No Gimbal footage here today. Really trying to give you guys footage you would have otherwise not seen! Gimbals can be really distracting and usually suck all the fun out of riding. I will go over all those details in a separate video down the road. Helmet cams are so much more convenient for me. These videos are just to show my subs that I am recovering well. I will use the Gimbal for more professional videos in the future. Helmet cams are showing you all footage that I would usually not film. If you have ridden with a Gimbal, you know how much they take away from having a good time. Cheers 🍻
Dude I totally get the no gimbal. One thing I'd suggest though is the hero5 or 6 in superview with the stabilization on. It cleans it up enough but still give you a feel for the roughness of the trail. I love the gimbal look at times but I also like raw footage to. Glad to see you back on the bike!!
"Probably going way faster than I should with my leg situation, but, that happens". Hahaha. Courage of a true rider. Great to see you back on the saddle bro! Stay well and keep ripping. That was fun to watch.
and some burly Tires I might add!Anytime you are out this way I am more than happy to ride! If I make it out to the East Coast, which I am really trying to this spring, I will definitely hit you up and hopefully get a some shredding in!
Dude, I love these videos! It might be better with the gimbal but helmetcam is still good. I really like the parts where you are chatting with the other riders and things like that hahaha Keep these really good videos coming! Love em!
Mtb Benicadell Thank you for your response! These are rides I would otherwise not of filmed. The helmet cam is so convenient that I don’t mind showing off some of my everyday ride. It’s so nice to not feel like you are making a full on production and be concentrated on it the whole time! Trail banter is what it’s all about, so much fun with all the homies!
Alex, have you ever gone through the Santa Cruz Bike Tour or demoed bike from there. SC had a factory demo in Miami over the weekend, fell in love with the 2018 5010!
That looks like the safest, most fun trails you could possibly find to get back up to speed on. No blown out flat pea gravel turns or rock chuck waiting to eat you if you crash. Very jealous up here in piss wet BC.
Ha, so you changed to metallics, huh? Sorry I never responded to the build video response. But my first two rides on the TRPs were end-of-season bike parks, so I couldn't quite tell how well they grabbed coz blown out. Then a race in the wet, and that sealed the deal the need to change to metallics. Just not enough grab, but all the modulation.
Looks like you hit up all the classics. So much for taking it easy. LOL. Also hit me up next time you come to Santa Cruz. Check out Los Pericos and get the pericos taco. You will thank me later 😉
Justin Sander they are great bikes! I love all the features: swat door, all Bearings are the same size, cable Routing. It’s a very well Thought out frame. Geometry is on point. I will say I’ve been on better suspension platforms before. But fsr is still very good. After all. Aaron Gwin and Sam Hill are on basically the same Horst link platform
Alex! Thanks for the shout out to MTBguru the new mountain bike App. Many of your subscribers have signed up. We really appreciate it. Please stay in touch.
I noticed you are running the float x2 instead of the dhx2. Im thinking about getting one for my enduro bike but im not sure which i want. Love the idea of max suppleness but im worried about the bottom outs as i like riding dh just as much
Lol Thanks for the replies! It does the job so far. Just hate having to run a low sag in order to keep from bottoming out. Love the videos! Hope your leg is getting stronger
I sold a guy a rotor on Pinkbike and he invited me to the UCSC trails, I'm assuming these are some of them? Good job on your recovery and thanks for the video's. Does "loam" mean scared in a different language? Just kidding
Ryan, it’s tough man. I will use the Gimbal for more professional videos, ones that will be tutorials or bike reviews. Maybe special trails for POV’s. With the helmet cam, I can show you all my daily rides! I don’t even think about the camera and it’s just so enjoyable. I normally wouldn’t film these things but the helmet cam makes it possible. Also it’s fun to get a realistic view of the atmosphere with my friends without people feeling like they are being filmed the whole time. I hope all that is understandable. I’ve also been using the giro switchblade helmet to attempt to make things smooth
If that app is charging people to ride with other people, those that charge better be licensed and insured (legal) guides. Otherwise, depending on the area, laws are being broken. In Colorado, you better have the requisite area permits and insurance.
if you are going to do helmet cams more often which is sick, maybe consider investing in a better camera like a gopro hero 6 heard they are pretty good
Man you really should not be riding like that until you re done healing.....injuries haunt you for life, especially when you hurt the same area multiple times. Great video but not worth risking your health over.
I don't think anyone cares about you not using a gimbal like from what I remember your gimbal looked a little broken compared to other gimbal vids online.

Alex Chamberlin were in Santa Cruz is this looks awesome
Helmet cam FTW!!!
I actually liked the helmet cam!
Antonio Espindola ucsc check my account i have a full vid of same trail
Footage still looks awesome dude!!
Update: Run TRP Quadiem’s with METALLIC pads. A world of difference in the power department with no downsides.
the homie TJ was a legend that day; he towed me in to the trail at 9:40. That shit was so fun

Awesome video. I'd love to ride with your crew again when I'm not on an XC bike and petrified the entire time. Lol.
and some burly Tires I might add!Anytime you are out this way I am more than happy to ride!
If I make it out to the East Coast, which I am really trying to this spring, I will definitely hit you up and hopefully get a some shredding in!
Dang Alex, going for it. I’ve totally been there where you are recovering and you end up pushing beyond comfort levels
Bullseye Fowl I mean it was quite fun 😂

Love your work and hear you on the gimbal! Trails look sick - forest of endor type sheet! Keep recovering!
Alex, have you ever gone through the Santa Cruz Bike Tour or demoed bike from there. SC had a factory demo in Miami over the weekend, fell in love with the 2018 5010!
it makes me happy to see you happy and enjoying yourself on a bike again :)
Riding pretty well. Love that area you were at. University trails are awesome.
Dan K some of the best trails around!
Really glad to see your channel growing!
Thanks Ben! It’s crazy to see it’s catching on
So good to see you back and going fast!
Roy Jaleco feels so good! As long as I keep it upright I should be fine 😂
I really like these vlog style videos!
Robert Filback thanks man!!
That looks like the safest, most fun trails you could possibly find to get back up to speed on. No blown out flat pea gravel turns or rock chuck waiting to eat you if you crash. Very jealous up here in piss wet BC.
gweflj exactly!!!

Great video good to see you back out on the bike. You thought of making suspension tuning tutorials ?
Scott Allan possibly!
Looks like you hit up all the classics. So much for taking it easy. LOL. Also hit me up next time you come to Santa Cruz. Check out Los Pericos and get the pericos taco. You will thank me later 😉
MTB FlowRider Pericos is pretty good too! I’ve been to most taquerias down there haha.
With the new enduro s-works I like both colours but the blue one would of been more dope.
Notification Squad, smash that bell button! Glad to see you out on the bike again!! Yewwwwww
Enduro Shredders dude thanks!!! I appreciate it!
Thanks Alex for the footage.
ALEX, thanks for the awesome videos man would love to ride sometime....had to subscribe after this one 😁
Monster Vlogster hahahaha thank you!!! Definitely should, where are you from??
Alex Chamberlin I'm in Everett Washington 👍
What a great trail!
Does the guy with the lime green bike and blue helmet have a dirt jumper now and rides at calabazas he looks really familiar?
your crew shreds. what are your thoughts on the enduro? got to demo the s-works, it rips. thinkin' of picking up the comp model
Justin Sander they are great bikes! I love all the features: swat door, all

Trails looked really fun. No gimbal though?
Flyn look at my pinned comment. Basically, I’m filming rides I normally wouldn’t
Sick trails, awesome crew, "no crashes" equals to perfect ride. What pedals did you used?
Rodrigo Pupo nukeproof horizon cl

Fun vid but man Santa Cruz is so blown out now
I noticed you are running the float x2 instead of the dhx2. Im thinking about getting one for my enduro bike but im not sure which i want. Love the idea of max suppleness but im worried about the bottom outs as i like riding dh just as much
Brandong13 what bike do you have
Commencal Meta AM V4.2. It currently has a rockshox deluxe which is a trail shock and definitely isnt going to hold up to the abuse.
Brandong13 that shock ain’t bad!! But dude. If yoann barelli can run a coil, you can too 😂 it should be fine. Bottoming our harshly isn’t always bad
Lol Thanks for the replies! It does the job so far. Just hate having to run a low sag in order to keep from bottoming out. Love the videos! Hope your leg is getting stronger
nice trail muddy and slipery/take care.
I sold a guy a rotor on Pinkbike and he invited me to the UCSC trails, I'm assuming these are some of them? Good job on your recovery and thanks for the video's. Does "loam" mean scared in a different language? Just kidding
Looks like the Enduro bike is treating you well :-D
Kasper Andersen it’s really fun!
That was sick man! 🤘🏻
Wait, Richie rude doesn’t run the orange fork anymore?
Tom Sharpe off season I think he’s just riding stock forks right now from Instagram
What happened to shooting with the gimbal man? I know it’s heavy and comber some but it makes videos look sweet! Still great video Alex!
Ryan, it’s tough man. I will use the Gimbal for more professional videos, ones that will be tutorials or bike reviews. Maybe special trails for POV’s.

Dope bro!!
SC mtb fo life
Why doesn’t Richie have an orange fork anymore?
Hello, is that Trek fuel ex 29er? The red one
And who was that you were following in the second half of your video? With the red helmet.
Ryan Boardman James Eves!
Dope video as always, sometimes it’s good with no gimbal
can we get a review on that 170mm fork?
Adam Lahart when I have more time on it!
5:22. Haha very funny! 😀

MTBGuru looks good, but they seem to have trouble getting the actual app out.
How is the new bike compared to the Firebird man!?
Andrew Michelson I’ll get to that question soon
Sweetness is pretty cool.
if you are going to do helmet cams more often which is sick, maybe consider investing in a better camera like a gopro hero 6 heard they are pretty good
Kala Sajko would just have to figure out a sound quality fix. They are horrendous
Is this a good trail for a regular xc bike?
Hate that Cobbs doesn't look even close to how steep it actually is lol
Type of bike you ride?
But.......was there loam? Not sure.
What tyres are u running and what width and pressures are you on
Calum spalding asking a lot there haha. Dhf 2.5 27psi/ Aggressor 2.3 31psi
Damn, looks like I missed out on a great day!
Ryan Boardman it was insane man!
wheres the burrito footage tho
Zadius895 dude I was so hungry I forgot :/ it was a wet burrito too😂
Yo are you still in Santa Cruz? Let’s hit up Mailboxes, I’ll ride my XC bike 😂😂😂
Tyler Sled I’m like an hour away over the break.
good stuff!
Parabéns muito bom!
Dope!
Wtf that section at 13:00 is so much gnarlier now that it has been eroded
helmet cam is perfectly ok
No half sends
hi
11:00 is such a steep line and you made it look ea$y
lol...#specializeddemoday!
Man you really should not be riding like that until you re done healing.....injuries haunt you for life, especially when you hurt the same area multiple times. Great video but not worth risking your health over.
Why do people want good brakes
Who even stops?
Do you stop bro
intense, holy shit that looks sketchy
where are the 29 haters?
I don't think anyone cares about you not using a gimbal like from what I remember your gimbal looked a little broken compared to other gimbal vids online.
29ers r cheater bikes!
