Great video, Calvin! Thanks for sharing a bit of your story!
Cheers from Brazil!
Thanks Eduardo, glad you enjoyed the video!
Reasons why I think working at a software company is superior as a software engineer (based on my experience):
- software engineers are treated better
- technology is more recent and overall quality bar is higher
- compensation/benefits are better

Great video thanks, I prefer those to the snacks one, waiting for the next one
Great vid man! 😄 Really appreciated the details on how engineer have different impact based on the companies! Btw, completely agree that we learn a lot at Amazon 🙌
Looking forward to the next one!
I think Amazon can be the perfect place to start a career (team dependent to some degree like with any other company). There's so much technical ownership!
Love your content! 😊
cold Bro .. your background is very awesome Mob and Reigen Sensei hehehehehe :) ...
Thanks for noticing :)
Great the video 🙏🙏
Hey Calvin! Can you make a video on how did you prepared for interviews for FAANG companies and advices you would give regarding prep for the interviews.
Also, how to get spotlight on your CV when there are 1000s of people applying for a single role?
I'm planning on covering those topics but it might take a while!
@@calvinxli Anxiously waiting for those videos.
Also, recently discovered your channel and in love with your content❤️
Could you share what level you are working at meta? Also curious about the interview process at Meta. Thanks
Hey question for you if you don't mind. How big of a role do you think school plays? Do you think it really matters where you go? I am a senior going to college soon and my options are quite limited financially so.
I did go to school so there's some things that I can't say with confidence and I won't pretend like I know what I'm talking about in those cases but here's what I do know:
- Going to a top tier school helps to land interviews straight out of college.
- Few companies will care about school regardless of experience (and they usually only care about top tier schools)
- School is irrelevant to most companies after you have a couple of years of experience
@@calvinxli Thank you man I appreciate it! Helps a lot. I cannot really afford many schools and can't take out loans either so figuring out where I am going to go is proving to be a challenge. Great video!
You're welcome and good luck on your journey!
Did any of of them consider your Studies or the grades you scored in schools ?
That's hard for me to say as the applicant but most likely not since I didn't go to any special school
Whats your leetcode rating?
I don't think I'm rated because I never did any contests
@@calvinxli okay bro. How important is leetcode for faang
@@novascotia2015 nearly required I would say. It's doable without but much easier if you use it.
@@calvinxli cool. just rock buddy.
This is more of a 'Look where I've worked' video
