You're right about the cold air intake, they don't do much, by themselves. Where they shine (and their purpose) is flowing mo9re air for a complete high flow exhaust.
Does adding those leaf springs lessen the buttery smooth drive, especially highway drive, that the Raptor with its front and rear coil springs is known for? I appreciate the added payload capacity but less so if you notice a decrease in ride smoothness and comfort. Thoughts on this? Also, would that cab and the Prinsu rack on top support the weight of a rooftop tent above the cab and say a couple adults sleeping in it? I'd welcome that option. Thanks.
The Gen 2 Raptor doesn’t have rear coils like the Gen 3, they just have leaf springs hence replacing them with stiffer aftermarket leafs make it drive nicer (less rear tire hop) and able to support more weight. Don’t know the answer to your tent question tho sorry.
Love the setup. I'm thinking about getting the latest Raptor, maybe the 37's, leaning that way, but am torn for various reasons between getting the RSI smartcap like that one, or the Diamondback HD bedcover. Do you have a preference, and why? I love the Diamondback. But that raises a question. I also love the new upgraded Sparrow2 Roofnest hardcover popup tent, and I know it works great above the RSI Smartcap, but am not sure how and where I could or would choose to mount it if I get the Diamondback HD hardcover for the bed instead of the RSI Smartcap. Do you know if the Roofnest Sparrow2 hardcover pop up tent can be used above the pickup cab instead of on top of the RSI Smartcap over the bed where I know it works? And do you know if the Roofnest could be mounted above the bed but below the cab roofline?
Good video! What tune do they run? Must do something with the upgraded inter cooler and intake. I’m running a stage 2 off the shelf from Cobb with the Accessport and it makes the Raptor so much more of a beast. Also did CVF intercooler, AFE intake and Corsa exhaust. I think the deavers in the back are a good idea. I have a Leer cap and I feel like I sag in the hind end. I’m not sure how I feel about the perch collars, though. Awesome truck
They’re running the AFE Scorcher which is plug and play. I run the ECU and TCM Goosetuned and it’s night and day from stock, I love it. I want to do an intercooler and do stage 2 soon. If you have a cap I think you’d love deaver/icon leaf springs. I have another video where I just had icon leafs installed and they ride really nice. The perch collars were just temporary, they’ve changed quite a bit of the suspension this last week since everything finally came in. Maybe I’ll do an updated video sometime.
Thanks! Yes, I was originally leaning towards Icon and switched to Fox for the same reason. Icon is back ordered for months and months and the shop was able to get Fox 3.0s in less than a week.
I don't know the exact numbers as I haven't had it on a dyno. But if you reach out to Goosetuned he could give you a good idea of what Raptors run on his Stage 1 tune, which is what I have.
I run the radium dual canister. It’s a little added security and after about 6k miles there was minimal oil in there but it wasn’t going back into the motor.
I could be wrong but I believe 12.50. The orange looks so sick. Reach out to Salty Gears Offroad in salt lake and they can make you a set of their custom orange bead lock rings.
With the new setup they have going on this Raptor they’ll be running 37s with no problems. But like you, I’m excited for the Gen 3 to come standard with 37” tires!
I agree. Ruins fuel mileage & as I understand it to accommodate the 37's it requires that he pull off & toss aside the factory suspension setup which is a large part of the reason we pay $75k for a Raptor. All to ruin full mileage, decrease power, & lose suspension travel. If it were done for ground clearance or to run less air offroad then the owner would most likely opted for a wench instead of lighting in the bumper because a wench can save your arse but lights & 37's look cooler when it's parked in the lot at the mall. Two of you here arguing that he's upgraded the truck with better components as if he receives any practical or functional benefits from them on a truck that was built with mall crawler looks as the top priority.
It's his truck why yall offended? 37s increase ground clearance which when off road is one of the biggest upgrades you can do. Not many folks race there raptors off road so for most people the speed isn't a priority and if it is they need to get the new raptor r or trx.
I've never seen a bed topper that suits Raptor, until Now!
I totally agree! Usually not a fan of them, but this one is so versatile and looks awesome.
You're right about the cold air intake, they don't do much, by themselves. Where they shine (and their purpose) is flowing mo9re air for a complete high flow exhaust.
Yes but on a Raptor it doesn’t add any performance gains.
Great video, thank you for the shout out.
Thanks!
smartcaps is from south africa, very nice cap for f150... I have plans to set on my f150 raptor... with bed drawer and a bed slide on top of it...
Awesome!

can you open the tail gate without lifting the back window if it dose this is perfect for my application
Don't think so I was wondering the same thing and all I've been told is you can't.

Love the video! Can you share why are they taking the icons off and moving toward the fox??
Thanks! Yes, I was originally leaning towards Icon and switched to Fox for the same reason. Icon is back ordered for months and months and the shop was able to get Fox 3.0s in less than a week.
Is this raptor lifted? I can tell it is somewhat leveled at least.
it looks lifted cause it has 37 inch tires
Yes I point it out in the video but it has icon perch collars up front to level it out (lift the front).
2021 Ford Raptor is provided with 37"Stock tyres with 37 performance package.
You are correct
Who’s bead lock ring are the running?
It’s the factory wheel and the bead lock ring is powder coated in their orange shop color. It’s pretty sweet!
Good review. I've been thinking of that rack too!
Thanks. The rack is awesome! Hit up Salty Gears when you’re ready and they can help you order, they’re a dealer.
I will look into purchasing a ford raptor after MOASS!
How's the cap holding up? I was about to order one but they been getting bad reviews on leaks and hardware coming loose. What's your thoughts?
This wasn’t my truck so I’m not sure about the cap longevity. Sorry!
This is an amazing Raptor. Amazing Video Nate :) Keep up the great work. Stay Healthy and stay safe :)
Thank you! Same to you.
Wow I really love your car reviews and this is one badass truck!
Thank you! It’s such a good build, and it’s only getting started.
fancy exhaust and it still sounds like a lawn mower. good video tho !
Looks soooo goood. But no side shot??? How
Nvm I'll take 0:34. but bareeely
Lol sorry!
#RaptorsOfInsta how much horsepower does your raptor have after the tune you put it does it have 525 horsepower or 500 horsepower
I don't know the exact numbers as I haven't had it on a dyno. But if you reach out to Goosetuned he could give you a good idea of what Raptors run on his Stage 1 tune, which is what I have.
Didn't seem to have a catch can. Anyone know the truth on those things?
I’m not the person to ask 😂
Don't waste your money
I run the radium dual canister. It’s a little added security and after about 6k miles there was minimal oil in there but it wasn’t going back into the motor.
I find it so hard to believe that Ford engineers would leave a 50 dollar part off a 70k truck...
@@robertwilson1664 what do you mean a 5 dollar part?
I know 37 but 12.5 or 13.5? I have the same truck I want to do that tires looks killer how they peint the wheels rings?
I could be wrong but I believe 12.50. The orange looks so sick. Reach out to Salty Gears Offroad in salt lake and they can make you a set of their custom orange bead lock rings.
@@raptorsofinsta can you send that people contact please?
801-953-1842 ask for Tony and let him know Nate sent you.
How does this build compare to the factory 37 setup?
Totally different since this is a Gen 2 and the 37pp is a Gen 3. The suspension on the Gen 3 is much better with the link rear suspension.
When are we jumping it? hahahaha
Haha maybe when it’s all done.
@@raptorsofinsta that front bumper is sick
What is y our MPG?? Like 7?
This isn’t my truck but I bet it gets around 11-13
By any means I’m not trying to mean in any way truck is awesome very nice I just can’t get over that it’s a v6 just can’t replace the v8 sound
That smart cap is nearly $4000 lol
Yeah they’re pricey! But they can do a lot.
And its on an $80,000 truck! OMG!!!
That V6 sound is such a letdown
Overlanding is just camping 😂
If u want to run 37 problems free then trade it in file the 2021
With the new setup they have going on this Raptor they’ll be running 37s with no problems. But like you, I’m excited for the Gen 3 to come standard with 37” tires!
@@raptorsofinsta but you will have major problems modding the 2020 to fits 37s spare
This man got some money to spend
Wow, what a great way to ruin a nice truck. Evidently, suspension travel, sound and milage were all were sabotaged. For what?
Ruin? Please explain to me how upgrading the truck with better components ruins the truck?
Still waiting for you to explain how these upgrades ruined the truck? With such a bold statement like that you think you can back it up.
