- Dubbed "The Finger of God" for its ability to devastate an entire map grid square, the M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System is in use with many NATO nations. Join us for a look at the plastic MLRS kit released as part of the new British forces for Tean Yankee.
We will have a quick look at the history of MLRS as well as explore the contents of the box set and look at the Team Yankee stat card.

I love how sophisticated this system is, and the Soviet BM-21 is like ‘lol, we use a mechanical wheels for elevation and traverse,’
It is a very different philosophy, isn't it!
A good looking (if impractical) kit. What was your typical build time including cleaning?
I build slow and spend a lot of time on cleanup. My build time was over an hour, but I wouldn't use that as a benchmark for anything...
Looks like a good unit for area denial. The kits are a bit 'gappy' but nothing too bad, and as you say just takes a bit more care during construction.
The gaps aren't bad and the kit tries its best to minimise them. I only really had the one on the launcher you can see in the thumbnail. Otherwise it worked out pretty well.
Since each MLRS counts as two, 2 MLRS's equals 4 (1 mine ), and 4 MLRS counts as 8 (2 mines); 4 or 3 MLRS's (8 or 6) would get the artillery bonus?
From memory, the rule is that each MLRS counts as two “tubes” when working out the artillery modifier for a bombardment. So a unit of 3 MLRS launchers counts as 6 guns for working out the bombardment modifiers for units under the template.
Buy a box of BF M270s and one QRF M270 ( quickreactionforce.co.uk/product/maart03-mlrs/ ) to make the full 4 vehicle Battery. BTW the BF are the nicer kit.
BF have said they will make the kit available for single purchase from their website. I can see why they do this for economic reasons. Too bad Tanks: The Modern Age is canned. That would make getting a single sprue even easier.
Another great review, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it. It is always good to have things that go BOOM to review!
Ohhhhhhh
Ahhhhhh!
Nice Video thanks again. I was wondering have you done any reviews on the French forces for Team Yankee, it would be interesting to see your take on them.
I have reviewed a couple of French vehicles, but not the forces as such. I don't play them, so not really in a position to speak authoritatively.
@@FogofWar Thanks for the reply, i actually found your reviews when i went through your Vids, i took the plunge and in the process of putting a Frnch force together, from what i read should be fun.
Good luck!
120" range - can't wait to try that out at my FLGS. Hey guys, sorry to interrupt your 40K game but I want to be 10' from that table over there. Mind if I put this in the middle of these blue guys ?
I love this mental image! Thanks for that.
Loved these vehicles ever since I played Command and Conquer as a kid. Going to be very tempted to buy a box, even though I'll likely never play TY.
They are a fun build. Good luck with yours!
How can you play this on a table top in 15 mm ! Minimum range around 10 miles maxi range around 180 miles.
Yep. The range thing is an issue - but they cheat the scales to get more pretty models on the table. And we can't really fault them for that. We want our pretty minis!
I am so happy that I've ordered some stuff before you video came out. So I don't have to buy this box... for now.😄
You know you want one...
Battlefront really has done a good job on this kit with detail that is normally seen on larger scale models. It is odd that only 3 vehicles are in the box. Thanks for the review.
That's probably a rules thing, with batteries of 2 having drawbacks and batteries of 5 having benefits, most players in our group taking artillery always go for the 5-6 gun bonus, and BF probably just wants to sell us 2 boxes instead of 3?
The MLRS rule kinda makes the obsolete though, as the unit of 3 is basically the same has having a unit of 6 anyway
I can see the economics of just 3 in the box. US players only need three, so why have 4, which will drive the price of the box up? But there needs to be a mechanism to buy a 4th one if you are British or West German. BF have said the new plastics will be available for single-sprue order on the store.
@@FogofWar I guess single unit loss insurance is the reason to go for 4?
But honestly you should just spam your backline with AA if you're having issues with artillery getting hit huh?
Then again, I play Syria in TY, so I've got 4 dudes for every job :P
I might be a party pooper but Ive always found it extrange to see artillery in the middle of the shirstorm so close to enemy tanks and so. Then i reallice its a game. Nice video review as always.
You are absolutely not wrong. But the game is as much about a good looking table, and having artillery units that would in reality be a lot further behind the front line on show is great!
perreterecon yesh team yanke is more about nice looking army and fast game, go look at battlegroup northag if you want a more realistic game
Tiger Tank dosent use 10mm miniatures?
perreterecon you can use the scale you want
