It's particularly meaningful that they treat Wheein as their own, as she comes from a broken home. She was raised by her mother, and had no father figure growing up. Her father abandoned them when she was little, and he sounds like a piece of work. He's still capable of causing her grief even though they have no relationship. A couple of years ago, he was accused of owing a business a great deal of money, causing it to go bankrupt. The owner took to social media to air his grievances, and dragged Wheein's name through the mud, even though she has not seen her father for years. She and Hwasa auditioned and auditioned, until they found a company that would take both of them. They wanted to stay together, and pursue this dream together. I am glad Hyejin's family is her family too, and she and Wheein are like sisters.
Whee in took a walk past all the rest to see which parts she would need to sing. Watch how she looks at each one in the eyes to see if they are going to sing their parts or cannot due to emotional reaction. The girls did not know that the video break would be their families on the screen saying they love and support them. These girls work every day and are away from their families most of the time. This was a very touching moment for them and for all of us that want the very best for them. This group of 4 girls could be considered one of the best vocal groups of all times. Their level of passion and delivery is beyond anything I have ever seen in my lifetime of music production. It is very emotional to watch for anyone that appreciates great talent.

To those who don't know, the story behind this song is: Back in like 2016 fans held up cards for Solar's bday as an answer to a lyric in "Love Lane" 놓지않을게 (Never letting go/I will not let you go). She then wrote part of the song. Hwasa wrote the rapping and singing parts after their first win (~500+ days after their debut for "You're the Best," recommend you all to watch it, it was really touching). Byul added her parts after their 2nd year anniversary. Then during their Memory Showcase, all four of them sang it.
I have a confusion. If I remember correctly(I may be wrong), but Solar said in her recent '7 years of Mamamoo' review video in Solarsido that moomoos held these signs in probably their first surprise fan event/fan meeting(which also happened to be on her bday). But here you wrote that it was in 2016 and during a Love lane performance, so would you mind clearing that up?

They were singing Love Lane and in the middle of the song the fans held up the cards... and the waterworks are on ;-) If you think they are crying in this video, good luck. just search for love lane 141228 and you get baby Mamamoo. There are some other videos out their - I have seen one where you can see the monitor in the back of the stage with the text for Love Lane and then the count down for the signs and one from the back of the stage were you can see the signs, but this one is the best in my opinion.
Adulting life made me so busy that I seldom listen to Mamamoo's songs and updates because they are focusing on individual projects rn. But hearing this song brought back all the memories I've had with these super talented and lovely beagles. Never letting go, Mamamoo!

This is going to be a little lengthy, so...The stunning beauty of this moment alone must be worth the price of every ticket in the auditorium. The ladies glow and radiate love. You can't even say one second was more touching than another. The lyrics cut deep and the delivery is special. Is it even possible there was a dry eye in the house? Because Mine weren't after the first verse. They were expecting fan messages, but when the fans were their families sending heartfelt messages (especially after not initially having their family's support), that was a beautiful surprise and became overwhelming for them. I think it was Byul who asked Whee In if she knew about this and Whee In shook her head "no." Moments like this are special in life and I'm just glad it was recorded for the ladies to look back on. On their 4th Anniversary video, they watched their videos through the years and were laughing and explaining through each until this particular one was played back. They went silent and you could see the effect was still there. Whoever envisioned this group probably had no clue they would be so special. They probably just envisioned putting together some voices. But to find personalities that fit together like a puzzle is RARE. Each can and DO carry shows alone as solo artists, but Solar said it simple and plain. Without Mamamoo, she would just be a part (missing the rest of her). And there are no diva-ish attitudes about these ladies. They don't think they are better than anyone else and are very grateful for the fortunes that come their way. sure, they've done things that other societies would question, but they learned that although their intentions were good, the act or word itself was not. They've apologized profusely for those mistakes and have had to try to live down that awful title of "racists," when they're CLEARLY not. A misunderstanding of cultures can catch you out like that. Like when I first performed in the U.K., when I would demonstrate the number 2 I would put up my index and middle fingers with the palm of my hand turned towards myself. People became offended and I thought it was my song choices. I came to find out later that in the U.K., that gesture would be telling my whole audience to f*ck off! I never even KNEW that was a thing let alone a part of their culture. I was destroyed that I had offended them like that. They eventually understood that being American, that isn't what that gesture means in MY culture. I was completely embarrassed nonetheless and couldn't apologize enough. I haven't done it since. But it sticks with me. And if these ladies KNEW what they were doing wrong, how did it get past the label, whom, as I understand it, has to okay everything that hits the stage? So I don't blame anyone or anything except culture clashes and misunderstandings for their mistakes, ESPECIALLY when they own up to them. I've got mad love, respect and admiration for these 4. American artists can learn so much from these ladies. Real moments. Real voices. Real beauties. Real heart. Real talent. Real fans. Real love. Mamamoo is real!!

Back in like 2016 fans held up cards for Solar's bday as an answer to a lyric in "Love Lane" 놓지않을게 (Never letting go/I will not let you go). She then wrote part of the song. Hwasa wrote the rapping and singing parts after their first win (~500+ days after their debut for "You're the Best," recommend you all to watch it, it was really touching). Byul added her parts after their 2nd year anniversary. Then during their Memory Showcase, all four of them sang it.

I have a confusion. If I remember correctly(I may be wrong), but Solar said in her recent '7 years of Mamamoo' review video in Solarsido that moomoos held these signs in probably their first surprise fan event/fan meeting(which also happened to be on her bday). But here you wrote that it was in 2016 and during a Love lane performance, so would you mind clearing that up?
@@honeybeemoo It was a fan meeting - I think their first one - in december 2014 (about 6 month after their debut).
They were singing Love Lane and in the middle of the song the fans held up the cards... and the waterworks are on ;-)

There are some other videos out their - I have seen one where you can see the monitor in the back of the stage with the text for Love Lane and then the count down for the signs and one from the back of the stage were you can see the signs, but this one is the best in my opinion.

Adulting life made me so busy that I seldom listen to Mamamoo's songs and updates because they are focusing on individual projects rn. But hearing this song brought back all the memories I've had with these super talented and lovely beagles. Never letting go, Mamamoo!

I'm a recent moomoo (1-2 months), I've been obsessively watching MVs, performances, and interviews for a while, and I only see this now. I couldn't agree with you more, it' sooooooo amazing, I don't know how youtube didn't force me to watch this before now haha! it went straight into my favourites, even though I ended up crying my eyes out when trying to do my homework lol
It's now 2021 and I kept coming back here. Definitely one of my fave. 💜
This MV prove that Solar is the main vocal because her vocals is stable in any situation it's hard to sing while crying and Whee In is the backbone of the group supporting everyone specially Solar, Hwasa is the spice in the group and Moonbyul keep them together completing the group.

This is going to be a little lengthy, so...The stunning beauty of this moment alone must be worth the price of every ticket in the auditorium. The ladies glow and radiate love. You can't even say one second was more touching than another. The lyrics cut deep and the delivery is special. Is it even possible there was a dry eye in the house? Because Mine weren't after the first verse. They were expecting fan messages, but when the fans were their families sending heartfelt messages (especially after not initially having their family's support), that was a beautiful surprise and became overwhelming for them. I think it was Byul who asked Whee In if she knew about this and Whee In shook her head "no." Moments like this are special in life and I'm just glad it was recorded for the ladies to look back on. On their 4th Anniversary video, they watched their videos through the years and were laughing and explaining through each until this particular one was played back. They went silent and you could see the effect was still there. Whoever envisioned this group probably had no clue they would be so special. They probably just envisioned putting together some voices. But to find personalities that fit together like a puzzle is RARE. Each can and DO carry shows alone as solo artists, but Solar said it simple and plain. Without Mamamoo, she would just be a part (missing the rest of her). And there are no diva-ish attitudes about these ladies. They don't think they are better than anyone else and are very grateful for the fortunes that come their way. sure, they've done things that other societies would question, but they learned that although their intentions were good, the act or word itself was not. They've apologized profusely for those mistakes and have had to try to live down that awful title of "racists," when they're CLEARLY not. A misunderstanding of cultures can catch you out like that. Like when I first performed in the U.K., when I would demonstrate the number 2 I would put up my index and middle fingers with the palm of my hand turned towards myself. People became offended and I thought it was my song choices. I came to find out later that in the U.K., that gesture would be telling my whole audience to f*ck off! I never even KNEW that was a thing let alone a part of their culture. I was destroyed that I had offended them like that. They eventually understood that being American, that isn't what that gesture means in MY culture. I was completely embarrassed nonetheless and couldn't apologize enough. I haven't done it since. But it sticks with me. And if these ladies KNEW what they were doing wrong, how did it get past the label, whom, as I understand it, has to okay everything that hits the stage? So I don't blame anyone or anything except culture clashes and misunderstandings for their mistakes, ESPECIALLY when they own up to them. I've got mad love, respect and admiration for these 4. American artists can learn so much from these ladies. Real moments. Real voices. Real beauties. Real heart. Real talent. Real fans. Real love. Mamamoo is real!!
