Digimon Virtual Pets are being released in the US again, so here's a video talking about what they are and how they differ from Digivices! Even though the new pet is being called a Digivice.... whatever!

As a Digivice IC owner I must give this warning. The Digivice IC is considered a V-Pet instead of a true Digivice. At certain points in time, your Digivice IC may start beeping loudly and playing a really disturbing sound. What's happening is that your Digimon is dying and you must hit the button rapidly to keep it alive, almost like giving CPR. If it dies, but you took good enough care of it, it's reborn as an Egg. If not, the data is lost. I am not sure if Lost Data is a thing in other V-Pets, but as a kid I was shocked.
I'm not sure but from this review it sounds like the threat of Digivice Digimon dying randomly is significantly less than V-Pet Digimon. Something to consider before buying.
... Or, just pull the battery out and put it back in. Your Digimon is suddenly back to life.
The Digivice iC is really neat because it's basically a fusion between a virtual pet and a traditional Digivice. The 4 Digivices that released prior to that didn't have any raising mechanics, and indeed your Digimon could not die, but the Digivice iC was for all intents and purposes a Virtual Pet.
@@humulomon I didn't know that. Thanks for teaching me. As a kid I wanted a D-Ark, but 2010 was not the best time to be a digimon fan in the US, where I lived at least. The only Digivice I could find was the iC. I didn't realize how unique it was among Digivices.
Still, when my iC displayed the word "LOST" on the screen my 12 year old self darn near had a heart attack ;-;

i lost my digivice base on the first season anime like 3 years ago. i'm so mad about that it was red. i might have the black one from season 2 anime though can't be sure.

I finally got my hands on a Brown 20th Anniversary Digimon V-Pet from an online store in my country for the retail price and I couldn't be happier. I've got a question, however - and it's wanting to know which was the most recent V-Pet or Digivice to contain the Veemon/V-Mon line? It's my favourite among the countless Digimon and I'd love to have a V-Pet/Digivice containing it.
The most recent Vpet with V-mon in it is the Digimon Pendulum Ver.20th, on both the Silver Blue and Dukemon colors. For Digivices, it was most recently on the D3 Digivice 15th. The Digivice is MUCH more expensive, but you can find Pendulums at Japanyouwant for good prices! Check out humulos.com/digimon/pen20 to see V-mon's specific evolution line on the Pendulum.

I love your guides, man. They've been helping me out a TON on the pendulum ver 20th.
They are technically both! Though if I had to pick one, they are much more Virtual Pets than they are Digivice toys, as the raising mechanics take center stage, and you don't necessarily evolve into characters from the show.

The 20th Anniversary Digivice definitely has more to do in it! The Tamagotchi rereleases are almost exact replicas, while the Digivice contains all 5 original versions of the Digital Monster Series, and more, with some modern features thrown in.

THEY POOP SO MUCH! Fun fact, if you let 4 piles accumulate and then heal your Digimon without flushing the poop, they will never poop again.

For the English Digital Monster Ver.20th, there is no pause option, BUT you can put them down for a 3 hour nap at any time. The Digimon Pendulum Ver.20th and Digital Monster X series both have a true pause function, where you put your Digimon in the freezer.
How long does it take to get an egg after one dies
You can start a new egg immediately! Once a Digimon dies, you press A+B at the same time to get a new one.
Is it in stores
Currently the English version can be found at some Gamestops in the US, and EB Games in Canada and Australia. Give your local store a call and see if they have any!

How long do they live?
The average is between 15-20 days for most people, but for all modern devices they CAN live forever if you just stay on top of them, which becomes increasingly harder to do as time goes on.

Hey there! I personally tested that exact result and I did indeed get Metal Tyranomon X from Growmon X with 3 care mistakes and being at level 6. This is also what the official Bandai page says the result is. To be sure, are you getting 3 or 4 care mistakes AND getting level 6?

So each device can become any digimon and not each device can only get 1 specific digimon right?
Each device will have a few exclusive Digimon, but will be able to evolve into a lot of different options, not just one Digimon
