For that color tattoo, just take a tooth pick and stir it up. That's what I did to mine, I didn't add any liquid, I just mused it and it made it creamier.

I love watching these. It makes me feel better knowing that when I'm decluttering and talk to myself like " oh I don't have one that's exactly this creamy beige" and oh this light creamy one is so soft' Etc. And I end up with still having tons of essentially the same color!! Especially when I have them in palates too!! This is not a put down in any way!! You do a great job, I'm simply saying I think it's nice to know someone else talks to themselves and for lack of better word justifies keeping lots of the really similar colors!! I think we all end up with a zillion of our favorite tones and really, what's the harm in it!! You're doing an amazing job!

+Yenny Flores yes yes I am. Lol. I even take a med to curve it a little. Has helped a little but still thinking about it a lot. Lol. Some times it's better. My house used to be super clean. Now it's once a wk deep kind. Like mopping and dusting every thing. I could handle having some one come in once a wk. but my kids say no one would work for me. Lol.

If it helps at all, if anybody starts getting hardpan on a powder and you just can't give it up, try using a spoolie to scrape away the affected areas. It kind of hurts your soul to see the wasted product, but it's preferable to throwing it away. You can do the same thing to make pressed eyeshadows into a MacGyver loose pigment.
Might be a stupid question but what do u mean by "hard pan" are u referring to that film type looking stuff that sometimes appears on powder products?
+Courtney I think we're thinking of the same thing! It's when the powder gets cakey and compressed, resulting in a loss of pigment transfer. It renders the powder pretty much useless
+peachy queen how much do you typically need to scrap away? I have a quad from the Balm and one pan was covered after one use on the crusty covering. I scraped a bit, but probably not enough. Either that or that color was shit to begin with
Using clear tape also works!
+Krista Newcomer A lot more than most people think! A fairly sizeable chunk has to be scraped off. You don't need to hit pan if it's a practically new shadow unless you really fucked up. I go until I see that all the compressed powder is gone, and then scrape off another two layers or so. It's very hard to quantify on my end though. Mattes typically need the most work, then satins, then metallics, but variations between many brand formulations can change that. It also changes based on how bad the damage is. I once had nearly an entire pan go hard, and to get it back to the original quality I had to get past the visible layer and then scrape about four extra layers off. I'm sorry this is so vague, it's just difficult to explain! Basically, make sure you can't see any remnants of the area, then use your judgement to scrape off at least one extra layer. And off course, if you find out the powder was just plain bad... Chuck that shit with no remorse and settle for the fact that at least you gave it a shot and kind of maybe had fun lol

Not to argue with your methods, Jessica - but just so everyone knows, if you LOVE a shadow, you can fix hardpan with tape, and revive dry cream polishes by mixing them up. Really enjoying watching your decluttering for inspiration!

Hey Jess, a couple things. I would return as much as I can to CVS, Walgreens, Target, Ulta, etc. They are all great about exchanging or store credit. And, the shadow that has hard pan, you can use tape and apply it on top as many times as you need to remove the film. What causes it is the transference of product and oils from brushes that have not been cleaned.
By the way, Pinocchio is a doll! Hope this helps someone!

Stila kitten is a gorgeous highlight. I use mine that way all the time. I actually have a few light singles I wear as highlights and lid colors that stay in my makeup tray full time.
I love watching you organize things in the beginning of the video. Please don't cut it out in the future. And thank you so much for filming declutters because they are my fave! So this is just an idea but could you and your husband film a declutter on y'alls channel? Like of maybe your dishes or garage or just more general categories? It would be nice to see it from a couple's perspective because that's rarely seen on RUclips. And tbh y'all are just really great examples!

Bad to the bronze is my go to, no thought, easy Peasy shadow to do a one shadow look. Def worth a repurchase. I recommend, if you can get them, the Jordana liquid shadows, so pretty and so easy to work with 😀

Should have kept the primer you liked in my opinion. I mean primers are used everyday. That's the one thing I always feel like I run out of so my heart hurt when you decluttered it
I feel like it takes FOREVER to use up eye primers. I have 3 eye primers rn and it probably wouldn't hurt to get rid of one. I guess I'll use them up... Eventually.
I love watching your declutter vlogs. I don't even wear makeup unless chapstick counts. I use to wear clear lipgloss but can never find it anymore.

Just a suggestion for the color tattoo, try scraping off the top layer with a butter knife or a spoon. It's a bit of a waste, but I was not impressed with mine at first because it was also dry and instead of getting rid of it I scraped off the top layer. It's been great ever since! I guess some of the batches are a bit funky like that!

Do you really only have two Colourpop eyeshadows?! Girllll they have such incredible colors and they're so affordable! I know you try to be frugal with your collection, but if you're going to hoard anything from any brand I suggest colourpop all the way. I have like 25 of their shadows :)
I'm not sure colorpop is the best for hoarding even tho it's cheap because the formula makes them dry up faster than powder eyeshadows. I'm not a fan of the bulkiness of the packaging either, especially since you can't depot them at all.
+Ling I was thinking the same in regards to the formula. I went on a Colour Pop buying binge and now have about 20 shadows that I almost never wear because I have so many other shadows too. I'm worried about them drying up before I get good use out of them. I didn't know they were a different formula when I bought them or I would have told myself to calm the hell down.
+Jennifer Miller that sucks. I didn't buy any because I realized that I wouldn't use them enough to justify buying them. On the plus side, they seem to has less than some eyeshadows so hopefully you aren't that much product. I've seen people panning them in 2 weeks because the pans are so shallow. Maybe you could try using the lighter ones as highlighter?

The dry color tattoo you can add essential oil (I use cooconut oil) to it and mix it and it's like new. works with everything dry. does wonders.

I got rid of 12 lipsticks a few weeks ago and rewarded myself with ANOTHER eye shadow palette. Whatever reasoning my mind comes up with I just go with it!

I have two of the maybelline cream shadows and I just put about 2-3 drops of witch hazel in them, mixed them up, and pressed them back down. I swear they are about 300x better now

Jessica I think if you would take something and just stir the color tattoo up it would bring it back to life again. I done that with one of my Gel eye liner's and it made it like new again.

Just literally scrape it. I use the long end of a floss pick but there are so many things you can use.

+Kathy Brou gently rub with a spoolie and it will flake right off.
Also just literally any kind of adhesive tape, I just revived a fave oldie with masking tape, it worked GREAT!
Hey Jessica, I noticed you weren't happy so much with the Color Tattoo gold-ish colored cream eye shadow. May I suggest Ulta (store brand) cream shadow in "metallic"? I have that one & I LOVE it! It's super creamy, and it looks great against dark eyes :) They also have one called "rose gold" and it's my favorite

when I bought Bad to the Bronze I thought mine was old too, but I think the formula for that specific colour is drier than the others!
Sometimes, with the Color Tattoos, you have to break through the top layer to get to the good stuff. That's usually after you've had it for a while, though, which kind of stinks. Love Bad to the Bronze.

Great job! Now I want to go through my singles lol! I have so many of the Milani Bella shadows, they are so good. Actually hit pan on some Colour Pop shadows , need to swatch some of the mattes though because they can dry out. Thank you for motivating me. Glycerin will make the Maybelline colour tattoos better than new! And, packing tape can fix hard pan in a nano second! ;)
