@@gazoo-pl4nx repairing it with toilets as long as they’re not cracked, is usually better if they’re older, they flush considerably better than the new ones
If you see a toilet flush handle with an red hose washer under it you know steve's been there. Or someone that watches Steve's channel has worked on it.
The toilet is an early 2000s Eljer Patriot, I certainly wonder what it replaced. That’s a really fascinating bathroom, with the claw-foot tub. My father, along with his seven siblings, lived in a house built in 1916 in south Detroit, which had all the original plumbing, which was a claw-foot tub and a low-tank, beaded, forward trap toilet that never backed up.
Agree- Just change-out to a new toilet. That toilet is 25 years old already and junk! Menard's has toilets for $90.00 with a MAP score flush of 1000 grams.
my job in the hotel was fixing the toilets and sinks and they had 5 different types of toilet guts and three different faucets, it took me awhile but I got them all the same now it had even pressure on all fixtures.
Here's a funny 😁 😂 one for yah Steve a year ago at the apartment where we live my brother coughed and his teeth popped out into the toilet and 😅and some how he flushed it and they got stuck in the bowl and they had to break the toilet to get them out 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Steve, just hilarious, I’d give anything for you to come down south (where I’m located) and talk like this to some spoiled domesticated Karen😂, anything…..! Great job as usual
What ya want to do next time steve is only buy the longest supply lines that way you make a circle and its not putting pressure on those crimps , what I like to do on compression style valves is turn the 3/8 down and it's a lot easier to hook up , but to each there own, f n hate call backs.did ya take out that b s spiral gizmo they started putting in the bottom of the fludmasters , if not that a future call = slow water fill
I just finished installing that other toilet brand you said was an over-rated nightmare. Tried rebuilding the old one (new tank gasket, bolts, tightened everything up) --> She was still a leakah
-income tax -property taxes -insurance -repairs -maintenance All the money made isn’t money actually being made if you know what I mean. If you have to repaint, re-carpet, or anything like that in between tenants it eats a lot of money. That doesn’t even begin to mention replacing hvac system or roofing. There can be money made from renting, but it’s not the gravy train many people think it is. If you are thinking about investing in rental property I personally think you are better off to invest in a beach or lake house instead of an apartment. People will pay several thousand dollars per week to rent a nice beach house. People renting apartments are living there full time which means they pay a lower rate compared to short term rental fees and that also means they have more time to live in and damage your property that you are going to have to clean and repair when they move out.
@@HERITAGEWV I get there's expenses involved. And you can get a low-life tenant who may trash the place and you have to evict. Personally, I would never own rental property. My brother rented his condo to a lady a on Section 8. The first thing she did was move her boy friend in.. Then he took a pair of speakers and spray-painted them in the living room--leaving over spray all over the place. The guy needing the repair here, could be making gross $162,000 a year. And that sounds pretty sweet. The state of Massachusetts where this video is shot, is also pretty slick. They allow tenants tax deductions for their rent. This way landlords have to report their rental income and make it jive with their tenants' rent who are getting the tax deductions. Beach property is very lucrative. Some of my neighbors have a son who's got a few places at the Jersey Shore. He knocks down well over $1,500 a week for each place.
Oh boy that does make a lot of sense when you are the plumma and dealing with a customa with old and crusty parts plus various people putting their hands on the fill valve threads etc. Make it right or they will likely be calling for something else that "you touched it last". The parts are so cheap that it makes complete sense to take out the old and put back some known quality parts while the man is there...cheaper in the long run and its a done deal for many years.
You know what works good when the valve and the toilet are close to gether is a plastic supply line and cut it to fit and use a compression nut it looks alot cleaner and will last way longer than the rubber covered with stainless hose 😊😊😊
Yeah dumb dumb 😅 this old timer plumber showed me that you take a piece of rubber tubing. That's the same OD as the hole for the toilet seat 🚽 and the ID the same as the bolt 🔩 and the toilet seat stays put you know what mean 😊😉
@joeburner7120, Steve has the best job on semi-retired not retired. Even when it is literally working with shit sometimes. If I could start over, I would either do what Steve does, or become an electrician.
Steve's truck is better stocked than my local hardware store.
Congrats on the 200k Steve. Well deserved
Steve has no filter i love it
Me to I have no filter but also freedom of speech isnt a given where i am from
@@edbug007 yah no filtah

Steve yoh are the best
I like Korky fill valves myself, Fluidmaster is made in China. Korky is made in Wisconsin.
Steve, from one retired plumber to another, make the water supply in the shape of a pigtail loop when the valve and tank are that close.
I was thinking that same thing
It seems that to pigtail loop it, it needs to be a little longer, so I did it exactly what Steve did, but I agree with your point.
@@SpecialistOne that supply line was too long. He had to have a shorter one that would work better
That length causes the hose to bend a lot and strains the crimped ends.
But why please?
Last expert on the job
Enjoyed the toilet repair video. Thank you.
He is the best plumber in the state
Every single part needed was in your warehouse on wheels. Nice job Steve!!!
That toilet was shot. Steve rebuilt the whole tank guts
would have been cheaper to buy a new one
@@gazoo-pl4nx repairing it with toilets as long as they’re not cracked, is usually better if they’re older, they flush considerably better than the new ones
Steve the only thing you didn't change on this toilet is the color! LOL
That truck is fully stocked and always ready to go
Dang good video Steve, all you lacked to change; other than the whole toilet was the flush valve! Remain safe and keep the videos coming 💥💫👌☝️
My dad was a Plumber he saved alot of good used plumbing supplies in his shed ,some good new old stock from 30-40yrs ago!
Great detailed video. Thank You
Nobody will be mistaking this place for a suite in Trump Tower ....that's for sure 😅
I spit out my drink 🍺a bit. 'I take your word for S***, then your wrong.' Thanks for another one Steve.
that bathroom is tighter than two coats of paint
I love, when you're blunt!!
Man talk about a complete toilet rebuild
Floppin in the flippin wind . Ain't the man I used ta been

He went to hell and back with this one.
3rd floor is tough on us 50+ yr olds
Good enough for this neighborhood.
My God, after rebuilding the entire toilet he probably spent as much as if he got a new one

steve’s got them brass nuts
Super job 👏 😊
Get a collapsible container. They work great for that
Love your mobile garage man! LOL
hope it turns out well, Steve replaced everything but the wax ring!
There's only about three kinks in that supply hose. That equals no/low water supply
That’s a brand new toilet… no need for a tablet 😂
Steve's working hard again Ya'll.
That toilet needed a couple things. Good to replace all the stuff now while you are there.
You know what works good if can't find brass nuts is brass coupling for threaded rod and it's easier to get a socket on it 😊😊
Do you warranty your used parts?
the used parts are no longer made ..so no one has them ..
That's where a multi tool comes in handy
Good nuff for that neighborhood

Hey Steve did you make that suction tool to drain bowl and tanks?
no i did not
You would make good vice president for Donald Trump😂
Good job Steve, Steve is an HVAC animal, haha.......
I bet he was a great mason
I would have pulled the whole thing out and redone the wax ring too you know its about gone.
Why not replace the entire toilet? I would assume it would be cheaper?

Hello Steve!
Look at that toilet I 100% would have broke out the tablet and sold him a new toilet 😂
Facts!
Them young gungs with tablets just sell new toilet.
I sell you every part except the seat
😂

Hey Steve why you wearing gloves 🧤
Hello Steve
That customer was a mason? Mason's work very hard and everything they work with is heavy.
I would use a saw to cut the bolts. Much faster
Great content! But a new toilet you would’ve been done faster, $99 HD special mama!
Shit you should have replaced the float
valve seal when you had the tank off to late now 😅 you'll be back when it's leaking 😅😅😅
What’s the point of wearing gloves ? It’s clear water.
lol
Steven, thanks for the shitshow.
Where’s your tablet? And why the gloves?
