Columbia is a gem, and we go there regularly for shopping and entertainment. My pet peeve is the lay-out of the roads and villages. It follows no logic or sense of direction. The landmarks are either non-existent or hidden behind berms and trees. You just have to memorize it. East, West, etc., have no meaning there. And because this was a planned community, prepare yourself for twee street names like "Tolling Bells Court" or "Blue Sea Drive" or "Early April Way," etc. The "villages" include "King's Contrivance" and "Hobbit's Glen." The names sometimes make me want to lose my lunch, but there is no denying that Columbia is largely a green, tolerant and peaceful place to live or visit.
Beautiful town, but its becoming more and more like a crammed sardine can because they want to build apartments and businesses in every nook and cranny they can get their hands on. Beautiful town, but it is starting to become waaaay too congested and expensive.

I agree. My wife and I spend a ton of time in Columbia and its awesome!

I'm on year 50 in Columbia and wouldn't live anywhere else. They used to call Columbia Disneyland years ago because it was so idealistic.
