Depends on how good the metal cases from Alibaba are. Also, consider this. Resin G-shocks don't have an extra resin layer between the outer case/bezel and the inner case which metal G-shocks do for absorbing shocks because metal cases transfer shock to the mm module inside. So, if you buy a metal outer case for a resin/transparent G-shock you are essentially cancelling out the shock-absorbing property of the watch. Hope this makes sense.
3 things I really like about your channel - 1. You don't do the annoying 'customary quick wrist watch check' as some other watch youtubers do. You just subtly show the watch you're wearing while unboxing and I really appreciate that. 2. You don't measure the dimensions of the watch using a freaking vernier caliper. I find it cringe when those other youtubers measure the dimensions, when all the physical dimensions are clearly mentioned in the package or the website. 3. Others only mention surface level things. While you take your time and delve into those minute details, which shows how serious you are about this passion. It's the little things that gives a mature and quality feeling to your content.

Another frustrating thing about Casioaks is they don’t have Auto light feature, but I don’t want to make Casio angry by complaining - I’ve got more than enough (BT, Solar, positive digital display) for Rs 7.2 K ! My next ‘octagonal’ acquisition will probably be one of those Edifice models (Eg., EF -640D) or 2300 (the Flipkart version !)
It'sa semi--surprise. There was a budget and this was the best one available at the mall in that range. Yeah, AL would have been good for this price. Yes, I would have chosen the positive display had they been available.
Me too, I don't do quartz unless it's solar powered. The Bluetooth time synchronisation is also very useful. I don't really like the plastic cases, they look fine but I don't like the feel, I've been looking at the GM-B2100 but it looks a little bland, so I got the GA-B2100CY Caution Yellow and did a gen 4 black PVD stainless steel case/bracelet swap, very happy with it now.

Absolutely agree with your opinion regarding the watch. This is one of those watches where Casio emphasises too much on form over function. But still I love this watch. The aesthetics of the watch captivates me. It is one of my favourite casios.
Nice review! I have to admit I am NOT a fan of the Casioak. I have owned a GAB2100 twice and both times it failed to click with me, so both times I sold it. Just give me my squares and you can keep the Casioak! 😅
I think they designed this model for fashon in mind more than practicality. Which in my opinion is a shame, having all the functions, but being so difficult to use. If only it had some more contrast, better lume (Solid lume hour markers would be awesome), and a more readable display.(Mip would be perfect for mantaining the overall visual sesthetic) I have the yellow bluetooth, tough solar version, and though the lume isn't great, at least it has more visible hour markers, and a positive display. I swapped the strap and case cover for black with yellow text, as I wanted the black version, but that version had darker hour markers. It's a great watch, but I'd still like it to have better lume, and also lume on hour markers. (Solid lume would be fantastic) Great daily beater, as I find it easyer to see the aproximate time easyer at a glance than on a digital.
Loved the design as a kid since I owned a tough solar back then. As I got older, mechanical watches and g shock squares seemed more appropriate, marking my milestone of growing up and think of watches as tools, not fashion items to be mass bought and displayed.

Which ever has more % of discount. Solar recharge isn't that big of deal, u can change cells for rs 100, plus won't have to deal with battery charge information all the time on watch. Regular 2100 has week day info there instead of it which is more functional.
Go for the square but I would wait for a good offer wherein you can pick it up for less than 5500. The advantage of solar is that you don't have to remove the caseback for the next 10-12 years.

G-Shock doesn't need Bluetooth. It defeats the purpose of owning a Quartz watch. Every time you connect to the Casio Watches app the time gets set to the accurate Atomic time that your phone is displaying. But without it your Quartz watch only lose or gain about 20 secs a month which is not a problem at all. Of course you can set alarms and other functions right from the app but then what's the point of the buttons on the watch- defeats the traditional purpose. I would get a Metal Design without Bluetooth 😎

I bought the solar version of this watch few days back and returned very soon. There is no point of a watch if you can't read basic analog hands in indoor light, leave alone the negative display. This is a watch with fatal design flaws. Stay away from this watch unless you grab a contrasty model.
What's wrong with it? It's a beautiful piece and rugged and gshock tough.. I found one here used for 25 USD ... What's cool is you can mod them out pretty easy and with some cool options.
I am fan of g shock and Casio... But really disappointed with Casio oak design and features giving with that high price. I returned it immediately, I ordered solar version.. instead skmei with 1600 rupees giving all such effect with more enhance pratical way. Like it's light illuminate whole face of the watch and it's powersaving option is actually better than Casio. I am really impressed 👍by Skmei with its design even tho it's copy from Casio.😅
Well, Casio doesn't consider all 3 major factors with all their variants of any given model- looks, features and durability. With Casioak, they do have the positive display variants in the GM line which covers all 3 aforementioned factors

That's an advantage but the metal bezel can handle rough usage and even if they get dinged and scratched and dented that will add character to it

What's wrong with it? It's a beautiful piece and rugged and gshock tough.. I found one here used for 25 USD ... What's cool is you can mod them out pretty easy and with some cool options.
Yes, it's beautiful but not practical. Maybe in 5-7 years, I will consider modding this
To be honest I don’t feel that inclined to buy this one. The casio square black on black seems more appealing to me.

I am fan of g shock and Casio... But really disappointed with Casio oak design and features giving with that high price. I returned it immediately, I ordered solar version.. instead skmei with 1600 rupees giving all such effect with more enhance pratical way. Like it's light illuminate whole face of the watch and it's powersaving option is actually better than Casio. I am really impressed 👍by Skmei with its design even tho it's copy from Casio.😅
Well, Casio doesn't consider all 3 major factors with all their variants of any given model- looks, features and durability.
With Casioak, they do have the positive display variants in the GM line which covers all 3 aforementioned factors

Hahaa yeah. It was pointed out by someone else too. It's a mistake - in meant to say the the mineral crystal isn't as scratch proof as sapphire. I need to figure out if I can edit it on the RUclips platform itself

I have no use for Bluetooth on a watch but i will get one without and with a positive display 😊
@@TickTockTreasures Its lot easier to play around with the features through BT without fumbling the hard buttons G-Shocks have. Since it is a tough solar there is no worry about battery life and the time keeping will be precise.
