Can you make a video of you ACTUALLY packing this stuff in the bag? There has to be a smart way to pack up a bag for balance and easy access.
Heavy stuff on the bottom lighter stuff on or things that you would use often on top. Things that can provide padding at the back of the backpack to provide padding for your back when you're hiking... For example your tarp clothing or Rain pancho Whatever pocket you decide to put your first aid kit in add a zipper tie that is red. This is universal for backpackers and medical personnel to know that's where your medicine is at. If you have side pockets on your backpack small things that you would constantly need or need quickly should go there. For example your baby wipes, lighter, flashlight water... And try to have the most important items actually attached to your body... For example your knife
If you need or use paper maps, I'll pass on a trick I learned as a Boy Scout Leader, take a USGS map or other good quality map and soak it in wood deck preservative, it helps keep the map from getting wet and falling apart in very wet conditions.
This should mandatory education for all American middle school and high-school age children.
FYI I studied ems and my buddy went to Afghanistan as SF came back after packing many other peoples bullet holes and his own said the quick clot is a bad idea. The gauss are great the quick clot needs to be cut out by the doctor therefore increasing time of open and aggravated wound. My buddy who knows from experience and myself as a certified firefighter encourage extra gauss to pack like crazy but the quick clot is not helpful for long term golden hour survival.
Grace Force!!!
Tourniquet high and tight, not too high into the shoulder joint. if bullets in the joint pack it and tourniquet for pressure I guess over shoulder joint, probably if you had time lol. Annnnd ELIVATE!
Thank you
Your blood is very connected to your life. If you lose more than 1 liter (2 units) of it, your life enters into jeopardy. The idea of quick clot is to keep them red juice in yer blood vessels, not gushing it out of your system and onto floors, ceiling and medical staff. That looks cool in Holywood disaster/horror/action/war movies; but a big No-No irl..
One thing that should be in a med kit to help with major wounds, tampons, they're meant to soak up blood and expand when they soak up the blood and therefore are good for packing wounds
Also, if you have small kids, one thing that would be good to put in a go-bag for them is a small comfort item. Cuz for a young kid, running for their lives in a major disaster can be really jarring for them and that one item could keep them in a calm state of mind which as a parent can help keep you calm as well.
Tampons are not good for wounds. They are made to suck up blood and allow the free flow of blood. As opposed to quikclot which stop the bleeding, tampons allow the bleeding to continue
I learned about tampons from from SF Medics when I trained at Ft. Sam Houston, I would add maxi pads, they are good for covering large area wounds and gun shot exit wounds and they are designed to be very adsorbent.
I keep disposable adult diapers in my car, never know if stuck in a highway for several hours, I would prefer to use one than relieve myself outside.
hey brother dont forget bible
thank you so much!!!! I have been searching for good informational videos to teach me how to pack my bugout bag and all I was coming across was informercials... thank you for your knowledge, not only with the items but with advice. You sir, are appreciated.
About the wipes or toilet paper issue. I keep coin tissue in my pack. They use less room and is better than toilet paper. Use a smidge of water and you have a wet wipe. Add some hand sanitized to it or alcohol and you can sanitize on the go. Just a thought.
I made 6 Go-bags for each member of my family, but they’re so heavy that only a tank could carry them. But then, I am Italian, and our motto is always “more is better”. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😇 😉
That's what I mean, the more you pile in the heavier it is.. how are you going to have the strength to carry it..
@@Vote2024again,not me; my son will be doing the heavy lifting, and he is already complaining. LOL
When SHTF station happens, your son will complain "Why you have not made them bags heavier ? These are not enough!" Life is strange..
I love how you incorporate faith in emergency preparedness. That's the mindset of a true believer!
Ha ha. The irony!
Ha ha. The ignorance!
Totally agree!! 🙏👏👏👏
Ha ha. The sarcasm!
Building the bag is one thing. Rucking it is quite another. Don't just build the bag....get out and ruck with it. Do what you can to start...a mile? Two? Suppose your car is rendered inoperable [earthquake crushed in a parking garage, swept by floodwaters, etc.]...you will have to walk...How far is your workplace from home? Can you ruck that distance? How far from home to a safe evacuation center? My workplace is 27 miles from home and my BOB generally goes 25 lbs, and I average 30min/mile. That means I am looking at about 13 hours to walk home, and am probably going to have to spend a night out. Run scenarios in your head as you commute each day, watching for places along your route that might be suitable for an overnight shelter stop, places to procure water, etc. Keep notes/hand-drawn maps of those resources in your BOB. Anyplace along your route to place a re-supply cache? Stashing an old USGI ammo can with some energy bars and other emergency items in case you need them is wise [robbed of your kit]. One of America's greatest Frontiersmen was Simon Kenton [1755-1836]. Kenton was often robbed by Indians and stashed spare tomahawks, food, and knives in hollow trees and other hides around his area of operation, JIC.
Why wouldn’t you just have a bike? You could be home in less than an hour and carry a decent amount of gear with you easily.
@@Jana-ec7gv
That’s a great comment. I’ve only just found this channel and I was thinking the same thing as you. I have a foldable push bike that I can use as backup. You can also strap side packs onto it. All ya need is a small bike repair kit etc and ya good ta go.
Great video, I sense we will be needing these skills in the near future.
Please let us know if you know about a safe to go???? My son is having a new baby next month and as a 2 year old, as a grandmother I'm VERY worried 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for giving God the glory and honor. So many dont want to offend people. The truth is God is the only one we should worry about offending, not your viewers. God bless you. Im glad I found your channel.
Good info! Gold bond not just for food powder, but also for butt and crotch chafe.. chafing can make every. single. step. Be painful .. and on that note, throw in some leukotape to help prevent/ mitigate foot blisters.
Is there a link for the smaller bag?
This is such a great video! As a nanny I want to protect the kids as I would protect myself. I never know when something could happen!
Another thing people who are new to owning guns tend to forget is MAINTAINING your weapon... If you practice with it often you need to learn how to clean the barrel, oil it up and do anything to make sure it works properly. Nothing will get you killed quicker in a firefight would be your gun jamming on you leaving you unable to return fire. If you EDC a gun even in it's holster it can get clogged up with dust and debris and it can also rust too. If you are going to the range to practice shoot, unload and inspect the gun before and after use.
Young people don't even know what an atlas is.
Baby wipes are good but so is diaper rash cream... If people aren't used to walking and all of a sudden they're made to walk long distances they're going to get chafing... But on top of that it helps with all types of rashes and the zinc oxide can help prevent sunburn if you live in a sunny area...
Can Lucas Papaw / vaseline be a good alternative?
@@rezzac Vaseline is amazing as a fire starter/ chapstick. Carrying some cotton balls with Vaseline on them it's always a good idea. In the Vaseline will help with the chafing... But "zinc oxide" can be used for sunscreen sunburn bug bites an allergic reactions to plants A lot better than Vaseline for those things... Baby rash cream has zinc oxide in it. And it really does a good job with practically every rash you can think of... Including poison ivy.
I forgot most of you guys are dudes and would be uncomfortable with baby rash cream inside of your bags... It's kind of a mom thing to have that on hand 🤣. They do sell zinc oxide cream by itself you don't have to have diaper rash cream...
Being prepared to help others.........awesome! We should all think like that.
Aspirin in your medkit for anyone with heart issues ❤️
Really, you find that people neglect protection? I generally run in to the problem of people wanting to pack 6 guns, 10k rounds, but no room for a first aid kit or food.
added to my first aid kit nail clippers tweezers Q tips . have 1 state map and 3 topo maps of differant areas . i carry a little store that can use fuel tabs or sticks .
I also carry items to use as barter items,
Ty Doug
Add a small fire starter log
Well done!!!! Thank you for taking the time to explain all of this.
Link below for the list??? Dont see that on my phone?
Hello Charity! On phones there should be a tiny little arrow next to the video title. If you tap that arrow, the description will open up. Hope this helps!
@@DougBarry thanks Doug..apprechiate all you and yours do👍i love my camo Trump hat👍
One other thing I HIGHLY recommend is when you have pepper spray and do use it, ALWAYS HAVE EYE DROPS WITH YOU. There will be a chance that some of the spray will get in your eyes. With the eye drops, they'll help you recover faster and also it's something to help relieve you whenever your eye gets irritated.
I paid the $299.00 for the course, I did not get any confirmation of receipt , please advise.
Thank you,

I’m trying to put a few things together, but, I’m 78 years old, I have a terribly bad back, causing lots of pain. I also have an implanted medication pump, for the constant pain from two neck surgeries! In addition, I live alone! My two daughters don’t live very close- one about 3 hours away, but still in Texas where I live; my younger daughter lives in Tennessee with her husband and two small children.
So, what is like to know is how much of this stuff you’re talking about is even feasible for me to do? Or should I just curl up and die when terrorists show up??
Can anyone PLEASE tell me the brand of the small sling bag he showed near the end????
Great information I couldn’t get the free check list great information I couldn’t get the check list to come up heck list?
You also want to have some painkillers in your pack. I will so she just having some Alka-Seltzer tablets in your kid those are not overly important you could do without them what they are pretty nice if you happen to have allergies or you get a cold in short they make dealing with a runny nose a lot more bearable. And they come in different flavors. Maybe consider having some travel tissues too. That way you can blow your nose and you even have tinder for starting a fire.
Went through survival training in the military unless in a direct danger always stop and think calmly about the situation make a cup of coffee and read over your plan ie. You can keep a written plan in your bag along with a inventory this will help focus on the problem
Thank the Lord for this video. I appreciate you helping me fine tune what I am doing
i went to download the checklist but it said “checklist for catholics” so i guess i’m not allowed
Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
The link isn’t working for me. But the info was great!
Nice video. Thanks Moleskin is a good addition toa go bag.
How about an emergency dental treatment kit ?
Wow man. Loved the videos. Just downloaded your check list. Holy water, rosary. Love you man. God bless !
Awesome!! God bless.

Those power packs are really good for blackouts too
If I suffer and I can do anymore to my self,,, I offer it for the atonement of my pride.
Can somebody tell me exactly where we are going and why? How long are we going to be there ? Who is chasing us? I’m truly confused!
Civil unrest and your bugging out for 72 hours or more. Be prepared.

metal mirror, and know SOS in Morse Code.
Cook pot to heat water ?
I hope you all make it! 👍‼✝️
Alcohol wipes
I have a gun in mine
scissors, tape, glue, notepad, charged powerbank for phone, permanent marker, also tweezers can be very useful, change of clothing (light layers)
Where can we buy the the small molle over shoulder bag?
Amazon, under "backpack" or "sling bag"
In the med kit, I put some ammonium and medicine to rehydrate faster.
Correction: Immodium instead of ammonium
Cracking video 👍
God Bless!
Moleskin, scissors and vit b .or c ..my ugly out bag is pretty good. I have a velcro strap, good for pressure .like your fancy one. Hemostats are found at gun shows and tweezers splinters are a bugger
In Northern Canada their civilization goes back 12-13,000 years into the last ice age. I can't imagine their get home bags.
What brand or where can i find that small 7 pound bag looked all over for name or breand and cant see it
would like to see this guy put all that stuff in that small bag... that's the missing link here...
My BO is a natural defense mechanism - my ancestors are French.
Again, "two is one one is none" Does this mean I need to carry two rifles? Well, no. Of course not. So this concept is not applicable to real life. Redundancy is a good thing. Fire, water, sharp blade. Good to have backups. But this "two is one" mantra is silly, because it's application is arbitrary.
It's a General observation that actually many professionals, and those in the military maintain.
Does anyone know where I can get the checklist?
Does anyone else see a little resemblance to Uncle Teddy here?
What's the total dry weight of the bag?
Very good, thank you very much

Great video! SO true the importance of training with your firearm (and also trauma care procedures). There are TWO problems:
1) It's uncommon to find a firearm owner who isn't convinced they're proficient. It's an ego thing. Ever try to make a suggestion as to someone's driving?... same thing.
2) For those who can set their ego aside long enough to seek training, there are many lousy instructors out there. They're more easily identifiable to experienced shooters, but they prey on novices.
What good is it to have a bug out bag if you don't have anywhere to go???
I am in the same situation... I believe that we will be safeguarded Supernaturally by our Guardian Angels. Please, let's not worry. 💛

@CarVee LyfeStylz Don't forget the charity part. Thinking it is all about you is not Catholic. Charity will be needed to help others in need and to keep us human. Things quickly devolve when we view each others as competitors for scarce resources.
There is an old joke about a man in a flood that goes something like this. Boats cames and he said I am waiting for God to save me, helicopters came and he said I am waiting for God to save me and so on. He dies and goes before God and says, what happened? I was waiting for you to save me. God says, who do you think sent the boats and helicopters? The point is faith requires participation. God is giving us the signs of the times and the ability to prepare. Doug is giving us info for a few day bugout, not an off-grid homestead. Peace and blessings to you.
That is part of the planning. The alternative is to bug in. You still need to prep and stock up on ammo...if you can find it. ;)
What the hell is he talking about, is he going on a hike or something. This seems ridiculous, not everyone can have a gun, or has a family! He has been on about this sort of thing for a while. What is he really talking about, because it sounds a little crazy 🤪 who is he running from????
Watch previous videos. But of course it’s easier to judge, nvm.
@@st.patty1416 I tried to watch but I found it boring and I really didn't know what he was into, I don't genuinely know! Is he on about riots, communists, what? I have been watching his stuff most of the year and found them interesting, because I am a Catholic and follow Mass, great Priests, etc., but when he started on this he honestly lost me. Just asked a genuine question, sorry I annoyed you!
Seriously? Are you paying attention to NOTHING that is happening in this country?! Our country is headed for a war darling.
Watch Micheal Voris he just came out with a new news broadcast on church Militant heads are gonna role for left I’m saying. Bug out bag is good for if you have a place you know you can get to that is safe most likely with friends and family out in the country and also if the place your staying for some reason you run out of food or water you will be forced to make a decision weather you have a bug out bag or not
Nothing screams, I am a worthless homeless person than a backpack. You will be heavily discriminated and draw more police attention if you wear a back pack. Don't wear a backpack. Keep your emergency belongings in your car instead. You will attract less negative attention that way.
I'd love to know what part of the planet you live on. In North America, everyone (slight exaggeration) wears a backpack. I never leave my house without one. And yes I said house. I'm a 52 year old home owner and backpacks rule!!!
Well... here is another thought. If you have a phone on you.. whomever is looking for u has no trouble..same thing with your car... whomever we are running from will have no problem tracking you. Technology is great isn’t it?
And if you have to leave/abandon the car...?
