- Everyone's EDC Gear should be tailored to them. This is certainly not a one-size-fits all. However your everyday carry gear should include at least these items. In this video, I go over my EDC Gear, the basics, and what Everyday Carry Gear you should never leave the house without.
I encourage you to take your EDC seriously. Also, remember, Gear DOES NOT equal SKILL. You must also practice with your EDC and know how to use them. All of this we cover in our BR EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS Course which you can learn more about below. Be safe, start preparing if you haven't already and download your FREE EDC Checklist below!

Rosary and Scapular most important to keep the demons away. I am also a Catholic. God bless you for this video. You have made it simple.
I have also:
- a trash bag (will make a shelter/keep me dry in a pinch and it folds up small.
- poncho (in trunk of car.)(same reasons as above but preferable)
- in addition to good shoes, socks
- water filter (the small ones are so small 😄)
- cigarette lighter (it’s small)
- granola bar
But as a girl, I can easily keep these in my purse.
In my tiny little brain I carry:
- Knowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord!
- Favorite bible verses to get you through hard times.
- knowledge of edible plants in my area.
- and an odd assortment of useless jumbled information.
Blessed beeswax candle...I have pepper spray and little knife in my bedroom and on the first floor I was too anxious to sleep So my windows have bars! hey don’t judge me lol I live in a sketchy neighborhood.
I’ve used that in more than ones unexpected downpour. I’ve also used them for impromptu Kidd’s paintshirt! Lol
Garbage bags that is. 😅
HeavnzMiHome 😂I’ve used them so often for various needs outside the House. They are so useful to have
This lady appreciates you dearly. I never thought about keeping a knife with me.
Just be careful in some countries it's illegal to carry pepper spray and knives
Yeah, it's such an original idea. Good grief
Thanks again Doug, for caring for our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Please advise senior citizens who may not have support. Thanks. God bless you !
Great job Doug!!! I'm a Catholic and totally agree with the Rosary. Amen brother!!!
Viva Christo Rey!!!
Fire extinguisher should be shaken monthly. The contents can settle, and shaking it monthly will ensure that it works properly when you need it. Have it professionally inspected yearly.
The Rosary is the first EDC weapon. Plus it's got a 60 round magazine.
California compliant rosary only has 10 beads. :o(
Great list, in addition, I never go anywhere without a multi-tool, million and one uses.
Any recommendations on a decent one to carry?
@@patc1309 I use a leatherman wave its cheap and very minimal
Fieldmaster is what I carry.
Good choices. I carry a SABRE Pepper Gel, Multitool, fire tool, and a tactical flashlight at all times. I keep a Grim Workshop survival card in my wallet as a backup. When you need it, you'll be glad you have it. Be Prepared! "
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved." - Matthew 24:12-13
You must be using a green screen. You're in Texas and your background looks like Maine or Upper Peninsula.
I have a rosary in my car, one in my pocket book, and many here in my condo. Thanks Doug
But how many Bibles do you own and how seriously do you read them and meditate on them, the only thing that matters most, my Sister in Christ. God bless you, and may your faithful prayers help "deliver us from Evil."
The flashlight is also useful to shine in an aggressor's eyes to temporary blind.
Yes indeed! I carry a 1000 Lumen EDC flashlight and that baby will blind you immediately
Yes! Training is vital. Practice. Dry fire with snap caps. Over and over. Excellent advice. Also gloves, yes they can save your hands in an emergency. I have a small multi -tool on my key chain. They are not heavy but I’ve used it literally 100’s of times. Stay safe ☮️
The Tactical Catholic?
CCC - Catholic Concealed Carry?
Thanks for your leadership. Pacifism is NOT for Catholics. I carry a pistol always. Attended several classes and I practice “Dry Fire” (no ammo in the room) and on the range with ammo.
Warrior Poet Society - John Lovell is a good guy. He’d make a wonderful Catholic but is a Protestant. He may welcome the chance to be a guest.
Pacifism IS for some Catholics especially religious but others as well
EDC Rosary tip: rosaries made from jewelry chain are much more fragile than string rosaries.
scapulars.com has paracord strong strings.
@@lisalisa-ge4ic That is COOL!
A few other things to consider, is either a tactical pen or a space pen, if you’re going the tactical route, go with something light to medium weight and bulk. A bandanna you can fold up put it in your pocket, wipe sweat from your head, dry hands, in a pinch toilet paper, and if cotton completely biodegradable. Small chapstick tube, and small lock pick set, with at least one tension wrench, one wave or city rake, and a hook pick.
It’s funny that I carry the same things you do. I do have two more items that I carry daily. I carry the little blue Pieta book in my pocket and a small bottle of holy water in my backpack when I go to work. I also have a get home bag and my body armor in my truck at all times.
Love the holy water idea brother!!! I honestly never thought about it. My Rosary for sure. Great job 👏
My mum always carried Holy water in her car. Since the pandemic I ve started carrying it
Thank you so much for the video.. The view at the window is snowing it’s beautiful place log house so cozy and peaceful God bless you all🙏🏼📿✝️👍🏼
It’s nice to see another prepper who carries a Rosary and a scapular in addition to a pistol
I have seen three videos from you, and I can say that I LIKE THEM VERY MUCH . Thanks
Glad you like them!
Thank you Mr. Berry. This and all your other videos are very helpful and encouraging.
wool blanket /wool shawl /wool scarf /wool gaiter because wool at a campfire is best around sparks. I LOVE wooL
Do you have a link (or just the brand) for the tool that is attached to your keychain (mentioned at 4:10)?
Gerber pry bar tool. You will see several different styles on Amazon.
@@vigahall7529 appreciate it, thank you.
Awesome advice. Thanks!
Doug, you forgot one really important item; A Two by four! It's truly effective between the eyes!
Great video Doug
Doug I wanted to engage you I hope this gets to you. I recently caught your battle ready show on EwTN while I was flat on my back fighting for my life from. Complications of covid. I had to let you know that your message was part of the message that God was giving to me while he had my undivided attention. Along with the March for life and so many things that God enlightened me during this time. You really made a difference for me. Thank you. We appear to have a lot in common. I am a life long martial artist. I have learned to use these arts to heal myself from many sickness and I made a 30 year vocation of helping people with this. I too am a constitutional conservative and a developing internet presence to express my vocation but I too fight first with the rosary and faith. Most importantly I am a Catholic. Hope I didn’t go on to long but I wanted to explain the connection that allowed you to impact me so much. If I can be of any help to your ministry hope to collaborate on that. Thank you.
Thanks so much for your comment. You are in my prayers, and keep up the good work. God bless!
Just one of the best and easy understandable videos stressing the importance of all the essential items to be carried. Acclam
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautifully said! I really like John Farnam style Firearm classes.
Do you carry a prayer book and bible with you every day? I did when I worked for a living prior to retiring. They take up almost no room in your pack.
Doug, What type of Smith and Wesson knife is that?
Do you have a link to the pocket knife in this video? I did not see a link for it in the video's description. Thanks for all you do Doug my God continue to bless you and your ministry in the new year
This is a smith and wesson, but there are lots of options. Search Amazon for "rescue knife".
Couple of throwing knives near the surface is fun. I use them to cut up fruit, only thrown them for practice or to show off to my mates kids so far...
Thanks so much
Is it snowing in Tyler Tx or is this a green screen
watching from the Philippines.
This is great teaching & sharing Doug - thank you!
We could also add a compact Bible or a compact New Testament, a compact Catechism, a couple of Rosaries, sacramentals such as holy candles, holy water, holy oil, holy salt, small crucifix with St. Benedict medal, Miraculous Medal, or any other sacramental of your choice plus a small edifying spiritual book such as: St. Francis de Sales - "Devout Life" or Thomas Kempis - "The Imitation of Christ" or Venerable Maria de Agreda - "Mystical City of God", etc... to keep our spirit and soul strong - praise God!
I pray that you and ALL of your loved ones have a very God filled, healthy, happy, prosperous, safe, and fun 2021!
Pax Cristi!
😇🙏👼🌹💖

Thnks! I wish my husband would think like you....
Thank God for your husband, show him your appreciation as he is, and do your best to be a Proverbs 31 wife in the meantime. I pray for y’all that he will recognize and appreciate you. Do it all for Jesus. (Been there, done that; some years divorce was a temptation, but now we are approaching our golden anniversary.)
Thank you ✝️🙏✝️!!!!
Good video with excellent gear, unfortunately training is a luxury item for me. Finding ammo that you don’t have to “take a loan” out for is few and far between! I can only get to a range once a month if I’m lucky, and then I ration my rounds down range.
Nice video !!
Cool cabin.
Could you please give some special advice to us who have difficulty in walking and breathing and preparing for emergency at home or away
I’m a senior. Keep at least two weeks meds (labeled) in a small waterproof container. Keep some bottled water nearby (12 or 24 pack). Change it out once in awhile (gradually replace). Keep a photocopy of important documents in another location such as a safety deposit box. Keep a list of important phone numbers and medical info in your purse: eg next of kin, doctor, dentist, gas/hydro emergency contact. Have extra batteries for a portable radio, flashlight, or other devices. Carry a whistle on your keychain to use to help someone locate you if needed. Have good shoes to slip into beside your bed. Have an extra pair of eyeglasses handy (I use older prescription glasses for this). Try to have a small magnifying glass in your purse to read small print. Carry an extra rosary and put a small Bible beside your bed or in the car. Keep some canned goods on hand that don’t need cooking or heating that can be opened without an electric opener. Have a basic carry on type suitcase with rollers that is pre-packed with clothes, ID, a few favourite pictures of loved ones. Make sure the pictures are in a waterproof bag, and a few basic first aid supples, a small sewing kit and safety pins. Bring extra heavy duty garbage bags for emery use. The grab and go bag is the most important. Keep a list with you of current med needs. My aunt and uncle had a ten minute warning to evacuate once on a perfectly fine day. There was a possibility of a massive gas leak. All there was time for was to grab purse, ID, walker, and a grab and go bag. The good news was the gas company handled the leak without an explosion.

Thank you so very much for your helpful reply! God bless and may this be a very blessed New Year for you.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What link? Where?
It's inside the videos description for a free download on the EDC gear I recommend.
FYI pepper spray and hand guns are illegal for most citizens to carry in Canada 🇨🇦
😥😮 that is terrible
Collapsible baton? Asp is small, easily deployed, get training and practice, practice, practice.
Might be wrong but I don’t think we are allowed to carry concealed weapons. However a farmer or hunter can get access to a long gun to hunt or protect his livestock.
@@HeavnzMiHome Baseball bat, just be sure to keep a ball and glove too.
@@realjoanna 😂😂😂
Why not use the 10 fingers God provided to say the rosary, saving the space for another tool?
All these items from your list, going in a back pack or camper, or what? Soon one will find you can only carry so much and even that, often is not enough. It depends where your going and for how long.
Every situation differs
Beautiful scene outside your window! God does great work, hey? 😊💜💕
Nice background
Doug Barry: "Guys, never leave home without a bunch of Chicomm shit."
Does Pepper Spray expire???
Browns catheter?
How often have you sawed something with your knife? I would say you haven't yet. Most likely you never will. Think about this, that serrated edge will snag on clothing etc... If you need to use it. However, if that part of the edge is sharp you can use it To carve useful items when you find yourself in a survival situation. Who knows you might want or need to carve a roast or spoon one day.
The serrated side is folded into the handle or put into a leather sleeve when not in use so it shouldn't snag or cut pockets. I think it's a different type of serration than a steak knife.
It would be nice to hear about EDC from a woman's perspective. Maybe your wife or daughter-in-law?? God bl;ess!
I agree
I have all these things as an edc, and I'm a woman.
Womens edc Is makeup and tissues for crying
Also notes for recipes
@@brandonfromkc2815 I guess you are tying to be funny, but I would love to hear more about women's carry. This is a serious issue.
Can I propose another acronym? EDW. Every day wear. Cargo pants. We need the pockets and storage to carry all the EDC items.
My favourite pair of pants honestly are my tactical cargo pants. 😃👍
My most likely scenario to deal with is vehicle failure in a remote location, i.e breakdown, followed by compromised clothing, i.e crapping myself or getting caught in the rain.
Full set of synthetic, light-weight hiking gear, bits and pieces get used far more than 1st aid or any thing else
Grown men should not wear cargo pants.
@@thrulifegear4709 ???? Wearing cargoes means one is a step of the fashion cycle, they come into style at least every 10 years.
Cargo boardshorts, work pants, adventure pants...
@@grantgibson480 grown men shouldn’t wear cargo pants, unless it’s in a trailer park with a pbr in their hand.
@@thrulifegear4709 I like me some cultural appropriation, I go packrafting and trailrunning in cargo shorts. Btw, how's that all related to my initial comment?
THANK YOU MY LORD AND MY GOD FOR BLESSING US WITH AN AMAZING SOLDIER IN CHRIST JESÚS, OUR BROTHER HERE, FOR ALL HE DOES FOR YOUR GREATER GLORY AND FOR OUR SALVATION OF OUR SOULS ETC! AMEN!

nice EDC..... Are you a back pocket wallet guy?
It's snowing ❄️❄️❄️🌨️🌨️🌨️
I don't wear dress shoes for that very reason. If people aee going to shun me because of my shoes they aee not worth knowing anyway. So who cares.
Pepper spray.

TOILET Paper!!!
Good video. Don't forget extra medicine and toilet paper.
S&W knife. You just all credibility
We need better womens shoes....
