After admiring your hair and watching your tutorials, I went for it and had my hair cut like yours this week. And I love it! My color is different but cut and styled like this.
I personally liked the purple, but that's me. I put purple highlights for the first time when I was 57 years old and loved it. I'm thinking of pink this time and I'm in my 60's now. I get "color" bored and always need something new.

My daughter is a licensed beautician so she does my hair. I had her put purple in the front part of my hair. I asked for a lavender but got a deep purple. It grew on me so I kept it.
You always look fabulous!!! I recently had my hair cut to be like yours and I love it! But I asked for some some deep auburn low lights (I’m now a blonde because my hair is actually white) and the color highlights came out bright orange! So I empathize with you-sincerely. At least you were able to get it fixed! And hair grows out. It wasn’t the end of the world. Thank you for all your marvelous videos. I have had that exact same experience years ago....I had dark mixed with these bright orange streaks...made me look like a tiger or that I was a big Halloween fan😂 If you haven't tried a blue shampoo, definitely give it a-go. Blue will help tone down orange and purple helps tone down yellow. I love that you tried something different even if it didn’t turn out like you expected. It’s always fun try. You have the perfect shaped face and head for that cut. I used to have mine very short and spiky but flipped in the back like yours used to be because my head is flat in the back. I wish I could find something short that look good on me. Well Sharalee,this made me smile, because I did the same thing with purple framed around my face a couple of years ago.Crazy rock'n'roller went too far.I instantly regretted it too,but I lived with it.That was actually when I started to cut my hair a bit shorter, just to try and get rid of the purple. Yours actually didn't look bad,but I understand that it wasn't what you were going for. Your end result looks great as usual. I am getting my hair cut Friday and my top,crown and front will be about your length ,while sides will just cover the ears and taper to the back. I am going to try the purple shampoo and conditioner that you mentioned.I love that you took the risk on color, even if it didn't work out.

Oh dear! I’m glad you tried it though! I think it didn’t look that bad. I’ve been getting rainbow hair in my pixie for a long time. It takes getting used to when you first do it and start out slow. I would start with a salmon pink toner or something and work from there. I think the purple was too much to begin with. Try pastel maybe? Xx
Yes, I originally thought about starting with Rose Gold but learned that only lasts for a couple of days at that perfect tone so I thought let's try purple😂. You are one brave woman going for those rainbow colors....good for you!! I bet it looks awesome💕

I think a lot of us have had a few hair adventures! Years ago my sister frosted my hair. Had no idea my hair would turn red with highlights! After a month my stylist gave me some hair color to try to cover it. My hair turned a tad green what a mess!! Honestly!! Sharlee your hair looks beautiful!

I believe a toner after color remover may have greatly helped without damaging your hair so much .I am a hair dresser my self 15 years now ,hope all goes well now
Yes, toner would have been a less damaging option for sure! But I was just worried it might not be enough as those streaks were pretty coppery😘 For whatever reason, toner doesn't last in my hair very long.
Oh my goodness. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing in your video today. I had my hairdresser do the same three weeks ago and I also regretted it. I was wanting more of a burgundy rather a violet. I’ve lived with till my next appointment but it has faded a lot since my last cut. My 5 yr old granddaughter loved it. It was fun but never again. Next cut will be chestnut highlights. Too funny! Now, I’m sure not the !! I think we have all have had at least one these kind of crazy hair adventures! I know I have! I thought I would save money and bleach my hair myself! After figuring out that pulling my hair through one of those caps on myself backwards in the mirror, I ended up just doing it all over and out the box, my color looked like tweety bird! LOL, For real! That was and still is the one and only time I have tried to save money by bleaching my hair myself! TFS this fun story and making us smile amongst all the craziness we live in today! I little added color snd bigoted highlights and I was back to normal within to I time! I think it was just the initial shock of “oh my goodness “WHAT HAVE I DONE?” Lol! 😱🤪🤣 I will never forget her telling me that I wasn’t lying with my Tweety Bird description of the color! Life is full of adventure and as long as we learn from our mishaps, we can always look back and laugh at them (20+ yrs later)! Thinking about it makes me laugh! Thanks and be blessed my friend! ❤️

I don't have thick hair, so highlighting my hair really helps me feel like I have thicker hair!...I am lucky, in that I went to hair school... years ago. I do my own cut and color right now during COVID.... but, think this next time I will splurge and go back to my favorite hair stylist for a cut and color!.... I purchased the Enjoy dry wax based on an older video of yours. I love the way it works for my hair, but I simply cannot deal with the scent. Is there another dry wax you can recommend that works and holds as well but doesn’t have the scent? My hair cut is very similar to yours. Thanks!
Actually, a fresh jar of Enjoy Dry Wax shouldn't have hardly ANY scent at all. Maybe you received an old jar? If you purchased it from Amazon, that could be the case. I've had mixed experiences myself with Amazon sellers and have heard from others that have as well. So far, I haven't found a close dupe for it and definitely not one that is unscented. But I am preparing another batch of pomades/waxes to test so stay tuned!😘

I love the colors. They are cool but the natural ones are warm, so the clash. Also, I would just have put them thinner and closer to the scalp, as well. Just on ends looks paint-dipped. I am over 65 with undercut pixie, and I wear peacock colors on top: indigo, cobalt, teal, deep violet. People (mostly women) comment daily, and yell from cars: "I love your hair!" Of course, this is in NYC.

Re:purple, not to worry, even a "permanent dye" in purple does not stick around. I think purple is super flattering on everyone I've seen it on. I've had purple/lavender/lilac hair for 2 years and only recently gone back to natural color. I probably won't stay natural long, just long enough for the damaged hair to grow out. I have a shorter pixie and will be 63 this year. Like your styling tips a lot.

I did the same thing. I was intending to color my white hair Platinum and ended with Purple! Then my stylist put on what she thought was more silver but instead it was bright pink. So to cover the purple/pink she covered with black. Help! What did your stylist use to take out the color?
Oh dear!!!😱 My stylist used the color remover made by the same brand as the color she used. I think it was the JOICO Color Intensity Eraser. She said it seemed to perform almost like volume 20 lightener. Then, because those strands had been previously dark (before the purple), they were pretty golden toned so she did volume 40 lightener to help brighten up the brassiness. If you have naturally white hair, your stylist should be able to strip the color. You'll need to condition your hair like crazy afterward but I'm sure you'll be happier with the result!

Sharalee, never do a blunt cut on the bottom of the back. Wispy looks so much more feminine. Blunt is how men wear their hair. You look great and it was adventurous of you to try the purple hair. ( I do not have your courage!) I love your new cut however. Hair always grows and one can always change....I do that too.

Welcome to my channel💕 I love that you are considering a pixie cut for summer... I think you can totally pull it off! Just be sure you have a great stylist that will listen to exactly what you want! Since you don't want the nape shaved, I'd recommend going with a longer pixie cut like I used to have. I have several tutorials with this longer cut but I'll link the most popular one😘 I have lost count how many women have told me they are SO glad they took the plunge and went for the pixie. I used to have mine very short and spiky but flipped in the back like yours used to be because my head is flat in the back. I wish I could find something short that look good on me. Well Sharalee,this made me smile, because I did the same thing with purple framed around my face a couple of years ago.Crazy rock'n'roller went too far.I instantly regretted it too,but I lived with it.That was actually when I started to cut my hair a bit shorter, just to try and get rid of the purple. Yours actually didn't look bad,but I understand that it wasn't what you were going for. Your end result looks great as usual. I am getting my hair cut Friday and my top,crown and front will be about your length ,while sides will just cover the ears and taper to the back. I am going to try the purple shampoo and conditioner that you mentioned.I love that you took the risk on color, even if it didn't work out.

Oh dear! I’m glad you tried it though! I think it didn’t look that bad. I’ve been getting rainbow hair in my pixie for a long time. It takes getting used to when you first do it and start out slow. I would start with a salmon pink toner or something and work from there. I think the purple was too much to begin with. Try pastel maybe? Xx
Yes, I originally thought about starting with Rose Gold but learned that only lasts for a couple of days at that perfect tone so I thought let's try purple😂. You are one brave woman going for those rainbow colors....good for you!! I bet it looks awesome💕

I think a lot of us have had a few hair adventures! Years ago my sister frosted my hair. Had no idea my hair would turn red with highlights! After a month my stylist gave me some hair color to try to cover it. My hair turned a tad green what a mess!! Honestly!!

Yes, toner would have been a less damaging option for sure! But I was just worried it might not be enough as those streaks were pretty coppery😘 For whatever reason, toner doesn't last in my hair very long.

After figuring out that pulling my hair through one of those caps on myself backwards in the mirror, I ended up just doing it all over and out the box, my color looked like tweety bird! I purchased the Enjoy dry wax based on an older video of yours. I love the way it works for my hair, but I simply cannot deal with the scent. Is there another dry wax you can recommend that works and holds as well but doesn’t have the scent? My hair cut is very similar to yours. Thanks!
Actually, a fresh jar of Enjoy Dry Wax shouldn't have hardly ANY scent at all. Maybe you received an old jar? If you purchased it from Amazon, that could be the case. I've had mixed experiences myself with Amazon sellers and have heard from others that have as well. So far, I haven't found a close dupe for it and definitely not one that is unscented. But I am preparing another batch of pomades/waxes to test so stay tuned!😘

I love the colors. They are cool but the natural ones are warm, so the clash. Also, I would just have put them thinner and closer to the scalp, as well. Just on ends looks paint-dipped. I am over 65 with undercut pixie, and I wear peacock colors on top: indigo, cobalt, teal, deep violet. People (mostly women) comment daily, and yell from cars: "I love your hair!" Of course, this is in NYC.

Re:purple, not to worry, even a "permanent dye" in purple does not stick around.
I think purple is super flattering on everyone I've seen it on. I've had purple/lavender/lilac hair for 2 years and only recently gone back to natural color. I probably won't stay natural long, just long enough for the damaged hair to grow out. I have a shorter pixie and will be 63 this year.

I did the same thing. I was intending to color my white hair Platinum and ended with Purple! Then my stylist put on what she thought was more silver but instead it was bright pink. So to cover the purple/pink she covered with black. Help! What did your stylist use to take out the color?
Oh dear!!!😱 My stylist used the color remover made by the same brand as the color she used. I think it was the JOICO Color Intensity Eraser. She said it seemed to perform almost like volume 20 lightener. Then, because those strands had been previously dark (before the purple), they were pretty golden toned so she did volume 40 lightener to help brighten up the brassiness. If you have naturally white hair, your stylist should be able to strip the color. You'll need to condition your hair like crazy afterward but I'm sure you'll be happier with the result!

Sharalee, never do a blunt cut on the bottom of the back. Wispy looks so much more feminine. Blunt is how men wear their hair. You look great and it was adventurous of you to try the purple hair. ( I do not have your courage!) I love your new cut however. Hair always grows and one can always change....I do that too.

Welcome to my channel💕 I love that you are considering a pixie cut for summer... I think you can totally pull it off! Just be sure you have a great stylist that will listen to exactly what you want! Since you don't want the nape shaved, I'd recommend going with a longer pixie cut like I used to have. I have several tutorials with this longer cut but I'll link the most popular one😘 I have lost count how many women have told me they are SO glad they took the plunge and went for the pixie. It's super easy to style and very cool during the hot summer months!
