You are attempting to normalize a way of thinking that all people need to be the same or that something is wrong which is not at all what Monty Python was about.
Monty Python actually mocked things like the ideas of mainstream religion not so much individual people. I don't think any of the Python cast or writers were haters of individual rights, quite the opposite.

I call it hate speech light, it's a way to get people involved in hate without touching on more obvious hate issues like race or religion which is usually the next step in the process.
Other easy targets for this which may seem innocuous but kind of aren't are trashing "boomers" "hipsters" and throwing around the term DEI to berate women and minorities in a "slightly" less obvious way. It's all about making hate just a little bit more palatable to people

5.99. Bought this summer. The problem we really have in the US is prices relative to wages. Since 1980, housing affordability has fallen significantly in relation to wages. Even if you have help with a down payment, it's still hard for people to buy now from a monthly cost perspective. BTW, someone should tell Russian TV that skinny jeans are now falling out of favor in the West.
In the USA mortgage rates are fixed for the term of the loan for most loans. The monthly payment (principal and interest) are fixed for 30 years. In many parts of the world the interest rate and payment adjusts periodically.
I bought my home in late 1979. My first mortgage was 11%, that is why prices were somewhat lower.

In the USA, mortgage rate for me is 6.00%. A LOT less than in Russia.
I paid mine off quick. The best way to work on that mortgage is to get an amortization schedule. Then look at paying down that principle as much extra every month as you can. Think about it.
That schedule is a bit of fun: in the beginning you can easily pay a double amount. Gets you to a 15-year pace. I went at a 7 year pace.
And in Europe a mortgage now is around 3-3,5%, and decreasing

Wife and I paid off our mortgage in 2018. I recall our rate was in the 2.75% area, too, back then. According to the Wall Street Journal, as of Oct. 22, "The current median interest rate is 6.75% for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage and 5.88% for a 15-year fixed-rate mortgage."

Ivan. I am in the US. We got our 30 year mortgage in 2019. The rate is 4.25%. A 15 year mortgages would have been about 2.75%. Rates now are about 6.5% and 5%

2.5% for 5 years
3.0% for 10 years
3.5% for up to 30 years and more

I live in California and my mortgage was 2.75% for 10 year fixed rate. This was in 2021 shortly before the house was paid off. Originally financed in 1999 with two mortgages - 9.00% 30 year fixed on 10% of the house and 5.25% 5 year ARM on the remainder. Currently, 30 year fixed rate is about 7% in the US.

25-30% mortgage rate is possible for a potential buyer if the selling price is very low. And people who already own a property with a mortgage will probably have to sell now or in a near future for a very low price. Probably a lot of vultures paying cash are waiting for them. This is not a healthy market.
My house with a big shop and barn is 2.8% in Arkansas. I bought it 3 years ago. I had a VA loan.
Here in Sweden, just 2 years ago you could borrow money almost to zero percent interest. Now things have dramatically changed and I believe that the average interest rate is about 2,7 %, thus ten times cheaper than in Russia. Interesting isn't it????
