    Hy Sakshi thank you for this video ... I have tried to form an example of more than two randomised group design , please check if it is correct? Here is the example:
    For e.g. We are providing intervention to relieve anxiety and we are using relaxation methods.
    So here relaxation breathing is our IV which can further be divided into relaxation by meditation , relaxation by Yoga , relaxation by hypnosis and relaxation by peaceful music.
    And anxiety level will be dependent variable .

    In matched group, we're conducting pre-test and post-test on the same group. So how come it is under between group? Because according to what you explained, between groups will have two or more groups

    I have a doubt 🙋‍♀️
    In matched group design isn't the group is same instead of different tabhi we can take pre test then meditation intervention and then post test. How can this is possible on groups (2).
    Isn't it should come under within group design instead of between group design?
    Because we are measuring both the tests on same (single) group.

    • @MindReview
      @MindReview  2 года назад +6

      Hey, so the thing is in matched group design (with respect to the example discussed) we take a group that is matched on some criteria, take the pre-test of the entire group (measuring anxiety levels), then divide that group into 2 parts randomly (experimental & control). So, the intervention (meditation in this case) goes to experimental group & nothing to control group. After that, both the groups are again measured (post test of anxiety levels). Thus, we are seeing whether the intervention was useful or not, or was it like after a period of time anxiety will automatically go away or is it because of our intervention. So, all these things can be answered. And, it is matched because we are matching the experimental & control group at some level/criteria, be it age, gender, etc...
      Hope it is a little more clear now?

    • @redpearlss

      @@MindReview The groups, along with the demographic criteria can also be matched on the basis of the scores they got on the pre-test right? For example participants who got medium anxiety levels with be grouped as 1 control group and experimental group for example and later matched to compare the post-test results of those groups. The same for high and low anxiety level. Whereas the demographic matching is by default present in all participants..
      Is it true?
