This is a great presentation. The ACE study reviewed adverse childhood experiences prior to the age of 18 (not 5). The presenter relayed so much wonderful info. but this one fact needs clarification. Great and important work!

Dr.. Brenner, enjoyed your speech. Sorry your medical practice closed too. This is most interesting that trendy word you created.....hot spotting. Hot spotting is a way to save HC funds and treat the most ill people. However, most hot spotting is usually the poorest patient with the worst health problem who has the largest HC bills. Is not hot spotting another way to encourage more preventive care? I believe if some clinics were free for the poor and the bill sent automatically to the government it would aid in lower costs. These clinic medical fees would be set certain prices for just the poor indigent who arrive. The other part of spiked high HC costs is the insurance companies only pay certain allowed amount but still making huge profits. Supplies and medications are over priced in for profit medical centers. No one is focusing on the mid cycle process of the HC cost-paperwork, coding, staff development, and the DRG weighted value. Monitoring the front and back end of billing and registration helps but the middle processes be an advantage too check out also.
Really, we need a two tier HC system for America...wealthy and the poor. Thank you for time did presentation!
