The Linothorax was worn not only by Greek Hoplites, and later by peltasts. The Linothorax was worn by Persians, Thracians, Scythians, Etruscans and later by some Galatians (Eastern Gauls). Don't forget that the Monarchical Roman Hoplites wore the Linothorax, as did the Carthaginians. So your statement about the Samnite warriors wearing the Linothorax is very possible, and it's a good call 👍👍

I've learnt about the Etruscans but not much bout the Samnites aside from their fighting style and how they were eventually assimilated by Rome
