I would like to say a BIG 'THANK YOU" for this video. Had an Iphone 7+ and went to an IPhone 12 Max. THis walked me through the SIM card, messages that pop up, transfer... Really appreciate it.
Advice to all, make sure you have a USB c charge adapter and fully charge each phone nd leave connected to power BEFORE STARTING the data transfer quick start procedure My iPhone 12 pro max was only 32% charged and needed to be updated to iOS 14.6. It stalled because the update said needs at least 50% charge, even though was plugged in (annoying as hell they don’t give you a USB c adapter!!!!, some treehugger Greta crap reasons when we know it’s money gouging!Anyway.. Need to hit power button and select shutdown to restart the iOS update process then the quick start thing will restart after that. But if stalled it won’t move unless restart. Lost hours of my time, thanks Apple .

Just got a new phone and the guy at the shop told me the couldn't do the transfer because of their policy (odd...) so he 'gave' me instructions but once I got home, none of the screens he showed me came up. I looked around on Google for help but nothing worked (or was as easy) until I followed this tutorial. THANK YOU for the great content! I will pass along this video to everyone I know who gets a new phone :)

So by doing this transfer, all of my settings, ringtones and passwords will transfer? Everything will be exactly the same and I won’t have to go thru all my contacts and set the ringtones up again?

What if i have apps from different apple id’s? Or apps that has already been deleted in the appstore(main reason i want to do this on my new phone cz i have apps that’s not in the appstore anymore) will it ask for apple id info and login again? Or will it just download by itself without any problems?

I have an iphone 8 plus and I’ll upgrade to 12. I store all my photos in cloud. If I do the setup where it says transfer from my iphone, will my photos also be available in my new phone?
if your photos are in iCloud , than your photos can be accessed from an iPad , MacBook, pc , anywhere you want really. so yes you will have access to your photos from your new iphone , as long as you use the same Apple ID
I'm going to be doing this soon. Can someone tell me if it transfers everything? Like call logs, (recent and missed), voicemails, passwords and other info like it? I know it transfers the basics like contacts and pics/music etc. But the stuff I mentioned above is important to me too. :) Thanks!
it will transfer everything you got setup to backup. use keychain to backup all passwords for example. everything else does get transferred without additional setup
I forgot my password in facebook but i can open it in my older phone can this be help if i set up new iphone to the new iphone that i bought? I mean can i transfer my facebook or any other social media if u set it up in old to new iphone?
It did for me although before i came here I had loads of issues. I restarted my new phone a few times - turns out it was because I hadn't moved my old SIM card to my new phone - that seemed to make a difference for me.

How many GB were you transferring to the new iPhone? I have over 200 GB to transfer and I was wondering how many hours does it take.
