Ive been looking into this program to see if the juice is worth the squeeze. So far from these opinion vids all i see is a lot of non information. What we want to know is what kind of incone can we expect to make? Yes cost of the rental is a factor but at the end of the week/month after allnis said and done what kind of income could be expected? That seems to be the most important thing that needs to be said.

btw now lyft says “drive for any one, Lyft or not - it’s your vehicle while you rent - your choice “ so that’s kinda cool can def do both apps
Actually you can actually do Uber and LYFT (March 2022) now LYFT gives you a personalized car insurance so you can actually driver for Uber and LYFT
No you cannot you cannot drive for Uber with a lift car and you cannot drive for Lyft with an Uber car unless you're doing deliveries for Uber because that way they don't really check what kind of car you're driving they don't give a f***

On March 29th, 2021 Lyft will be raising the rental price of their Express Drive vehicles in the Detroit market from $214.92/week to $269.00/week. Along with that they're lowering the mileage rate from .57 cents/mile to .37 cents/mile.
THESE ARE NOT SURVIVABLE WAGES.
Also have to factor in the price of gas going up. If you are paying $2.92 per gallon and the vehicle gets 35mpg then thats just 8 cent per mile going to gas. So only getting 29 cent per mile. At 29 cent per mile the first 927 miles ($269 / $0.29 per mile) you drive every week for Lyft will be going straight to pay for the rental.
@ 37 cent per mile you better drive everywhere at 84mph to make the up to $31 per hour they are saying you can make in Detroit. ($31 per hour / $0.37 per mile)
still about the same as Truck Driver per mile wages.

That’s like $8 to $12 an hour in the city. I live in Arizona and LYFT would always throw 15 to 26 mile rides at me. They’re about 20 to 50 minute long. That’s a little over $9 for 45 to 50 minute trip. I own my car and I pick and choose the rides I do. I like to get $2-$3 a ride minimum. I have done $5 to $10 a mile. From 1:30 am to 7pm I made $419.15 running both UBER and LYFT. I did rest for a couple of hours and got back on the road to make some of that Surge money. I still gotta do Friday night surge.
I am here because I want to take a vacation across country in California for a month. I think if I became a lyft driver to go across country and back I would make like 10 grand... but if I'm paying $270 a week it might be a lot less. Get a job as a live-in assistant provides free place to stay, and make $5000 a month extra. Then during the day I can enjoy the life.

@@haydayprettyfarm4070 it's a medical/caregiver job. You live with the elderly person so if they fall down in the middle of the night you're there so they don't die. You might have to make them meals and do laundry, simple stuff. You basically just live with someone for night-time emergencies and get paid to live there.
You can't drive across country, only in the state which you live.

It's already different. They don't give discounts and they do allow you to drive for both platforms. I just liked Lyft but Lyft changed my mind for me lately after reaching platinum status.

I live in Phx and i talked to a dudge earlier about renting and he said its worth it compared to dong Doordash full time. i told him im making 10-15 on dash... and he said ya... drop that and go talk to lyft tomorrow, thats what im lookin gat this vid for :) ty
1,040 a month. Buy a brand new car car like a seltos or a trailblazer and pay around a max of $800 a month with insurance included. The car won't need maintenance in no less than a year since it's new.

One important question about your helpful video.. how long does it take for a rental car through the express program to become available..? I understand you probably can’t pin point it but any ruff estimate based off of your experience would much appreciated please LMK & thank you in advance. I currently just started my wait time for a rental to become available in Los Angeles if it helps to answer my question.

Question. You mentioned that using the Lyft Express program is a good alternative to using your own car due to the wear and tear rideshare driving creates. But then you mentioned that you also rent your personal car through Toro. So, I'm assuming you are gambling that the customers renting your personal car won't be putting nearly as much wear and tear on your personal car?
how is that gambling ? One or two humans (person renting and their spouse) compared to literally hundreds potentially thousands of humans per month/yeAr in your cAr ???? renting to one person vs Rideshare passengers & miles is the entire difference dude
@@GDMartin I recently had my Uber driver tell me all about her Toro renting business nightmare. She had to pay for thousands of dollars in damage done to a few of her cars that were not covered by her insurance company because she was renting the car. Think about it....its one thing to have a passenger in your ride share car with a dashcam looking back at them to record everything and quite another to hand your car over to a stranger to possibly abuse. That is a BIG gamble! Even large corporate car rental companies refuse to rent their cars to people who don't meet certain criteria such as driving record but those same people could most likely be allowed to hop in an Uber.

I understand what you mean but you can charge more if they put more miles then what is set. And of course she would but a lot with plenty cars… or she she wanted you to leave a nice tip. Don’t always believe what you hear. Do your own research or experience it yourself.
The good thing that you save money from the insurance. Here in Florida I have to pay 454 dollars for insurance, gas, and maintenance is expensive shit.

No but keep a thousand bucks aside for a potential accident because you are responsible for the deductible for any accident you are in whether you’re at fault or not.

I don’t know if you know this yet but yes you can as long as you so the minimum required rides that lyft requires for the rental in my case is 20 rides
If you want to get paid more use your own vehicle if you rent from them the fares will be very low

1. He turned one source of income into 2 by driving the rental and then renting his car out.
2. When you rent a car you rarely drive for 8-12 hours a day while you have it.
He would be puttin 200-300 miles a day driving his personal car for Lyft but someone that is in town for the weekend isn’t doing the same

Has any1 ever picked up a lyft passenger, then almost gets to the drop off and they cancel the trip almost at the destination? This might be a scam . I had this issue tonight , even though I dropped them off I didn't get paid for it cause they canceled
With Lyft, a rider cannot cancel a ride after the driver swiped 'pick up', I've heard it happening with Uber, but not Lyft.
