I tweaked 3 different aim assist settings (one for characters with hit scan weapons, one for characters with projectiles, and one for melee characters), but I do know the aim assist is not like fps games. Like I’ve done really well with Hawkeye, but most of the time it’s just been 60% luck/40% skill getting kills (at least for me). Didn’t really feel like aim assist was holding my hand. I’ve even had times where aim assist actually messed with my aim when I was trying to destroy Loki’s aoe healing things.

I can't launch the game. When i click play the game loads to the side covering most of the screens, but i can barely see the launch button. When i click it the game just closes itself and re-open. Then it tells me to update drivers. When i do so it brings me to Drivers and Support but idk what to do there. Fyi im not that advanced at these kind of stuff and im not familiar with any of these things
Thanks for the XeSS tip! Playing on my desktop with an RX 6600 has been awful so I connect my laptop with an RTX 3060 Laptop to my monitors to play every time which is a pain. Hopefully this helps
I’m surprised how bad it runs seeing as overwatch runs for me at 60fps all settings medium. On low for all settings, I barely get 30fps, with things taking forever to load in. Anyone have any suggestions for a better performance experience?
@@thatguy2920 Marvel Rivals is still listed as (?) under Steam Deck verified lol, that's why I made this video in the first place. Give it time, it just came out so they haven't had time to optimize it for the Steam Deck yet.
Over watch is extremely optimized I’ll give it that it always has been. It’s not really fair to compare it to most other games even clones bcs none of them literally none of them run as well as overwatch. Most AAA games don’t run as good as overwatch

@@drmariopepper4354 sometimes you might have to use the touchscreen for games that aren't fully supported, I know for this game and Halo Master Chief Collection I had to use the touchscreen for the account creation screens.
I used the settings you're using and the game just crashed while trying to load me into a game. This also happened with team fortress 2. Do you have any recommendations on what i should do? And is it safe to assume that others will experience this? Or am i doing something wrong? I just got my deck a week and a half ago
@ColinTheGamerReal nevermind, I got that fixed However I do have another issue right now, I managed to get it running on desktop mode but I can't close the game from this mode, keyboard wont pop up and the steam button doesn't work, so I'm stuck in the "add your name" screen
@xanvasanx for screens like that I had to use a combination of the touch screen and virtual keyboard, but once you've created an account you won't have to do that again.

Hell I gotta get my rog ally and test it but if you have the Oled version of the steam deck the frame gen should work nicely and feel good even on a small screen
@@ColinTheGamerReal the description of v-sync is that is syncs the refresh rate to match the framerate to reduce screen tearing, but in most cases there is no visible difference and sometimes it might even worsen performance
@@ColinTheGamerReal 🤷♂️ it probably varies from person to person, but most people i have talked to about it seem to get a performance drop. And no one has told me that they actually experienced screen tearing when they didn't enable it
@@michealhargrove333 I would imagine so, I think the only thing they improved on the OLED model is the display, battery, and the RAM is better but everything else should be roughly the same.
@@DrFrannk it wouldn't matter that much lol, native obviously looks worse but even on the performance setting it will top out at 40 FPS for a single second than go back to struggling in the 30 FPS range. Intel is better in literally every game I've played.
@@ColinTheGamerReal You don't understand upscaling if you think it doesn't. Native means your running the game at native resolution. so its not even doing anything regardless of what you select. Depending on which setting you select it will run the game a lower resolution then upscale it. Performance will usually run the game at 50% resolution. where quality and super quality will run at 70 or 80% resolution. Im using LCD Steam deck all low settings with super quality FSR and get a pretty consistent 40 to 45fps. Proton experimental
@@DrFrannk regardless the point is that all of the AMD modes run like trash, so instead of fiddling with the settings to get worse performance you can just turn on Intel performance and not have to do anything else lol
@@ColinTheGamerReal I think the commenter is trying to say is that the FSR mode doesn't turn on if you stay at native resolution. I didn't understand this for awhile with my own deck. In order to get FSR to work right, you need to lower the resolution, and also set borderless window. You can check to see if it is working right by setting the performance check UI (that shows in top left when on) to the maximum setting then looking for "FSR ON". If it shows off, then it is not enable correctly. This is all because the FSR is upscaling from a lower resolution to save performance. If you are already at the maximum resolution (in this case native for the deck's screen), then FSR can't do its thing. In any case, thanks for the video. I will go ahead and install it on my own deck. And yeah, Venom is darn cool.
You used the "Native" setting on AMD FSR which is why the FPS is low. You realized this mistake when you switched back to Intel XeSS with "Native" setting and got 17 FPS. But you conveniently skipped the part where you switched it back to the "Performance" setting. What a joke.
@@0uHiroshi I explained in the video and commented that it doesn't matter how you tune it, Intel always runs better than AMD FSR. I left it on native to show its standard way of running, but even doing AMD FSR performance mode it still runs between 30-40 FPS. Before I play any game for the first time on the Steam Deck I play with the settings for at least an hour before I find what works best.
Also when I switched back it was on Intel performance but it takes a couple seconds for the frame rate to stabilize, there's a cut there because I messed up my words lol
Plays alright, i lock my fps to 45 and its pretty stable with the right settings. No aim assist unfortunately

The reason the amd FSR setting sucked was because it was set to native. You’ve gotta turn that down.
Low fps actually lowers dps sadly. It may be a bug and patched but you will be at a disadvantage on your steam deck.
I get a black screen after loading and it just stays like that. Tried all the possible protons out there....

Hopefully it gets optimized, Overwatch 2 runs at 90fps pretty consistently and I’d say it Overwatch looks better. Rivals looks more fun though.

I haven't tried TF2 yet, but I have heard some people here having issues running Marvel Rivals. Personally I haven't run into any issues yet.

Usually I feel like the frame generation messes with the latency while playing.

For me it's just in the Steam store, I just searched Marvel Rivals in the store and it popped up.
You need to uncheck the verified games only tag. It's currently not listed as verified.

AMD 2 or 3 will sometimes look good but Intel always looks better so it's not worth choosing anything else.
