It prob work because you can open the desktop and then play there you might need to tweak some setting first tho
Whats cool is you can even back out of the steam big picture mode and use it for complete control over the PC, not just steam
but if you're in big picture mode you can only control the games?

if your pc doesn't have bluetooth and dont want to buy a dongle. you can just use steam link, connect your mobile, disable audio and video output to reduce latency. connect controller to phone instead and play on pc

I guess it's about connecting a bluetooth controller to your pc while not connecting a bluetooth-dongle, using your phones connection via wifi.
I do this acctually. I had my controller which I bought 4 years ago now that I have my pc I use steam link connect controller to my phone disable audio lower brightness and use the controller as Bluetooth then enjoy the games

Bruh, I was wondering why it lag so much for just half life 2.
I'm a secuity guard I get a lot of free time at work for last year I got caught up with all my tv shows and moves netflx hulu etc, Basicly I ran out of shows to watch. I have a really good gaming pc at home but i'm not allowed to bing my desktop setup to work.
If i could run my steam games through my phone at work that would be amazing.

Laptop , steam deck would be cool but you have a good gaming PC. Cooling wise desktop is best anyway, and maybe cost wise too
If there would be a way to remotely wake up the PC if im away that would be cool
And yeah if it would restart on driver crash and whatnot , as steam starts automatically anyway

If you want to save energy. There's an option in window that allows your PC to just turn off its monitor screen only. So you can do this and save energy. It's not sleep mode, this is just simply turn off your monitor.

So here's my predicament, my pc is upstairs and my house is to small to have it in living room. I play switch with my family but neglect my poor pc in my room. This option is free like mentioned,, so in theory, if I buy FF9 on steam for the mods, I can play it downstairs on tab or phone. 🎉

Laptop or desktop doesn't matter, internet is the key and your computer should actually be able to run the games.
Yea my 2019 Msi handles it pretty good I mean the most graphically intensive game I have is red dead 2 but I really don’t play it so it’s probably internet based unless your laptop doesn’t even have a gpu

No, both devices must be logged in to Steam network. So both need internet access, but the stream itself will use your home network.

Yes. You can use it normally over wifi even though wifi is not connected to the internet.

No, there's no way to play pc games without a pc, it's physically impossible. Your device wouldn't be able to handle the game.

Well if you have a good pc and a good cooling system... Leaving your computer running all day is not a problem at all....
@@LunaNK22that, good CPU VGA , PSU cooling and some case fans atleast. Plus should have quite some mesh , so not something sound proofed or glass

On pc you could just turned off your monitor if you want to save a little bit of energy. On laptop there's an option in battery settings to turn off your screen only, but leave the CPU GPU running

What kind of phone do you have that can out perform your laptop? It's just physically impossible for phones to play pc games. Even if the phone has better hardware, it still lacks a good cooling system. So your phone would explode

Ő Talks about the steam link app waking up the PC , so that it doesn't have to run idle all the time. I mean if the components aren't high idle power it's ok.
It wakes it up on wifi but not on mobile data , I think it's some sleeping package or something else

I have always been attracted by that remote gaming phantasy but always disappointed with the lags. Could play Hades properly for instance ? You use RE4 footage but are you experiencing some input lag when moving ? Is accepting lags part of the experience of steamlink ?
was thinking of getting a Razer Kishi to use for Steam Link, and play some of my pixel 2D games while i'm away
I got one, it's okay I really recommend the Razer Kishi V2, a little more solid IMO, it also have a hardback on it instead of the floppy back on it. It's up to preference tho
Highly recommend it. I use the Kishi to play Steam Link all the time. It feels a lot better than I expected it to.
I have a problem. Whenever I start the non steam game my controller behaves like a mouse keyboard instead of like a ps5 controller. Anybody had the same issue?

I did all the steps but whenever I launch the Link my phone screen stays black and the PC screen changes to "phone" screen. I have no idea what causes this switch...

Yeah, as long as you have stable connection and your phone and steam link are properly paired, you can for example, start your game at home on wifi, then get in the car, go to the store, play at the store, then go to a restaurant and play there.
It's just remotely controls your PC and streams the video back to the phone.

It won’t turn on or off by itself, but you can exit big picture mode on Steam Link and it’ll open your desktop. Once you’re there, use the mouse to shut down the computer manually

Tried to run a non-steam game, the game booted fine the issue is the steam link app sees my controller as a mouse. Ive searched all over for a solution. Any help here much appreciated

In the settings you can desactive the mouse
That's because most other platforms don't recognise playstation controllers, you'll have to download a software like DualSense that makes your controller pick up as a Xbox one then it works

You can do this function with ps5 but unless you paid 100 dollars for that nice looking streaming ps5 mobile device then you can’t just use the phone to stream the ps5 from any network. You’d have to use the network that the ps5 is connected to.

@@Marcosygian not really, if u have a good cooling system, your PC will be okay, this has been tested and proved by many experts already. Your electrical bill however.....
