But I think we shouldnt celebrate a 10 year old car still working 😅 If it runs after 15 years and 500.000km we can celebrate, but a car still running after 10 years and less than 200.000km is nothing impressive.

I know MCU1 also gets one a year or so an update but not sure how much is there in terms of features. Thought MCU2 also misses more and more new features, it recently received things like destination charging level, search along the route which are small bits that are really useful. A few years back they added also in the nav whether the search results are open or not, in red or green, making it easy to chose when you searched a type of business (eg restaurants or shops or …). They also added now the pictures and comments that are in Google map on your pc or Mac. Then there are all the multimedia apps that works perfectly well. And the games. I honestly have not much use for those, as the kids are too old now, but whenever I’m waiting in the car, it’s nice to have. MCU1 had become so laggy that it made the car feel old. MCU2 keeps it contemporaneous.

This has plagued our car since day one. I had plenty of service call during the warranty period, nothing helped. I recently spent some time on it and noticed that the door is slightly misaligned, and it rubs a little against the car body. Impossible for me to realign (not confident enough), but sanding down a little bit the plastic edge of the door where it rubs did help. Not 100% but improved.

These videos are very interesting, the main concern with electric cars is the battery lifespan over the years. Even a car that is not of the most recent design seems to show an encouraging result, suggesting that the battery pack can match the car's lifespan. We will see in the coming years; ideally, the batteries should last 20 years

Too bad you can't see the voltage imbalance between the cells. With old batteries this is a problem especially at low state of charge and under load, a larger drop on one of the cells can then mean sudden battery failure, i.e. battery disconnection or at best turtle mode.

An automation on the phone to turn on the mobile hotspot when connected to the car via BlueTooth, and the car might connect automatically (once the hotspot has been used and is a known network), or at most a couple of taps might be required to connect, and in effect, the car then has 5G...
