I also own and work with mazda. When you want to do a performance air intake NEVER leave your air filter exposed to engine heat because that will drastically reduce power and performance. What I did in mine is simply keep the old airbox and install a performance filter than install heatshields to prevent heat from resonating outwards. But after installing ANY engine performance kits like air filters/headers/dowpipe..etc. you have to do an ecu tune because the stock engine won't recognize any of the modifications done. Don't go for the easy plug and play chips but go to a professional and have it custom tuned.
Zero Tolerance Well said! Hopefully he checks this out. I also own a 2015 M3 and am curious if you know how it will respond to mods if tuned? Its already a great car IMO and i feel like they’ve done a lot especially with those crazy exhaust headers

I talked with a British dude who owned (it got wrecked...) the severely under-power iSport model with 110 hp (since it was European spec), but managed to get it tuned all the way up to 180 hp or so. I haven't gone that far with mine yet (trying to clear my credit card debt and pay off the '04 Miata I impulsively bought almost 2 years ago), but I'd love to get a nice boost from 155 that's for sure, lol.
MTJY you just kill your battery if you run you lights all the time, and you are so adorable i have mazda 3 too and zero is right some mods will activate check engine light and some will keep you fan on or off both tramatic and simple look at mazda foru. would show you three easy ways to hook those first lights up so not to have constant draw on your battery,

The mazdaspeed 3 came with a 2.3L turbo engine but sadly they stopped production in 2013. It was still fwd though:(
Well you're lucky Alex, the 2019 model will probably be available in both FWD and AWD. No news about the turbo yet though.
@@micheledamian8671 hey man I sell mazdas, they will be supercharged with the new genX engine, and Mazda chief of r&d confirmed the current 2.5 turbo does fit in the 3 but has no plans at the immediate time to pursue. But soon a Awd 6speed 2.0 supercharged 16.1 static compression 3 will be on my lot and show floor prolly in June or July.
Why are you so obsessed with turbo? Sure it gives you boost but at the cost of reliability. Just look at Honda. They've jumped on the turbo bandwagon and their reliability went to shit. My friend bought a 2018 civic and it started leaking oil because the heat from the turbo caused the gasket to prematurely deteriorate. Econoboxes can't handle high temps. I'd buy the Mazda3 because it's a good looking reliable econobox. If I wanted to race, I'd drive my miata. Naturally aspirated all the way.

damn man nice video! I just sold my Mazda 3 iSport nothing special but I planned on keep it and Modding it out since I had no idea of when Mazda was going to release the next Speed Car. But then last month I blew a Main Rod in my Engine. smh.. Still I was going to keep it but decided to sell it. If I would of found this video, it would of gave me that determining factor to still keep it and do an Engine swap smh... but from and extremely small start RUclips Channel to another small but taking off channel. Nice job! best believe I'll be creating videos of my next Mazda when they finally release the details on the next Speed version haha.. Plus I just subbed. Hearing that you had only 450 subs when you made this video less than 6months ago... Nice to see that you have over 2k now.. Motivation. Im currently making a video right now lol.. And let me say learning everyday on how to get better editing is a must lol

I like the plasti dip on the front I have mine vinyl wrapped as well as the chrome trim around the windows it makes subtle but very nice difference . Can't wait to see your next video !

I just did an add-a-circuit for my DRLs into the O2 sensor. That only runs when the ignition is on.
Yo, quick notes on your default running lights, you can actually turn them off via software! I have DRLs in my 2015 3 and I was able to look up the sequence to turn off the high beam running lights.

just want to know on your DRL LED fog light it doesnt say it fits on mazda 3 2016 on Ebay... but it should defenitly fits since it's the same thing as the 2014 and 2015... so why did'nt they listed the 2016 year on their page? can someone comfirm it will work? pretty sure it will . thanks you!

You can also pull the fuse for the running lights. It only is for the running lights and the brights and everything else still works. That's what I did.

Performance is hindered due to engine soak. Put a heat shield around the air filter with a cold air feed from the front bumper.

where did u get the carbon fiber looking stuff for the steering wheel
So with those intake kits, ya want to look for something that has a heat shield. Basically trying to separate it from the rest of the engine and keep that heat out. Keep the filter as close as possible to the air inlet in the body. I plan on getting one of those with an HKS turbo kit for my Toyota 86. It's difficult tho cuz of the heat that you're battling with. Generally, if ya want reliable performance outta those, some modification is usually necessary

you made it cool man, but about the air intake you should really think about to get the cold air intake, which has a steel pipe and a box to prevent the extra heat ! i got a 2015 hatchback too !! i just installed the remote, and plasti dipped the emblem, next step will be cold air intake and full exaust system ! :-)

The only way to not have the urge to trade in your current mazda for the next generation mazda. I want the 2019 one so bad but I don't wanna be in debt again. So modding my current mazda to be unique is the only thing to love my car again.

So about your HID bulbs. What k did you replace them with? I have a 2014 and the stock HIDs look extremely dull at night. They are brighter than halogen, but do not look like a typical HID brightness and color.

MTJY hey so when you replaced your HIDs did you notice like a night and day difference in brightness? It was snowing here this morning in MN and while driving my current factory HIDs were barely illuminating the road.
I got a 2016 Mazda 3, base model of course 6 speed manual, for exhaust I got a resonator delete, flowmaster outlaw and some echo tips and the car sounds way better than you would expect from a 2.0L I realize I am 2 years late on watching thos video

If you were to pick today and had no experience with hatches would you pick civic hatch or mazda3? I'm having a hard time picking even after test driving it. The civic felt slightly better but the mazda looks slightly better and less space
Civic type R or just normal civic? TBH I like how the new civic looks, but I haven’t test driven one. Judging by the reviews on RUclips, Mazda3 seems to be better (if you’re comparing the normal ones). If I had no experience, i would do as much research and find tons of comparisons reviews about it, then only I’ll make my decision. Best to just test drive both as much as you can, and make your decision. ✌🏻
MTJY if mazda3 had more trunk and rear seat room I'd get it immediately over the civic. When I test drove it I knew it had a cvt (sadly) but it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. The mazda just looks better like the styling
Tech Defender my brother drives a Mazda 3 sedan and he told me the new civic is actually not too bad which he is considering to switch to that. To me, Honda isn’t the same old Honda I once see it to be. Also sounds like you already made up your mind haha. The Mazda does have a very aggressive looks if you style it well

As far as I know, you can turn off that light using the car system. I think I read something like that in the manual....

I have a 2014 Mazda 3 I sport. I want to make my car look a little nicer. I need some new rims so any suggestions would be much appreciated. I want to plasti dip the badges and the bumper like you did. How would I go about that bc I have no experience what so ever with cars?
Wheels are expensive if you buy them new. so remember that. you need to find wheels with a 5x144.3 bolt pattern, and want to get a size 17inch or 18inch. there are videos on how to plastidip on youtube that help a lot. cars take a lot of learning, just be patient and have fun. good luck
