Bodhisattvas with crossed ankles

This video looks at a specific iconographic form that shows Bodhisattvas seated with their ankles crossed. This particular iconographic form is found in Gandhara, along the Silk Road and is particularly widespread at the cave temple complex at Yungang, near Datong, in the northern part of the Shanxi province in China.
