Avalokiteśvara's tiger skin
Просмотров 2763 месяца назад
Avalokiteśvara's tiger skin is an iconographic feature that developed in Maritime Southeast Asia and appears to have been inspired by the tiger skin worn by the Hindu god, Shiva. The tiger skin is only present in images of Avalokiteśvara when he is standing and there does not appear to be an iconographic rule for when the feature is included. Early Chinese Buddhist Sculpture
Просмотров 1534 месяца назад
The sources of the earliest Chinese Buddhist images were the kingdoms of Central Asia, that in turn were in contact with the Buddhist kingdoms in Gandhara. From these areas under western classical influence, the Chinese took iconographic forms and sculptural types, absorbing, at the same time, other Indian sculpture styles. The most extensive surviving early Chinese Buddhist remains are large c...

Vishnu bhagwan??? 🤔🤨
Avalokiteshvara is Mahayana Buddhist Bodhisattva.
@tiptop7327 inspired by hindu god vishnu 🙂
@@redronn1031 no avalokiteshvara is different. What makes you think he is vishnu he is more related to Shiva.
@@redronn1031 early avalokiteshvara was mostly 1 arm god depicted in Kushan art later hundreds of arms plus weapons were added.
which is older vishnu or alokateshwar ???
Isn"t it time for a female buddha?

Northern Pakistan? Please date it back to beyond 70 years. Pakistan is a new country that was once INDIA. She is from ancient India. Buddhism is a subset of Hinduism.
Buddhism is subset of hinduism 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Any prove ? don't mix civilization with religion
Very interesting channel. Few content creators focus on art and their stories. Please keep making videos!

Is it possible that the iconography of Maitreya inspired Avalokiteshvara?
Thank you for your question! The iconography of Avalokiteśvara and Maitreya developed simultaneously, but it took time for certain elements to become fixed. Maitreya's early iconography has similarities with that of Brahma and Avalokiteśvara's iconography in his ascetic form is influenced by that of Siva, as we can see in the Buddhist caves of Maharashtra.
She went from eating babies to becoming a diety...i guess there's hope for everyone 😂😂

I see some similarities to pict artwork in some of these

Max Muller and several Jewish scholars claim this story created the first legend attributed to Solomon. It was probably brought West with the missionaries of Ashoka whose edict claims to have sent missionaries to the same Ptolemy (Philadelphus) said ti have commissioned the Septuagint
She was also who the original Kaaba was dedicated to at one time, as per the accounts of Al Biruni and Rashid Al Din who both detail that the Quryash tribe of the Mecca (Petra) were Buddhist both before and during the time of Muhammad.
@@NarasimhaDiyasena excellent remarks, thnxs 🙏 the Quryash are probably the Indian Kurus who married into the Gautamas and the Kambojas just as the names Cambyses (Kambojas) Codomannus (Gautama) are found in Cyrus' family. Muhammad (Maha-Metteya) birth name Quthim is probably a rendering of Gautama and the Buddhists claim to have converted the Kambojas of Balk during the Buddha's lifetime
Thank you all for watching and commenting.
@@danielhopkins296 you brought up Balk. Is this Balkh Afghanistan? If so, that is the location of the ancient Shambhala. Which means that that is where King Suchandra who provided Gautama the Kalachakra Tantra resided. Before Manjushri, King Suchandra, Gautama (Gomata the Magus), and Sumana Saman made up the Shakyamuni Triad (3 Scythian Priest Kings). Balkh is super important. During the Caliphate period Baghdad was recreated into a circular city as an inspiration of and to be a sister city to Balkh/Shambhala. It is from Balkh that the spiritual ‘Golden Age of Islam’ emerged, later stiffled by the Arab zealots. The absorption of Buddhism into Islam produced the Sufi, Batiniyya, and Shia orders, which can be collectively referred to as ‘Buddhislam’. During the Mongol period after the sacking of Bagdahd and the reconsecration of Balkh, this ‘Buddhislam’ was became more mainstream, as Buddhists and Muslims synthesized. It is there where Rumi was buried, and not too far off where Ali was buried
Astrologers and all scriptures researchers, say Maitreya should be in Southeast Asia, Malaysia or Indonesia. Malaysia has the first attention in it
Yes. True
Married this one and she's way more than you think
Buddhism doesn't teaches about god or goddesses. They teach about Buddha, so that people get enlightenment. Buddhist doesn't believe in gods. Gods doesn't exists. Tara is known as Buddha too. There are dieties and numerous Buddha's in Buddhism. Buddha was Born in Lumbini, Nepal. Buddha is known as awakened one. Buddha crushed a Monkey about two heavenly boulders and defeated Mara too.
Thank you for watching and commenting. You are right that Theravada Buddhism focuses on the Buddha, but with time, Buddhism evolved to incorporate Bodhisattvas such as Avalokitesvara and Manjusri, along with the future Buddha Maitreya in what is often referred to as Mahayana Buddhism. Along with Bodhisattvas came their consorts such as Tara and Bhrkuti. In Buddhist texts, they are named devi which scholars have translated as goddess. However, in more recent times, they are named 'female deity'. Goddess is the older reference, but still much in use.
Very interesting, lots to unpack there, thank you!
Thanks for watching!

With all the differences let’s find some common ground , all these peoples claming diffrent heritage but 😂😊 you are all born with the mark of the ancient Monpas , later also called the mongol mark , the blue birthmark all is you are born with and later dissolves , mongols being one of the inheritors, from the Tibetan plataue where my kaliash also called mt meru but originally called kora koram now the whole mt range is called the korakorrum range, believed to be the center of the world with its peak somewhat allined to the four direction of the compass and from wher the four great rivers of Asian begins also has a salt lake and sweet water lake , The Tibetan platue was once just called ling/ Mon and the monpas the most ancient of the Asian dna comes from, so they say !!! Rest from Tibetans Chinese Koreans viets , all Asians looking ppl all the way to the people of South America are just their off spring. With the same dna markers and same blue mark on their backside 😂😊 And the ancient symbol also used by the mongol empire , the most ancient symbol on the left Basically the Sun and moon with the three pointed flame and also diving falcon and also the trident 🔱 which is also a weapon but also symbolises the past present and future but unlike the Mongolian flag there is a six sided star or two diffrent triangles that makes up the star. The three points that make up tue first triangle signifies , father mother and child ( the base for family and by extension to base of society and the second triangle signifies knowledge will and action and the dot in the middle signifies the individual who is the center / beginning who has trained in knowledge and has the will to take action leading his society and civilisation forward And the individual practices to better himself by gaining knowledge does physical exercise to reach his/ her physical optimum And sits in meditation to better understand his / her knowledge and physical form and mediate into the beyond and the fourth which balances out the individual is to do service for his neighbours , while conducting his own private life be it in business ets but to keep in mind charity and extending help to the less fortunate So basically an individual who exercise , reads and does mediation and is also a helpful neighbour Who will one day marry and create a family based on knowledge will and action and the sun and moon signifies living in harmony with nature . So find your inner superman my mediating , studying and exercising and be a good neighbour ❤❤❤
that looks amazing

Is it a giant Mandala?
There has been a lot of academic discussion surrounding the question whether Borobudur was built to represent a mandala. However, the quick answer is no. If you want to read more about it, I would recommend: Klokke M.J. (1996), Borubudur, a mandala? A contextual approach to the function and meaning of Borubudur. In: NN NN (Ed.), IIAS Yearbook 1995. Leiden: IIAS. 191-219. It looks at different aspects of the question.

Can you do ancinet art in Burma
Thank you for your question. Yes, I can incorporate art from the Pagan period.

It's fascinating to see these pieces. You make a point about "the usual lack of a lower jaw" in kala heads from central Java, yet the gold armband kala clearly has a lower jaw. What would you say is the significance of this? Is the gold armband perhaps an import from someplace where lower jaws are more usual on kala heads? Or is this indicative of the age of the piece, pre-dating (or post-dating) the usual practice? Or just that, as jewellery it is serving another function?
Thank you for your question! The presence of the lower jaw helps us date the armband to the later part of the Central Javanese period as it became a fixture in later art seen in East Java.
