    This scene is way deeper than you think, if you really look at it, here are the facts
    • lil ze gets rejected by a girl when trying to for once do something innocent
    • his bestfriend that he loves, leaves him & dies that night
    • and then also if you remember in the scene of lil ze’s birthday, no one was really there to celebrate it with him, it was literally only benny who was there for him, but then when it’s benny’s farewell, nearly the whole town went to celebrate for benny.

    • @MaReiss7
      @MaReiss7 5 лет назад +152

      Is still deeper, because in lil ze's birthday, when he receives the new name, the "santeria priest" is clear while say that he can't have sex using the "guide" (a necklace). But he forgot it at the moment where he raped Chicken Manny's wife and lost virginity.

      A mesma coisa acontece quando legendam/traduzem filme do português pro inglês. Não adianta escrever "Raul Seixas" na legenda se ninguém que tá lendo vai entender a referência cultural.
      É o mesmo motivo que no filme "Os Goonies" quando eles acham o mapa, na fala original numa tradução literal, o Gordo fala "1682... isso seria um ano ou algo assim?" e o Bocão responde "Não, é o seu recorde no Pole Position".
      Na versão dublada aqui ficou apenas "É seu recorde no videogame". Porque quem fez a tradução considerou que falar "Pole Position" não seria uma referência cultural para os brasileiros (E acho que não era mesmo).
      Quando você faz um trabalho desse tipo, não é uma "tradução". Se chama "Localização". Você precisa considerar as questões culturais do lugar para qual você está fazendo a tradução.
      Eles poderiam ter falado de outro arista norte-americano com estilo Raul Seixas, assim como no filme "Os Goonies" poderiam ter falado que era o recorde no Enduro (Esse um game bem conhecido do público brasileiro), mas normalmente os tradutores preferem deixar uma referência cultural genérica a alterar demais a referência (o que eu considero ser o mais correto mesmo).
