Splat I can confirm that you're not the only one who gets caveman angry when bowl water hits your shirt and honestly thank you for publicly acknowledging something so real.
yeah happens here too, usually happens with spoons for me.
How about when you slam your finger stuck in a car door? I wheeze and squeak in most unmanly way cuz panic to open the door, also that 0.5 second I forget how to open the car door and does the high knees exercise
Yes, very much yes.
It spoke to me on a primordial level.
That washing the dishes argument... man, can't believe how true it is and how you compare those feelings with what is happening in game, well done mate. It made my day.
It's always the small preventable things that piss me off. Any actual important matter I can think calmly about but these small insignificant things just piss you off lol.
This is a fantastic game. this is coming from someone with 124 hours put into the game.
after you play for awhile you start building up your reward bonuses (which at the beginning arent too noticeable) but you soon become a bit more well off the longer you put into the game. so many little details and easter eggs that are fun to find and learn about as well.
10/10 game imo. well worth your time and money
Man, I played this game long time ago and it was already a good game. Kinda easy once you understand the game. Excited to see the content updates. Used to have really constant updates so I have no doubts the dev would deliver.
Same I played this when it first released maybe 2016/17
This game is awesome. Played the damn thing through the end so fast! Looks Like its Worth it to give it another shot
27:27 That's my man Arthur Dent teleported from an alternate universe to help Splat out. This game could use a tea making system for the legend
Yeah I also noticed there was a villager named Tifa Lockheart. Cool little Easter eggs.
Splatter, for the past 188 hours, I have been playing this game none-stop.
I love the progression of reseting my entire world after a colony wipe and starting over after opening my chests to increase my survival ods.
How do you get chests?
@@timjen3 as you play the game you unlock goals for your colony; such as "survive for this many days" or "have/build this many of this item" and you get god points.
The god points are used to open these special chests you get for reaching certain goals, and they are like random benefits such as "vilagers have less thirst" or "bow tower does 2% more damage/has 5% more range"
As you play the game and get better, you unlock better and better rewards and as you play your colony and gameplay changes according to those perks you get through chests.
This game is the only gave ive ever seen have a mechanic like this, and I DESPERATELY hope they add more updates and features or eventually work on a Rise To Ruin 2.
Or... the best thing to ever happen would be steam workshop implementation.
Dish water rage!!! 🤣
you are definitely not alone in this
This looks amazing! Thanks for spotlighting this game, likely woulda never noticed it among the sea of indie games otherwise.
I'm glad to hear about the development of this game resuming, always showed an incredible depth and a level of challenge strongly tied with lore.
Combat extended for Rimworld requires you to make ammo too.
Making firearms a real chore but also a reward.
I like to have to planify all the chain of production, just for one link to fail because Martha decided to go on a breakdown because her room was too hot. ^^
-"I'd like to file in as unavailable to work for today!"
-"Why's that, you look pretty healthy to me?"
-"You know, I've been eating raw mushrooms yesterday, and then my dog came in at night and disturbed my sleep x2"
-"And do you know, that prisoner Jack is going to starve if you dont feed him today?"
-*barricades in room and smashes lamp*
"Great, now my room is ugly!"
RimWorld is a marvel of realistic story-telling
@@gamer_eza47 then you should play the OG, Dwarf Fortress
@@bankbarcomo806 I tried, but couldnt get behind the minimalistic graphics. So I've been waiting for the Steam release for... well, "time is subjective".
@@gamer_eza47 like the ascii, or did you use a graphics pack?
@@gamer_eza47 But then just imagine the masterwork statue commemoring the attack on the colony while he was barricaded in his room.
His dog got abducted by the primitives to be eaten alive and now he feels remorse for not participating in the defense.
Rimworld is a wonderful sandbox, you just have to add a bit of your take on what's happening to write the story. ^^
I feel you, Splat. Spoons attack me with water when I wash dishes. The audacity!
The comment about the dish washing rage made me laugh so hard! Thanks for making my day splat.
One thing I would have shown off is the god powers. You can cause distruction, make crops grow, etc.
Splat out here enjoying 80 degree temps, I'm up here getting snow on monday
Ah yes the old references to Rimworld
Also -4 ate without a table
Where I live - there's still snow and blizzards, so it really bamboozles me when people tell that it's almost summer in their towns.
Where you live sounds amazing. Where I'm at, it snowed yesterday, iced this morning, then got up to 60 this afternoon. Three days ago, it was 75 and I was roasting. I'm tired of this hot weather. I want my snow back.
"they start teleporting in with the power of crunchberries... i dunno, the power of lucky charms" LOL i
These videos are therapeutic for Splatty!
I forgot I had this. I had given up on its development into something worth playing. Thanks for reminding me about it and good to see them seeing it done some justice.
"Medieval Fantasy Undead Colony Survival" that's a collection of words I'd never thought I'd put in the same sentence
just read the "plans secured" dev post for rise to ruins and wow the guys really got my respect for coming back to the game
Super glad you made this video. I've been waiting a long time hoping for an update.
yo Splat thanks for doing what you do
I'm totally a cat person but I love dogs too. I grew up with this one cat who was older than me and who was still alive after I enlisted in the Service. I think the cat lived 24 years, was sad to she her gone when I came back home.
Very nice game! It's indeed amazing that they get content out still ! 😁
"Too hot they need to get into the shade and warm up" ...yes i can confirm it do happen during the summer
East coast boy here we just got a bunch of snow out of nowhere so spring just ain’t real anymore
I'm a simple man. I see a skellington and a town being built, and I must click. Lol
yay, I like this game. I actually am the one that convinced the dev to change the title screen font and it worked out so well :D
glad to see so many updoots on this game
Who knew Splat was a catdog person? I guess that makes sense. Too much sense, actually.
🎵Alone in the world was a little catdog!🎵
Oh nice, guess I'll dig that out of my library.
Kinda thought the dev had given up on it, glad to hear I was wrong.
It had solid gameplay back when I played it, just lacked a bit of polish.
I’ve been playing this game for years it’s cool to see him playing this.
The way they fit seven people in one shack is that they were all circus clowns before becoming colonists. Old skill, new application.
I believe the first video I saw on your channel was an impressions video on this game, it's been a long time since I've played it, I'll probably check it out again! =D
Feels like the OG settlers, defo going to look at this
Villager to zombie: "The power of carrots compels you!"
i thought it was an undead colony survival. like a colony of undeads, trying to survive against humans. i got so excited for a second there :/
Again, get my hopes up! I saw "undead colony" and got excited.
oh man i had this game since pretty much it had different name. great game:) , played around 242 hours according to steam.
me too, it was called retro pixel castles or something like that
@@dbj77 yep:) , know about easter egg in main menu?
Last played this about a year ago. It's kind of nice but there just seems to be one dominating strategy and everything else sort of fails. Still a very nice and chill game. I'd recommend it!
When you perfectly describe the weather of either Washington or Oregon
I would be surprised that people would litter in a world where trash becomes monsters, but I just lived through the last two years and stuff like that doesn't surprise me anymore.
Oh I have this game! I remember enjoying it, but eventually bouncing off of it due to the difficulty (or to put it another way the progression was too slow for how complex/much work it was)
Protip - hold dishes near faucet, so water doesn't gain momentum from falling.
Liking only dogs or cats is like only liking baseball but not football. They're different, but they're both great.
Oh god. That dishwashing story killed me. Thank you, Splat. 🤣
@20:00 It happens to me too! I get wet because of bowl or spoon water launches all the time. Im glad Im not the only one =).
The way he secured funding is told on a long story post on the steam news of the game. It's a good read haha
Heck YEAAAA I love seeing this game getting updates again!
I played this a while go. I loved how you could automate so much. I just couldn't get the hang of the combat. I believe you are supposed to push the evil off of the map and then move on to the next area.
Actually no. You dont need to push it off the map, I am not sure if that is even possible. You just secure a big enough area for you to handle. You can then build the immigration office and (as long as you have enought people) send settlers on adjacent tiles on the world map to build a new collony.
@@Chaist1994 I tried playing it that way but the evil seemed to throw more at you with each attack. I wasn't sure if the evil had a limit therefore I was never sure when a colony was secure.
I think I tried to expel the evil from a map and I want to say there was a mechanism that made it burst through.
@@XShrike0 Yeah, you can use fire to push back certain areas but the more areas that are held back by light from fires it reduces the max area for the corruption to spread, and once the evil conquers all the tiles it can it then starts to ramp up in power, and pushing it even further back can ramp this up faster. Unless they changed this, Its been a while since I played.
@@C0wsmacker It does get harder the more you force it back, BUT-it is entirely possible to actually completely remove the corruption.
@@XShrike0 A little late I guess, but when I was playing the evil got stronger the more you push it back. It also scaled a little with time, but that stagnated at some point: I had my first colonie for a long time never touching it again and the defences held up easily throughout so it was under my impression that the strength of evil stagnates at some point.
Laughed at "summon a god or whatever while someone is crying because they didnt eat at a table"
Thanks for showcasing! ^^
I felt that dishes talk.
10/10 most relateable tangents
Interesting fact, the developer legit could not find funding so he learned about the stock market and legit funded the game himself by growing his money, truly a giga chad amongst us gamers.
Please make a the survivalist series PLEASE ! We need that !
He's* back. One man team.
Another great little thing from the game is that small text near the logo
Also a half-life reference(1:25)
Nice! I've had lots of fun with this game. Haven't played it for a long while though :/
I've played the game a bit before. For better or worse, a lot of micro. To me it is both troublesome but fairly appealing still. It is fairly sensible and reaslitic as far as the micro and logistic goes which I think is nice since most often gloss over such things for better or worse. I take it that this just shows the attentive detail, effort, and passion by the devs for the game. Game is generally fun as far as my experiences goes.
On another note, I beg to differ to splat. I start with houses or a bit of them anyways then secure food and water after shelter as soon as possible. Then prepare some defences whilst taking note of the enemy if not interrupting them, though that was the old version and haven't really explored the game that much.
Anyways, cool game and devs. Worth supporting them I'd say. Can be very much overwhelming and confusing, especially for the first rounds or so but worth it still.
Wow I actually played this game A LOT! Could not stop playing. Played the damn thing to the end in few sittings. its a very good Game Go ahead and buy it, dont Pirate it
The specific part bringing the stuff from point a to b from resource to usable resource to in use. The game i know that does that the most is Knights and Merchants. A really old but super amazing rts colony survival game. Its 1 of the 2 games i played the most jn my entire life (im 29 years old now and the game exists for about 20 years i think so)
Was exactly what I was thinking of, having to haul resources and food to be able to build and wage war.
It's funny to see a mythical land of Azusa, which is also the name of a city I live near that's east of Los Angeles.
I so hate that when that happens with the dishes. It just makes it feel like the worst thing. The worst is when you have either put on your pjs or a nice shirt for work, and have to change.

note to anyone who uses video games as actual survival references, you still should boil rainwater, wait till it cools, then drink it
When I saw the title, I thought you were playing a community of undead. :P
I also get caveman angry from dish water hitting my shirt, the worst is when the angle is just right to hit you in the eye.
So glad they got the funding... Ive had this game for years but i stopped playing a long time ago
Funding wasn't the reason for updates stopping.
Oh my god, the bowl comment deserves its tangent 😂🤣
10:10 you have tifa lockhart in your settlement nice
I love your content
I was looking to break off from all the mainstream games
you are not the only person who hates bowl and spoon spray.
Cool! I'm getting this game!
Splat, you need a dishwasher!
You may want to talk to a psychologist after you buy that dishwasher...
one of the things I've always loved about this game.
when waiting for them to get stuff done. I can use my godly powers, to help out. :D
XXX I SHALL BUILD THIS DUST BIN ONE LOG AT A TIME XXX
meanwhile here with spring underway, i am looking outside at goddamm snowstorm.
but yea i din't know this game got a new update again, glad to find this in my suggestion box regarding that.
i wish steam would actively notify dormant games being updated.
I have a kitty and grew up with cats but i absolutely love cats and dogs.
I remember that I layed this game years ago, one of my first indie games
YAY UPDATES!!!!! needs a modding scene
Super fun difficult game.
Washing bowl ... yup. You are not alone.
Yes, spoons do that. Fkin spoons dude. Good vid.
This is such a good game!!!
Love your content, really helps finding more interresing games for someone with liitle time, appriciate you
By the powa of crunch berries and lucky charms.
😄
10:06 Tifa Lockhart? Really Spatt? Did you do that or just not notice?
Game has a bunch of pop culture and meme references for names.
i have nt played this in years... and it was already a great game then.
I remember you playing this a few years back and I got it and really enjoyed it, was wishing that they’d update.
nah bro, tthat irrational rage hits me sometimes too. like when the usb wont go in and i just want to get a hammer and hammer it in the wrong way for a second
🤣🤣🤣those damn dishes !!!
ThankYou SirSpla77
"Trash Golems will spawn and start to mess with you." Ah, nice to see my ex is getting some work. Good for her.
This game is amazing. The music is among the best game musics I have noticed.
Don't think a comparison to rimworld does it justice, doesn't seem like the best comparison to me.
Also, if you used your God powers, you could have sped up your initial setup a lot...
I just got this game called "geometry arena" a little twin stick roguelite. I stayed up till 4am playing it's so fun. Y'all should check it out
Bottom left corner of screen allows you to resize your brush for gathering.
I like undead stuff, seems interesting.
This is a great game btw
been looking forward to more content in this wonderful game = )
