Hi Ali that is such a shame all your alliums suffering the miner , for us it seems the leeks suffer so as soon as we plant out we put enviromesh over them straight away, Those peas look like our kent blue as start with same colour flowers which turn blue before peas show , hope your out door tomatoes do well , and Trisa is doing grand job with the shed .
Ah thanks for the Kent Blue Pea confirmation. Quite a few in my plot has never seen a pea with that colour flower. I will definitely use fine netting next time x
😢 I have beet leaf miner omg 😱 I never even heard of such a thing but I pulled them all I was afraid they’d spread. Looking great regardless of the pest issues. We are in the middle of the cotton wood tree snow storms it’s a real pain. Alien 👽 in the shed 😂😂. Both doing fantastic work looking forward to all the updates, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
Not sure if we have cotton wood here, but I’ve seen the amount you are dealing with. More leeks went in a different area yesterday, and I will be throwing over some enviromesh today. Keep smiling and swearing 🤣 x love Allie & Tricia x
Great to see good progress.. your tomatoes will catch up when you plant them out. Shame about the allium.. I've not even heard of it.. bad luck.. maybe some extra spring onions this year??
I remembered I put my sprouting left over garlic bulbs in one of my beds at home so fingers crossed some garlic there. Replanted some more leeks and onions on the other Plot yesterday and I will cover them today. X
Will be 3 days in a row today Tricia has been handy down the potting shed. Bbq down there later today with a couple of other plot holders. Your welcome to fly over 🙃x
Hi Ali everything is looking great apart from the pesky leaf miner, why is it that such a small creature can ruin your hard work, it really annoys me that. Next time you grow Onions, Garlic and Leeks chuck some cover over it that way no pesky leaf miner will be around to ruin your hard work, Trish is doing a great job of insulating the shed that will be finished in no time. Remember we were talking about the lettuce you are growing which still looks good, and you offered me some seeds if i can't find them myself, well i can get everything except the Northern Queen which apparently is easy to get hold of in the US. If you need to get in touch my email is on my page otherwise just send me a message on here. Take Care and Stay Safe both of you. Barry (the Wirral)
I am getting the same problem on my garlic and onions that I did over winter absolutely gutted. I am going to pull them tomorrow and see what I have got nice update 👨🌾
I always look forward to your weekly updates - Sorry about the attack on your onions etc, but these things happen! I didn't want to comment on the sad demise of the ducks last week (I love ducks!) Otherwise all looking good . . . 👍 Edited to add: You've probably already seen this clip ? ruclips.net/video/N9TvX8L3R3E/видео.html

Gutted when they are so close to being ready 😟 hope you manage to get some to eat. Now my next onions are covered as of today and it’s not coming off.
💪💪💪💪 little Leo 🌻🌻
Hopefully as it is half term next week little Leo may make another appearance ☺️ no show on the sunflowers - second sowing 😕

Never heard of an onion leaf miner...too many pests
I’d only known about the leaf minor, but now I definitely know about this little pest.
