In return Mav paints a pretty picture of traveling thru the Baja peninsula.

Some of what you say is true if your going out on guided tour. Which I guess for most people going out on vacation is true. However, If your sociable the people are really nice and I have been invited to people house for a party or just to hang out the next day. In my younger days I would even just go out there with no place plan to stay or plan. just let the day take me and always worked out great. Unfortunately Mexico gets a bad wrap due to the cartels. The people are awesome.

People visit Chicago everyday, if they aren't involved in local gang drama, they are perfectly safe. Would people be spending $300 a night downtown to get mugged? No. Wake up. Hey Mav I’m from AZ and mountain bike race. Thought I might share that one time in a race I saw someone crash and completely land in a huge pile of Cholla cacti. He was screaming in pain as the parents were pulling him out but I guess he was okay. They can hurt real bad!

The simplicity of the food and getting to help make it is going to make your truck camping & cooking 1000x better. And then homemade tortillas are in a class of their own.
To top it off, you'll never forget that cactus experience for the rest of your life.

@@cpt_kirk Mexican or American has to do with nationalaty not with race, ethnicity, or bloodlines, let's say for example if Mexico and America went to war, you would have to choose America then because you were born here in USA not Mexico, but if you chose Mexico then you're a traitor and a coward, you have to give allegiance to your country of birth, that's what make a country great and powerful, what makes a country weak is ppl like you who are born here in USA but raise the flag of another country who didn't give you anything, yet you plunder and steal another country's freedoms and goods. You either give your loyalty to your country of birth or you stand for nothing, I'm going to give you another example, if your parents adopted you when you were born, and your adoptive parents raised you,fed you, cared for you, gave you an education, who would you be loyal too, who would you call parents? If your real parents last name was Rodriguez and your adoptive parents last name was Garcia, who's last name would you choose? Of course you would choose your adoptive parents last name regardless of "bloodline".
