I'm a lapsed Catholic in Ireland. When all the horrid details of abuse were made public I was angry, still am. But when I watch these videos and I've watched many I feel the love these women have for the Lord and their vocations. I wish I had that peace I once felt and wish these ladies a life of happiness in their vocation.
I moved to Ireland from UK in 2020 and was a Catholic at that time but a few months later I fet called to be back in The Salvation Army whose mission is to serve others just like these sisters. I live in rural Galway and my nearest corps, church, is in Dublin but this year I aim to be there once a month because that is where God is asking me to be.
I always wondered if a woman that has been married had children can become a nun? I’m 63 and I would love to devote my to the order! I love my Lord with all of my heart and I’ll do what I can to please Him! 🙏🏼
Yes of course! The carmelite nuns accept widows e.g. Saint Rita of Cascia or Saint Brigit of Sweden were married and had children for example and then entered religious life when their husbands passed away. God bless you!
The purity within these women is truly beautiful - they are an inspiration to all women who suffer the most disgusting sin of whoredom. These are brides of God, as our women should be brides of men - they are blessed beyond all.
Anybody considering the religious life needs to see this. I am a Mom and I even feel a tug looking at this. I am in the wold but I see this and know yet again we have to strive to not be of the world.
Im actually a seminarian and its just such a nice thing to serve God in a different way. So nice to experience such a radiacal way of happiness..Pray for us😊

What wonderful souls these sisters are.. living life in simplicity, service and authenticity, so different to the superficiality and confusion of the world. I heard all the sisters say.. 'a sense of purpose and deep joy' again and again and this is what most in the secular world find very difficult to comprehend, serenity without possibly possessing nothing. I feel we have gone wrong somewhere in not teaching where real joys is found. When many see such joy they want to have it and yet not able to let go many of the things. I came across quite few whispers 'what it that u Christians got that makes u peopl glow (meaning joyful)' . I can see that joy in these nuns. Pray for our world so that we put back God at the center of all that we do.
My prayer as well are for your dear servants please protect and keep them safe in their day to day service to the community bringing your Love to them. That they keep their focus on you, in prayer and devotion to your Word of truth with no distractions and learn discernment of what comes from you and what is not from you. 🙏🏻✝️♥️💯

Thao it is good and positive that you can be a nun and a doctor (study) and do what's important Not just pray However some nuns choose or are chosen to only look after children elderly or prisoners in prison (who had lost their religion and need forgivenes and hope to live and forgive themselves to continue) ...
I was raised Baptist and am still technically Protestant (though non-Denominational). But I stumbled upon Richard Rohr and his books and became fascinated with the Franciscans... This is intriguing.
"I get to serve the poor everyday". I GET to. What a beautiful sentiment. If we all looked to our daily tasks with that perspective, how much glory we would bring to God & how much joy we would bring to man. I GET to, not I have to or I am forced to. Christians all over the world, now more than even 6 yrs ago when this was made, are suffering & losing their lives, just because they are christian. Look at African Christians. Pray for all Christians. Pray for more young women & men to be called to the holy life. Or to answer the call when it is offered.
It's hard not to be stunned by these sisters. Their lives are devoted to Jesus' perfect love, we see it, and it's just wow. Sister Marie Therese is amazing, saying how she GETs to help the poor, is just exactly what Christ did every day of his ministry, showed compassion for the broken hearted- how beautiful is that!

The sister who wants to be a missionary doctor should be granted her wish. Some nearby University medical school or rich patron should give her a full scholarship to complete her medical studies and achieve her dream. From there as a missionary doctor she can go to South America, Europe or Asia. In Asia there are vibrant Franciscan communities in Singapore and Hong Kong and she can extend the CFR community in Asia. There are many ladies who might want to join this community.
It is not about 'granting wishes'. That is not in order with the vocational life. It is about answering GOD's call for your life. If God so wills it, she will be able to finish med. school. The order is not going to let her accept rich patron's $$$$ - they take a vow of poverty. This would be so prideful that I am sure it would be looked down on. tHey are to live a life of humility, it is not a stepping stone to grant their life's wishes/dreams. God's will is all that matters in this woman's life, not making a name for herself, not her education, not opening up new orders that she can take credit for....that would be so off track of what religious community life is all about.
Real people. Real contemplatives. Real givers. Real Christ followers. Real examples of the Sermon on the Mount. You see real joy in them flowing directly from God. Inspiring. Compare and contrast them with the Cardinals, Bishops, and Priests who are and have been destroying the Church. There is hope. IF the inherent financial and moral corruption in the Church hierarchy would just follows these beautiful nuns and give all its billions to these kinds of Orders, and seek forgiveness for the massive corruption the hierarchy has inflicted on the Church, there would be hope. God Bless these nuns.......
not all bishops/priests/cardinals, etc... are 'bad'. that is some very strong stereotyping there. AND not all nuns are 'good'. I am related to one who entered vocational life for a non-holy reason (it became apparent later on) and she was not always a 'good person'. I personally have come across much better priests, I guess, because all 5 in my life (I'm 43) have been decent human beings that do an awful lot of good for our parish - very loving, kind, energetic, and just decent.
There is no freedom. Everyone is enslaved by money - either by lack of it or by its affluence. Ethics is governed by anarchical economy, and not vice versa. Psychologically people have a conscience of being either slaves or masters, but all together worship money. Without mentioning American foreign policy, which consists in trying to enslave the whole world in the same way, America is the most anti-Christian country in its principles and reality: the weak are trampled down by the strong - with strength and weakness being determined solely by the amount of money one has - no one has a dignity there, every person is a means towards the goal of someone’s enrichment. In a nutshell: it’s a backward society, because, just like its technology - e.g. American cell phones, washing machines, cars look and function today like they cone from the 1930s - it lives by the similarly primitive, jungle categories of social Darwinism - the extreme form of capitalism that has been long ago outlived and rejected by civilized, developed countries.

Compare and contrast them with the Cardinals, Bishops, and Priests who are and have been destroying the Church. There is hope. IF the inherent financial and moral corruption in the Church hierarchy would just follows these beautiful nuns and give all its billions to these kinds of Orders, and seek forgiveness for the massive corruption the hierarchy has inflicted on the Church, there would be hope. not all bishops/priests/cardinals, etc... are 'bad'. that is some very strong stereotyping there. AND not all nuns are 'good'. I am related to one who entered vocational life for a non-holy reason (it became apparent later on) and she was not always a 'good person'. I personally have come across much better priests, I guess, because all 5 in my life (I'm 43) have been decent human beings that do an awful lot of good for our parish - very loving, kind, energetic, and just decent.
The U.S. being a backward society because of so much social injustice, is in special need of such sisters. God bless them!

There is no freedom. Everyone is enslaved by money - either by lack of it or by its affluence. Ethics is governed by anarchical economy, and not vice versa. Psychologically people have a conscience of being either slaves or masters, but all together worship money. Without mentioning American foreign policy, which consists in trying to enslave the whole world in the same way, America is the most anti-Christian country in its principles and reality: the weak are trampled down by the strong - with strength and weakness being determined solely by the amount of money one has - no one has a dignity there, every person is a means towards the goal of someone’s enrichment. In a nutshell: it’s a backward society, because, just like its technology - e.g. American cell phones, washing machines, cars look and function today like they cone from the 1930s - it lives by the similarly primitive, jungle categories of social Darwinism - the extreme form of capitalism that has been long ago outlived and rejected by civilized, developed countries.
