Thank you again mate. Living in the UK struggle to get 1/6th vehicles unless you pay the earth. I try to show with a little imagination you can turn old action man busted vehicles into something half descent. Yes I know they are closer to 1/7th scale but I think they do the job.

This is an excellent video. Just a note, the Action Man Land Rover was actually based on the Land Rover Lightweight, which was an air portable version designed to fit inside the British cargo plane at the time. The AM toy was actually very close in dimensions to the real thing, and was never intended to look like the standard Series II Land Rover.
I love what you did here.

@@andrewwhite6509 Absolutely, the LWB 109 or 110 as it was called was the Pink Panther, fantastic vehicle.
If you Google the Lightweight LR, you will see what Palitoy was trying to do, I prefer the 110 to the Lightweight. I wish Palitoy would have made that but in proper scale, it would have been 30" long!!!

MEGA build and skills ANDY as always !! MY photo collection of SAS pink panthers (the 47 RLC AD unit RAF LYNEHAM i mentioned earlier ) shows the PINK hue paint job to be FADED ... That DHOFAR SUN and heat is a nightmare !! On paint work the Uniforms good original mix one in shorts etc ANOTHER alternative !? Ok couple of MOOT pts : the rear TRPIE GPMG is an M240 US GPMG !!! NO PICAUTINNY rails on the OMAN era L RVR OPS! But the wooden butts spot on! Noted wooden furniture SLRs too!! Useful alternative a G3 H&K / AR 15 / 9mm STERLING smg and an L42 sniper rifle ( you rarely ever see ) I'm told by other VETS EX SF/SOF winged DAGGER SAS BERET NOT openly displayed on MAJOR OPS !! A jeep cap OD GRN and or Bush hat useful headress ; liked the BLACK Jersey worn by TRPIE DVR fig (there is a photo of SAS OMAN VETERAN late JOHNNY COOPER wearing one on visiting OMANI forces HOWEVER ref to the SAS BERET etc PHOTOS show SAS Lad's wearing berets in TRNG in M.EAST mainly in UNIFORM dress etc as opposed to EX and OPS etc !!?? One is a B /W photo a LOFTY LARGE book a known TRNG EX 1970s IRAN desert ! The troops are wearing what looks like jungle greens!?? THE OTHER is of particular personal interest (as a BELFAST born ULSTERMAN having lived thru the N.IRELAND "TROUBLES" 60s 70s and 3 ULSTER tours 79 81 and 89 into 1990 ! IN Tony Geraghtys original HB book and poss? In the follow up SAS pictorial photo book (trust me a veritable "BIBLE " LOL to many MODELLING fans and SOLDIERS at a time when little SF subject matter available !!) HE mentioned a HIGH profile SAS MOBILITY TRP PTL around NEWTOWNARDS CO.DOWN clearly GREEN SAS LANDIES GPMG mounted etc Only a couple of B/W photos of the Patrol OPENELY wearing SAS BERET OD combats etc an amusing photo set a TRPIE reading the NEWTOWNARDS chronicle paper and a TRPIE and TRP offr about to prep some sandwiches with ORMEAU bakery bread !!(local to ULSTERMEN and Folk LOL ) poss.? Another photo has been seen a rear shot of SAS L RVR long shot!? CLEARLY this was early or mid 60s as NOT possible for open patrolling LATE 60s !! IF ANYONE can shed light on this or ANY other SF /SOF related subject it would be VERY WELCOME !! Lastly but no means late ... A TAMIYA model mag article few years ago (a reply from an SAS DHOFAR VET ) ref the actual body construction and EQPT stowage FITTED to PINK panthers ..in that the known version I E TAMIYA model kit etc WAS NOT a NORMAL OPS Mobility L RVR !!???? In fact I think ?!? It was a MARSHALLS of CAMBRIDGE standard Vech. That happened to be available for the TAMIYA guys to photo shoot for ref purposes prior to KIT production!!?? I've NOT seen any info /photos to update the information ....but it caused SOME confusion and SERIOUS conversation replies in The mag !! I gather a New book is due OUT (healthy SAS input of VETERANs ) soon if not already published!!?? THANKS guys hope this is useful to others AND NOT in anyway trying to be DETRIMENTAL to ANYONE else !! MODELLING is a great hobby allowing WE MODELLERS and WOGELLERS (WARGAMER MODELLERS LOL ) a good SKILLS base and Fantastic HOBBY for which we should be grateful indeed !! HAVE you any PLANS to do any DIORAMAS at all ?? Maybe food for thought ANDY !?

That it is USEFUL NOT USELESS gen info to ALL !! NOT just we skilled MODELLERS or WOGELLERS ! Lol at 60 yrs my ETHOS in life is to pass on the hard earned HM FORCES experiences to future and present generations !! AS long as I'm NOT Ramming it down peoples throats !!! GOD FORBID m8. Thanks for kind comments on being clued up cheers I Served 3 different REGTs 13 yrs 2 REG 1 TA. I ALWAYS remaind keen and despite low rank (SGT TA wi' out the CMD LOL ) troopied ON later ARMY cadet INSTRUCTOR. SERGEANT major INSTRUCTOR (11 PL D COY ) and more recently AIR SOFT TAC advisor etc LH re enactment tm LDR 5 yrs SO WHAT ??? !! IF that is helpful to others I'm a happy lad !! I apologise for NOT getting to CHECK OUT yer MEGA website had I done so ? NO STUPID question on " HAVE you considered DIOs and drool factor they are lol in my formative years ( RAF Regt depot 78 etc I was character influenced by many SNCOs : F SGTs and SGTs etc majority were ex SF and MERC OPS types 2 SQN FLD PARA sqn etc and I've ALWAYS been grateful for it !! RAF Regt was coming to end of OMAN SALALAH MASIRA is. Desert adventures back in ULSTER our ATC trips to RAF ALDERGROVE etc had many weapons demos etc from ROCKAPES : RAF Regt gnrs 'FRESH " from OMAN CYPRUS etc etc SO my fate was deemed to be so ! I think you can see where this is going LOL !! THUS tales told of SAS and other adventures I read RAN FIENNES " Where SOLDIERS Fear To Tread " mega read and many others and we get hooked NEVER unfortunately served in OMAN but have an unhealthy interest since then ! ALWAYS a keen modeller an article in a SOLDIER mag on a pro MODELLER who did commission work (REGTS

@@CrashHeadroom It is why this vehicle was called the 'Pink Panther'. It was introduced in Oman during the British campaign there in about 68/69.
The 109 Land Rover was modified by a company called Marshall's of Cambridge, and every surface of the LR including tire sidewalls was painted that pink colour. In the day, cloudy, sunny, at dusk and dawn, and at night, this particular pink blended in the desert better than any other colour.
