Nice NDR! If you're looking for more Game Gear games to play, there's something your should be aware of. A lot of the Game Gear's library consisted of Master System ports. They usually had slightly better graphics and reworked level design compared to their Master Systems versions but the trade-off was some serious screen crunch. Generally speaking, go with the Master System version of a game for the larger screen space. That said, the Game Gear has a good lineup of often overlooked games. As far as exclusive games worth playing: There's GG Shinobi if you want a side-scrolling ninja action game that's hard(er) compared to this version of Ninja Gaiden. Sonic Drift 2 was a solid kart racer for the system. If you like turn-base RPG's, there's Defenders of Oasis. There's also Sonic Triple Trouble, which is probably the best Sonic game on the Game Gear and probably comes closest to the Genesis games in terms of level design and music. There were also some decent X-Men and Batman games on the handheld. Finally, Streets of Rage 2 and Ristar also had some good ports. All those games are easy recommendations if you want to check out some more Game Gear games.
Sweet dude! I LOVE Game Gear so much! I had this game ever since I got my GG in 91 or 92. And today, I have the coolest GG collection with 250+ games including 30 doubles for 2 player. 2 player GG is SO much fun!
There's just something about watching old games like this from my childhood. Started playing my raspberry pi again last night but the amount of games had me doom scrolling instead of playing 😁
slick maneuvering! i had a game gear back in the day (still have it actually, but it doesn't work--might mod it with a new screen at some point). i beat sonic and sonic 2 on it, as well as a great little gem called ax battler, which was similar to zelda 2 on the nes.
Have you seen the trailer for the new one? Looks good. I still have my OG NES cart that my parents got me for Christmas in '89 or '90. I've never beaten it, but, damn, it's cool.
If u wanna stream game gear games with a cart, im sure there are more ways but if u have an analogue pocket, game gear adapter and the dock, u can certainly stream it. Or just do it like ur doing it lol, either way works, lol. Thanks for the vid.
You should have a go at playing through the Master System version of Ninja Gaiden, don't think it was released in the US (we got it here in the UK) but it is different to the Game Gear version and the Nintendo versions and is a very good game.
What it do wes solid play through, if you want to play with real cartidges their is a way you need to buy analogue mega sg console and 1 of the cartridge converters and you can enjoy the whole library of game gear games on a hd tv. Cheers
Hey Wes I’m looking into purchasing an emulator that’s that includes all handhelds and sega and Super Nintendo that I can plug into the back of my tv what would u recommend and for how much?
Nice NDR!

I don't know a ton about emulators but if you have a Wii laying around it can do all of that. It's a pretty dang easy mod to do.
