I like the spreadsheets. Impressive that you not only know but track all your numbers. I’m a data person, too. Although, I’m a company driver. One other factor to consider is that if you were a company driver, the company would be paying Medicare Match, Social Security Match, Federal and State Unemployment Insurance, and Workers Compensation Insurance. Good work.
$1.81 is way too low…..u gotta tell the dispatchers to start getting u something better…..i have been driving for 13 years and i also dispatch……lately i been getting nothing but $4-$5-$6 and $7 per mile loads anywhere from 700 to 1500 miles ….we should do a interview and i will show u proof so that way u can tell ur dispatcher to start negotiating better
I could be wrong but I dont think at Knight the dispatcher is the one negotiating rates with customers. I’m not in trucking, but I do agree with you these rates he posts are pretty low. He’ll do better when he moves to another affiliation or goes completely independent.
@dskains the volume ain't out there right now. You could get 2 to 3 tops per mile as fully independent maybeeeeeeeee 4 a mile from Midwest but usually goes into no loads area so u have to drive so many miles to get another load
Love you content & openness. But you are LOOSING YOUR BUTT. Your truck now is worth $12,450 less than you paid for it in 8 WEEKS. You are like the old sharecropper working for the land owner(trucking company). Every week your net worth is NEGATIVE from all the hidden cost & things you should be covering. Retirement 20% Health Insurance Personal Policy $500/week($25,000/year) 80/20 Coverage/$6000 deductible Your working for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING PER WEEK.
As long as you keep saying “Yes” to the short (regional) runs, all you can hope for is $850/week. If you agree to a couple short loads, you should tell your dispatcher you want to be rewarded by getting a long run thereafter. You’re running day cab miles as a Lease Operator!
Is this a lease purchase or just straight lease also do 14:21 you have to do your own taxes & get your own medical insurance or does knight offer that stuff for you
Its a lease purcase. You do your own taxes. Knight offers reasonable medical and dental services. My medical is $190 per month as a non smoking young single male with no negative medical history.... Thats the lowest you will see of course though.
@TruckingtheSevenSeas. I see you have a $0.03 deduction for fuel and mile tax. Is that amount for your business tax. Or are you deducting it off your net after you get your settlements?
Can you make a video about the lease purchase program, requirements, time, documents, down payments, money to have before start, time to drive for the company before get leade purchase, thank you
Hello great videos Can I ask, when you dropping a trailer do you put your paperwork into goods in office,. Also when collecting the trailer, are told the trailer number before you arrive at pick up point, also how do you get the paperwork for the load from the goods out office or is it placed in the trailer. More questions, driving hours How many hours per day are you allowed to drive, and gen do you take a break, and what is your daily rest period (in UK we can drive for 10 hours per day on 3 days, after 4.5 hours of driving we need to take a 45 minutes break, daily rest period is 11 hours but can be reduced 2 x week to 9 hours, weekly rest is 45 hours but must be taken in 1 period, we can drive a maximin of 6 days per week
Usually there is a guard who takes your paperwork. but it varies from shipper to shipper. Trailer number is either told to you by the guard or your company. You also usually get paperwork from the guard. Hours of service are a little bit hard to explain I would youtube search some videos on it as a video is easier to explain it.
No fines. You get CSA violations for things like this. It goes on your record and affect your insurance and future job opportunities. This totaled 5 CSA points. Not a huge amount but not nothing either. I believe i have 8 total now with 3 that are going to be erased in the next few months leaving me with 5 points. They are erased from your record after 2 years. My understanding is 50 points is high (bad).
you ticked the guy off ........violation!!!
It was all very petty...
Same thing happened to me in wendover utah. 8 points leaking air from air valve abs light. Why did you get pulled in ?
I existed...
SMH! Better off being a company driver.
Run run run your not making the right money you get pay the same as company drive run run
Graphs would interesting.
I know never be a lease driver
Your fuel costs are extremely high, they are charging you close to retail pump prices. Get your own fuel card, if they even allow you to buy your own.
.50 a mile!? whyyyyyyyyyyy do you do that twuk driber.....just say no! Know your worth
WTF is twuk driber?
You wear flip flops to the customer don’t you.?
apparently you watch BH truckers so you should knw what that means!@@richardw9057

Great videos and learning alot about the O/O side of things. I'm a Knight company driver and thinking about the Lease
You should probably get a pull bar for your 5th wheel release, your shoulder will thank you,
Hmmm. Perhaps... It is a brand new one though... pretty smooth
If you don't mind me asking... How long have you been with Knight?
About 2 years. 1 year at Knight. 6 months at another company. Then came back for the last year or so.
5:10
All of those are petty. Sorry they got you like that.
That’s a big 10-4 buddy, keep the hammer down.

@@truckingthesevenseasI believe 2 years is for the company CSA, driver records stay for 3 years.
