Y'all act like KCP isnt a big part of the defensive scheme of the Nuggets.
He's a good one on one defender but gets bullied by bigger dude like Ant, now thats a specific thing because the man is one of the top 3 screen navigator in the league and a reason why Denver is a competent defensive team while not exposing Jokic too much, with his ability to disturb PnR and handoffs.
The reality of last season for Nuggets IMHO, was that they were running to the ground big time by Malone and their regular season management was a joke. Either you make sure to have the best road for the playoffs (number 1 seed) either you go full "lets rest people, involve a potential 1/2 7-8 minutes rotational player for playoffs time, make sure we arrive fresh and healthy nobody can beat us".
They just ended up with number 2 seed (with this horrible SAS game) while running on fumes.
Now even with Murray coming back healthy, their defining factor will be a leap of CB and P Wat.
Personnally, I would have run it back with the same crew, you still have CB/Pwat/Strawher with learning curve/solidifying the bench behind the 2 next solid year of KCP and your draft picks. I know 2nd apron can be a killer, but you have to maximize Joker prime where each year is a potential championship and let Booth prove the genius he thinks to be for drafting.

Denver took the same approach GSW did after winning in ‘22. Instead of re-signing pivotal role players, ie Otto potter jr, GP2, Bjelica; they decided to let their young upcoming guys fill those roles. And obviously it didn’t work. DEN seems to be making the same mistake. First they let Bruce & Jeff Green walk, now they let KCP and Reggie walk. Role players are so important to winning a championship and not all young guys are immediately ready to fill those roles.

The net rating of each of the Bucks most used lineups last season which was with a worse roster than they have now, and with an out of shape Dame/injuried Khris:
Starting lineup: 15.5 (highest amoungst all starting lineups in the entire league
    2nd most used: 13.3
    3rd most used: 27.4
    4th most used: 17.5
The best and most used lineups for the Bucks last year didn't just beat teams, they DESTROYED teams. The problems were any other lineups outside if these were mostly disastrous. The roster had a lot of weak links and bad fits last year due to the last minute acquiring of Dame the previous season. Not anymore, but keep sleeping on them and their depth. Go ahead and just corinate the Knicks and 76ers. It'll make this season that much more satisfying.

It's not about the Kroenkes being cheap in any way, shape or form. It's the severe restrictions on actions the front office can take if the team went into the second apron. The front office chose future flexibility over KCP. The real problem the Nuggets face is because they mismanaged their cap situation over a handful of years. For example, MPJ is a role player with a max contract. But to be fair, Connelly couldn't have foreseen the draconian new collective bargaining agreement meant to punish teams like the Nuggets.

    Period.
And Inthink they will find a way to replace the 9 points/game. And if Braun can hit 3s at 35 percent, he will space the floor the same.

I do think the Knicks can repeat as a #2 seed, yhey can definitely build on ehat they did last year for sure. Tibs is good and the pieces ro me were burned with the injuries. 76's and Denver as well as the Bucks give more questions than answers. Westbrook to Denver doesnt change anything! As well as PG to the sixers! Dame and Giannis still gave a lot of questions, especially on the defensive end. Giannis can carry you most of the way but Dame has to be the closer and im not sure that can sustain all season. Dont think its Bucks hate it just sometimes is the reality. Milwaukee isn't a strong market either.

Wish yall included trade predictions in this…I don’t believe in the current Cavs either but I think all 3/4 of their main guys are positive assets n that they will make a trade eventually. That said I’d sell bc i don’t buy Evan Mobley and dmitch alone is not enough
However I’d also assume the pels make a trade for a center eventually. Cj worst case is a big expiring n I think bi gets traded not extended. Zion is also a health concern but Murray jones n Murphy alone is a high floor. Anything Zion gives you is extra. N end of the day they were a first round exit. I think that’s a pretty low price. I’d buy the pels
But the exercise is too easy if you don’t include possible trades. You don’t win or lose in the stock market based on a snapshot of the company at purchase. It’s a projection. Can’t leave out trades

  • @taylor7264
    @taylor7264 24 дня назад

Can’t leave out trade predictions in this exercise. Profits in the stock market aren’t solely based on a snapshot of the company at purchase. It’s abt projection n trades are a big part of that.
I’d bet Cavs and pels both make a move this yr.
Still would sell Cavs bc I don’t believe in Mobley. He’s their most underwater asset. For that reason I don’t see them getting a player better than him back if they traded him. N he’s supposedly the complementary top end talent to help dmitch get over the top. Dmitch alone is not enough to the Cavs to an ecf.
I’d buy the pels bc Murray jones n Murphy are enough of a stabilizer alone. They have assets (bi cj n picks) to help them improve upon that core. N what they need is not THAT hard to find. then you have Zion as the ultimate ceiling raiser. Whatever you get from him is kinda extra in my mind n he might not be who we expected him to be, but he’s not gonna be a zero. N their price is lower than the Cavs as a first rd exit last year
