Glad to have Natasha as part of the Scottish family xx I don't get the " recovering " alcoholic saying. If you haven't had an alcoholic drink for 17 years then surely you've " recovered " already ?
My university experience is nearly 40 years ago (St Andrews) and I agree with most of what he says I agree with. But it also applies very much to central Scotland rather than the whole country. The Isles, the Highlands and the southern part of the country in the Borders aren't all like that, there are parts which are right but I wouldn't apply it all to the whole of Scotland. There are parts of the country where people are a lot quieter.
I have a serious question. Are you renaming the RUclips channel. "The McNatasha and Debbie Show" 😆 Debbie's reactions to all the traits was epic! Yeah, that's Natasha. Yeah, that one's Natasha too! Fantastic.

Hi, Happy Easter! I'm from Scotland, I live in Fife, just north of Edinburgh, you have to cross one of the Forth Bridges to reach us. If I'm asked, I'll say I'm Scottish but that doesn't mean I'm in favour of independence but I respect everyone's opinion on the subject. I'm very superstitious, my whole family are, right down to not cutting our nails on a Sunday because its bad luck lol I've never been a drinker, I just never acquired a taste for it. The other things he was right about is the spitting on the Heart of Midlothian which must confuse people who don't know the history of it and lots of people really do refer to us as Scotch, it's really annoying lol
Takes a lang spin ti sup wi the deil and a Fifer. If Scotland goes to join Europe, then that cant be named as independence, when i was educated, but racist against the auld enemy. Remember Fife is the only Kingdom thats within the United Kingdom.
i respect you Natasha on your recovery, you were also talking about the similarities with yourself and the video, well you are 25% scottish it will be in your genes, say hello to your Bonnie ( beautiful ) wife Debbie for me, love you both, you both make me laugh, from Pete 100% Scots lol from Scotland x
Scottish here and you are not offensive in the least for thinking "what?? - this is MEEEE" (I was honestly doing the same ha ha ha) Also congratulations on the sobriety Natasha that is AMAZING you should be very proud
10:46 The Victorian-era Police Station which was the equivalent of the Tolbooth was built on the steep slope down to the Cowgate - the cells on the lowest level were notoriously unpleasant - dark, cold and dank. It was said that drunks and vagrants would deliberately walk far enough west or north to avoid being in the High Street Police District after nightfall.
I keep thinking Natasha reminded me of someone. Its my Auntie Ann from Glasgow. All my family on Dads side come from the Highlands going back hundreds of years. We are all settled in England or Australia these days. Scotland is so beautiful but a little on the chilly side weather-wise. Great reaction as usual.
I was told how welcoming and lovely everyone in Scotland was recently, a tourist was trying to get somewhere which was a little difficult to explain, I said “I have ten minutes to spare, I’ll just take you” , I didn’t really think about it but it seems it’s not like that everywhere in the world.
Reminds me of when to English guys pulled up in their car one night and asked me and my mate directions to a pub in centre of the town and we said "we're actually going there ,gives us a lift/ride and we'll take you there" ....they were very apprehensive but agreed, they were nervous as hell, they thought they were gonna get robbed lol
Hi Lassies , wee Scots term for you ladies. Loved this & seeing Natasha freaking out as her 28% traits were already there 🤗🤗🏴🏴🏴 . Just remember Debbie, if Natasha is doing your head in ........ it's because she is Passionate. Take care 🏴🏴💪💪🤗🤗👍
Happy Easter ladies. Enjoyed the video. I trained to be a nurse in Edinburgh for three years and everyone was very nice to me. I’m not from Scotland but enjoyed it so much that I stayed and worked for a few years after I qualified. I loved the Castle and the Royal Mile.

Very good show, loved it, good video too. It only occurred to me while watching, in the 90's Billy Connelly did a 6 episode programme called Billy Connellys World Tour of Scotland, I Googled it and it is available on DVD but in the UK it is region 2, I don't know if you are able to play region 2 DVD's, I know that the US is Region 1, its available on Amazon but I don't know if it would be available in the US, I watched it when it was shown and it was very informative, well worth a look.
Fantastic video ladies, I’m very proudly Scottish and loved your reactions Natasha, the DNA has obviously trickled down. I hope you both make it over someday 🤗
Scotland born and bred myself. I was in the twin cities in 2015 and beside the hotel i was staying in was a church which just before i was to fly home, held a street fair with food, stalls ect. It was a ticket affair which i bought and as i sat down on a bench, i noticed a young lassie across the road selling raffle tickets which no-one was buying from so, i went across and asked her why - she started off by saying `As a black American i....` I stepped in at that point and stopped her and asked her why she said that ? I told her i`m a Scotsman and very patriotic about my Country and i`m sure she is about hers but, she`d no right to apologise for that and that she has every right to be there as much as i have or, the folks across the street have......Well, she took a couple of steps back, picked her chin up off the floor and gave such a huge hug that nearly separated me from my breath. She told me she was selling raffle tickets for a community centre so, as she wasn`t selling any, i bought an entire book from her. She thanked me for saying what i just said and that no-one ever said that to her before. I told her never to feel a need to explain the colour of your skin, it was the last thing on my mind when i 1st spoke to her, its not the colour, its what`s in your heart that matters.
Happy Easter my Wife says the more passionate I get about things more I sound like a barking dog and more she doesn’t understand me she is English and we only been together 28 years
Hi ladies. Happy Easter!! Always enjoy watching your videos. I’m from Glasgow 🙂 I’m just back from a weekend break in St Andrews, which I also can’t recommend enough. Hope you make it to Scotland 🏴 soon x
That RUclipsrs right. There's so many Scottish inventions you could easily do a whole video on just that. I've blown our trumpet a few times about it cause it still amazes me for the size of us a relatively small country how big a contribution we made to the world. But it's ok to blow your trumpet now and again right? Here's an Scottish poem about some of our inventions. Wha's Like Us ? The average Englishman in the home he calls his castle, slips into his national costume ---- a shabby raincoat...patented by.... ...Chemist Charles Macintosh from Glasgow, Scotland. En route to his office he strides along the English lane, surfaced by.... ...John Macadam from Ayr, Scotland. He drives an English car fitted with tyres invented by.... ...John Boyd Dunlop, Veterinary Surgeon of Dreghorn, Scotland. At the office he receives the mail bearing adhesive stamps invented by.... ...John Chalmers, Bookseller and Printer of Dundee, Scotland. During the day he uses the telephone invented by.... ...Alexander Graham Bell, born in Edinburgh, Scotland. At home in the evening his daughter pedals her bicycle invented by.... ...Kirkpatrick Macmillan, Blacksmith of Thornhill, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. He watches the news on T.V. an invention of.... ...John Logie Baird of Helensburgh, Scotland. And hears an item about the U.S. Navy founded by.... ...John Paul Jones of Kirkbean, Scotland. Nowhere can an Englishman turn to escape the ingenuity of the Scots. He has now been reminded too much of Scotland and in desperation he picks up the Bible, only to find that the first man mentioned in the good book is a Scot.. ...King James VI...who authorised its translation. He could take to drink but the Scots make the best in the world. He could take a rifle and end it all but that breech-loading rifle was invented by.. ...Captain Patrick Ferguson of Pitfours, Scotland. If he escaped death, he would find himself on an operating table injected with Penicillin, discovered by.... ...Sir Alexander Fleming of Darvel, Scotland. And given Chloroform, an anaesthetic discovered by.... ..Sir James Young Simpson, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist of Bathgate, Scotland. Out of the anaesthetic he would find no comfort in learning he was as safe as the Bank of England founded by.... ...William Paterson of Dumfries, Scotland. Perhaps his only remaining hope would be to get a transfusion of guid Scottish blood which would entitle him to ask----- "Wha's Like Us?"

My first paternal ancestor came to this country in 1646 from Scotland at age 18. He was indentured for 7 years to pay off his passage. After his indenture was paid he was given 10 acres of land in Virginia and 10 English pounds. He worked the land, got married had children and bought more land and sponsored other Scott's to come to this country. We have fought in every war from the Revolution to the present. growing up in Scotland we have a few traditions that I hope still exist (I now live in Australia) 1. when a child is born whether it is a boy or girl we gift them silver bracelets which is to ward off evil spirits. 2. When a child is christened we give out Christening pieces which is two biscuits with a silver coin if you have a girl we give the piece to a boy and if it is a boy we give it to a girl. 3. when there is a wedding and the cars carrying the bridal parties away from the church they throw coins out to the children gathered there we call it bowl money. 4 when someone has a new baby and takes it out in the pram most people stop the mother and put silver coins under the babies pillows.
Yes I remember those putting the christening pieces between the biscuits ,or putting a coin in the pram of a newborn lol ,oh and the scrambles when their was a wedding was great when you were a wean 😂.great memories.
Hi guys, happy Easter, great video as always. Glad you liked the Welsh bible and the picture of Mow Cop castle. You did pronounce my name right, you were spot on. Mow Cop castle (which you also pronounced right) isn't actually in Wales it's in England, it's more or less on the border between Staffordshire (where I live) and Cheshire. My fault, I should have clarified that in the letter. Have a great day.
Spitting on the Heart of Midlothian has nothing to do with luck or prisoners. The old Parliament building stands a short distance away and in 1707 the members were pushing for union with England. The people of Scotland were against the union and there were riots throughout the country, including in Parliament Square. To escape the riots the MPs gathered in the cellar of the Tolbooth Jail, and it was there that the Treaty of Union was signed. People started spitting on the building to show their contempt for the union, and after the building was demolished and the Heart marked the spot, they started to spit on it, and the practice continues today.

(Picture between 30 and 70 drunk strangers on a bus all making friends, sharing junk food, singing, dancing etc. There are videos of this on RUclips if you're curious)
P.S.👍 Congratulations on your sobriety, it's an amazing achievement. 🏆
I've been sober for 15yrs myself so I know how difficult it can be.
That's why I love Scotland ❤😊
I am 66 years old and was born in Scotland. I moved to England when I was 6. I AM STILL A SCOTSMAN THROUGH AND THROUGH !
Glad to have Natasha as part of the Scottish family xx
I don't get the " recovering " alcoholic saying. If you haven't had an alcoholic drink for 17 years then surely you've " recovered " already ?
Many prefer to use the term 'recovering' to acknowledge that we still have the cravings and to recognise how close we may still be to a relapse.
There is no "recovered" it's a daily fight.
I've got friends in Scotland, the best wedding I've ever been too was in Scotland.
The channel Scottish History Tours does amazing videos on old Scottish history actually going to the locations too is he can I highly recommend
"The McNatasha and Debbie Show" 😆
Debbie's reactions to all the traits was epic!
Yeah, that's Natasha. Yeah, that one's Natasha too!
Fantastic.
I was always taught that Scotch was whisky; the people are Scottish or Scots. I'm English; I could be wrong.
You are most definitely not wrong.
Scotch refers to produce. Food and drink. So, lamb, pork, beef etc and of course Whisky.
No,your absolutely correct.
It's a ray of light to know there,s one decent English guy. I get my dander up if called Scotch, don't do it,it's an insult ..
Naw! Yet right, keep it up! 🏴
aye scotch is whiskey in that its the geniune article from scotland-ie scotch-
Glasgow here and so enjoyed this. So pleased to see you watch a video about Scots but even happier to see Natasha find her common traits. If you both ever make it to us, you’ll have a fantastic welcome. Thanks for this video.
Don't worry Natasha. You can go to a pub and have an Iron Bru or a coffee!
On the basis that you would never refer to us as scotch I am subscribing lol
Happy Easter Ladies! Best Wishes!
Happy Easter from Manchester UK
U gotta view Billy Connelly ( The Big Yin). P.s. I'm officially moving to the Scottish Highlands at the end of May. Yay! 😁💕
Another great show lassies !
I love that you actually care about your viewers. 17 years, great work 💪
A ceilidh (kaylay) is a bit like a barn dance. Everyone getting together dancing, telling stories and just having fun.
It's mostly posh folks who go to them nowadays☹️

When I was a teenager I used to go to the Highlanders' Institute in Glasgow. Great fun. Sadly, I think it's long gone.
Thank you for a Scottish video. For Scotland we have the National Trust for Scotland a separate organisation to the National Trust
Happy Easter!! Thanks for tuning in! Drop us a Like and let us know where you are from. This video was so much fun! The Scottish people are absolutely wonderful!! We hope you enjoy this episode. So do you think certain characteristics travel down through our ancestors? We think some absolutely do. Let us know your thoughts below
Love you lassies drinking IRN BRU. Well done hen.
Happy Easter! I may have mentioned once or twice that looking at Scottish inventions would be interesting. There are general listing videos and ones like How Scotland Invented The Modern Word. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised.
(Invented World) is a pile of Tosh/Pish, book on that was ridiculed rightfully.
@@mktf5582 I was talking about the video not the book.
@@margaretnicol3423 Regardless the claim itself is BS.
@@mktf5582 Fine! It's just a light interesting video. Take a look at a list of Scottish inventors/inventions. Why are you so bothered about this?
@@margaretnicol3423 Because separatists use BS claims like this to feed separatism.
wonderfull video thank you very much
Great video! I’m going back to Scotland for my summer holiday (first time seeing the Highlands) so I’ll be watching this a few times and taking his advice 🙂
I love your honesty in your recovery. I'm 3 years.
Congratulations!! Keep it up! ❤️❤️
Proud to be Scottish 🏴🏴
There's another 'monster' in Scotland in Loch Morar. She's called Morag. As they haven't been seen for a while perhaps she and Nessie swam off into the sunset together? :-D
Hello I am Scottish very proud to be,but also proud to be British
Happy Easter to you both 😁 This was a great video! Natasha, I don’t know many Scots, but the beautiful people I do know are exactly as this video describes (and I definitely include you in that). Debbie, your reaction as always was spot on. Love to you both 🏴
Hi, Happy Easter! I'm from Scotland, I live in Fife, just north of Edinburgh, you have to cross one of the Forth Bridges to reach us.
If I'm asked, I'll say I'm Scottish but that doesn't mean I'm in favour of independence but I respect everyone's opinion on the subject.
I'm very superstitious, my whole family are, right down to not cutting our nails on a Sunday because its bad luck lol
I've never been a drinker, I just never acquired a taste for it.
Awesome video, it was so special to get to know you more... loved it.
Hello ladies I'm a new sub from bonnie Scotland 🏴 yes we are a very passionate and loving nation of people ❤
Have a happy Easter everyone 😊
i respect you Natasha on your recovery, you were also talking about the similarities with yourself and the video, well you are 25% scottish it will be in your genes, say hello to your Bonnie ( beautiful ) wife Debbie for me, love you both, you both make me laugh, from Pete 100% Scots lol from Scotland x
Enjoyed the show the Scottish people are wonderful and they know how to party. Love from Ireland.
We think the same about you 🏴🇮🇪
Happy Easter!!. Thankyou for brightening my day 💓
Happy Easter. Not offended at all. Fun for a Sunday morning. 😊🐥🐤🐣
I have English and Welsh blood, so I call myself British.
Happy Easter to you both. Loved this video was so good. You always brighten up my day.
Proud Scot here (Sunny-Port-Glasgow-by-the-sea).. Soo funny to watch Natasha tick every box as the Lad rolled thro' those ten typical Scottish traits.. gotta admit; I identify with them all too. :D
Very good show, loved it, good video too.
It only occurred to me while watching, in the 90's Billy Connelly did a 6 episode programme called
Billy Connellys World Tour of Scotland, I Googled it and it is available on DVD but in the UK it is region 2, I don't know if you are able to play region 2 DVD's, I know that the US is Region 1, its available on Amazon but I don't know if it would be available in the US, I watched it when it was shown and it was very informative, well worth a look.
Aye Bonnie lassie I knew there was something Scottish about you. All the very best to you and yours. Rab from Glasgow, Scotland.
Wishing you guys an Happy Easter 🙂❤
Happy Easter, hello from nearly Scotland 40 miles in on the English side
My aunt lives about 15 miles on the other side of the border in Langholm! Perhaps you could meet in the middle? Entente Cordial??? :-D
Happy Easter both of you, did you notice Sean and Debbie wearing same pattern shirts only different colours 😂
I also have Scottish cousins they live in sterling Scotland.
Congratulations on your sobriety, Natasha! Well done!
Fantastic video ladies, I’m very proudly Scottish and loved your reactions Natasha, the DNA has obviously trickled down. I hope you both make it over someday 🤗
Congrats on the 17 years of sobriety. It's 4 for me.
Be proud and strong please.
Hey all, found your videos by chance and appreciate you love my homeland so much
Scotland born and bred myself.
You gals are great... but anyway, a Scot always, a Brit never.
Perhaps his only remaining hope would be to get a transfusion of guid Scottish blood which would entitle him to ask-----
"Wha's Like Us?"
You need to check out tartan, and see if you are entitled to wear a particular clan. My great great Gran was Scottish. Her surname was Glendinning and the tartan we are allowed to wear apparently is grey, black and white I believe.
Nice one,you should invest even if it’s just a skirt rather than a kilt
@@lilyliz3071 I do have a disabled blue badge holder in the tartan, and I am currently looking for a purse and picnic blanket and rucksack. I also have a bedding set which is very similar to the tartan. I am currently looking to get a skirt made as I am really short, and not exactly skinny so kilts are too long on me. I don’t know whether I can buy a skirt with the right tartan online but will investigate.
@@vickytaylor9155 wow, you’ve certainly got a collection going,I love the badge holder idea,a skirt would be nice, saying that I can’t remember the last time I wore a skirt, jeans for work and dressier trousers for nights out ,that’s as exciting as my wardrobe gets 😀
@@vickytaylor9155 there's places in Scotland that can make you up whatever attire u please in your tartan, rucksacks etc too. check them out and see if can get sent overseas, down south ,wherever u live.. And kilts aren't made for one size. They get made to suit you regardless of shape or size .
My name is Gray ,and just love the colours in my tartan , obviously I'm gonna say that though.
Happy Easter Debbie an Natasha FROM A UK FAN THE LIFE AN TIMES OF NATASHA 😂 OLOLOOLO
We are VERY proud to claim Scottish heritage.

British by birthright and Scottish by the grace of God.
growing up in Scotland we have a few traditions that I hope still exist (I now live in Australia) 1. when a child is born whether it is a boy or girl we gift them silver bracelets which is to ward off evil spirits.
Did your family also have the ‘ never put new shoes on the table ‘ ?

Hi guys, happy Easter, great video as always. Glad you liked the Welsh bible and the picture of Mow Cop castle. You did pronounce my name right, you were spot on. Mow Cop castle (which you also pronounced right) isn't actually in Wales it's in England, it's more or less on the border between Staffordshire (where I live) and Cheshire. My fault, I should have clarified that in the letter. Have a great day.
Thank you SO MUCH!!!!! We sincerely appreciate it!! Sorry got excited about the Bible and for that moment everything was Welsh!
@@TheNatashaDebbieShow That's ok, I should have said in the letter that it's in England.
Hi girls, have a happy Easter Sunday, you should try to visit Scotland if possible.Natasha you Said you would like to see the inside of stately houses,so look up Real royalty mix, where you can see the interior of these Stanley homes.
I am a Scottish girl who lives in Australia, came over when I was young but very proud of my home country. A lot of the things mentioned in this video is what my parents called Scottish morals, they were instilled from birth and yes most of them is how I am and how I conduct myself. Was a great video
Love that you are so proud of your scottish ancestry 🏴😁👍
thank you another great video hope you both keeping well
While we are British we are also proud of our heritage, the Scots and the Welsh have fought hard for their countries in the past, speaking as a Welsh person. Like Wales,Scotland are very proud of who they are. Some people from foreign countries tend to think everyone in the UK are English, nothing would annoy us more. If your not sure where in the UK someone is from say British. Scotland have a lot of regions with their own dialects. I noticed that until recently Braveheart was America's only introduction to Scotland, and maybe Billy Connolly.
I am glad you are learning more about the UK.
