8:52 For those who don't get this scene where Cloud tried to grab Aerith's hand. This scene implies Cloud wanted to save Aerith's death from Sephiroth but he couldn't.
I like how this dialogue change hints at her knowing the events of FF7OG. In the OG, about her white materia, she says "it does nothing". But in this timeline, she says "it's not good for anything at all" because in the OG Holy indeed ends up doing nothing against Meteor.
There are so many great hints that Aerith knows more in the remake than she did in the original game (maybe the planet showed her?). Off the top of my head...she calls Red a "child" even though she has no way of knowing he's a child of his species, she knows Marlene is Barret's daughter even though nobody told her who Barret is (let alone that he's Marlene's dad), when Tifa expressed doubt over whether Shinra would really drop the plate Aeriths goes quiet (and when Tifa later says they can stop Shinra from doing it Aerith goes quiet again), and at the end of the game she knows all about Sephiroth and how he's a major threat to the planet (even though she pretends to only know of him as "the war hero who died" earlier in the game). You'll definitely like it I'll say that much about the Final Fantasy 7 remake all the actors and actresses did a fantastic job released characters of life so you'll definitely enjoy the game
I'm a hard Cloud x Aerith shipper since the old times but I feel the need to say that Nomura is NOT in charge of the scenario of the remake like people like to joke about... the one who rewrites the story is the one who also wrote it in the past, Nojima Kazushige. Which means he most likely won't change anything about his career's masterpiece... Guess we can only hope he's in the mood for better endings and not this tragedy Cloud gets visions of. Also, now that I have seen Cloud in this remake I can't help but realize how depressed he is in Advent Children and makes me want to have Aerith live EVEN more than before :/
I mean to be fair Nomura was the one who proposed the idea of her dying. Plus he practically saved the series at one point by stopping Nojima from killing literally every character but 3.
@@R.-.W I am not 100% sure but I think that in the original game Tetsuya Nomura was only in charge of the characters designs and not in the plot of the game's story :/ i must have read it on Wikipedia somewhere. Then again if you watch the new ending from ps5 version you will see that we are probably going to get both our ways. Aerith will probably die but she will also probably live in a different scenario where Zack actually comes back to Midgar =)
Killing Aerith indirectly failed Sephiroth's plan, as she began her conquest of the lifestream and ultimately stopped meteor. If the remake is what they say, and the cast is aware of their future, Sephiroth will actually try to keep Aerith alive so the chances of meteor striking are higher
I can Imagine Weiss killing Aerith, you can paint a picture Cloud's party get ambushed by Deepground, Cloud and his party is powerless to do anything at all, Weiss calls, Aerith out to go to him, tells her to pray for Holy, cuts her ribbon first with one of his swords, Holy falls to the floor and bounces toward Weiss, and then he kills her with his other sword in cold blood.
But if Aerith lives then fans will just get upset and start saying “iT’s nOt LiKe tHe OriGiNal!” honestly I don’t mind if she lives but I know other people will hate the game if she does
1:55 I think Nomura trying to give us a hint that in the next installment, we're going to have three different routes in the game. And each route have different story. Or maybe we'll the one to decide the fate of our party member. Lastly, it seems that the first installment is for world building story.
“You can’t fall in love with me.” Judging how this game is both a remake and sequel at the same time, where Sephiroth traveled back in time to change things for himself, Aerith somehow remembers what happened and is trying to get Cloud not to have feelings for her so he won’t feel the pain of her death again
But it looks like sephiroth isn't trying to have the events be the same.. looks like things will be different.. sephiroth.. even wanted things to be changed?
Oooooh, her walking away from him in chapter 9 gives me heavy vibes from the scene where she runs away in the forest before the Forgotten City, cloud couldn’t move while she kept moving further away
Since this arbiter dementor thingy had one job and they're suck at it, and Cloud have seen the vision. Maybeeee there's chance that Aerith will be save. Or not
many people including me thinks this is possible. But at same time developers might just be doing this for cliffhanger or they wanna mess with people mind.

Their conversation in Jp during the resolution is better and more clear than the Eng version: -Aerith: You can’t fall in love with me, even if you think you have it’s useless -Cloud: That’s one sided -Cloud: I am coming for you -Aerith: It’s frustrating but I am glad
Don't know how though. Cloud stands there and places Aerith into the water and she sinks, literally a few inches away from Cloud. I didn't know Cloud could float.
I just watched the original ending of final fantasy 7 where the last clip is a vision of aerith looking into the mako energy just as she did in the beginning of final fantasy 7 and the remake. Somebody in those comments suggested something that seemed actually very plausible and thats that final fantasy 7 is a vision of the future that aerith experienced through looking into the mako. It would explain why the whispers are after her when you meet her. Im assuming that Cloud has these visions because he's infused with mako or something and has a connection with aerith which triggers him seeing what she experienced in final fantasy 7. As for sephiroth he might experience something similar but on another level. Not saying this is the truth, but it does make the story of ff7 remake more interesting to me 🤷♂️
Omkara Hellcore Aerith might be the one died 23 years ago from the original ff7 and somehow her soul is in Aerith of ff7 remake and guide the avalanche to change the fate
Remake is another reality, they are having visions of ff7 and the whispers are there trying to keep things like ff7. Seph understood the visions, he is trying to change things. Aerith looks to understand too, but She is keeping to herself. The remake end shows Square will change alot of the history on next games.
KARIM MERNIZ I agree with you, letting Wedge and Biggs survive is not bad in my opinion, they’re not husks anymore like in the original and along with Jesse they now have an interesting backstory and marked personalities, I hope that Nomura doesn’t let Zack or Aerith live and doesn’t change any events that happened in the original and the Sephiroth thing is just something added to the story to make it more insteresting and deep than the original and not the stupid timeline asspull that he did with Kingdom Hearts.
@@FeiXenogears yea Xenogears story is definitely better than FF7s. But I'm still glad they remade it. Xenogears deserves a remake because of what happened on disc 2. Rushed and incomplete
I almost feel like Seph was controlling the visions of the "failed future" they were seeing to make them think that the OG ending is the horrible ending which in turn makes them defy destiny; just what Seph wants. I mean, after all, the FFVII AC world is broken and not perfect, but Cloud seemingly finds a place for himself, forgives himself and lives on. With destiny broken, we may see an even darker story line as our characters fight to undo their mistake as Seph fks with Cloud's emotional and mental state even more. Maybe Seph will go after Tifa to torment Cloud and eventually we'll see flashes of a future that "could have been" with the AC family unit. Just has my mind spinning with possibilities!
Yep, the spirit of the original is that every move you make was Sephiroth intentionally baiting you to keep chasing him. The chase is on just like the original, but the specific surprises look like they are going to change. The key specifics of the original have already been blabbered out to the audience.
The ending though, where 500 years later Red XIII is running with cubs in a wasteland, and they look over a rundown Midgar covered in plant life. Apparently all human life has also gone. I think they went wrong somewhere...

Yeah I like that Aerith seems to be aware of her destiny, yet she still has hope that the future can be changed somehow. When I replayed the game I noticed that she was the one who told Wedge to try his best to change things for the better, even if he thinks there is no hope...and because of that his actions are what led to so many people evacuating and surviving the Sector 7 plate collapse (unlike the original game where Wedge died, and nobody escaped because there was no warning). It's interesting to see all the little hints I missed on the first playthrough...Aerith definitely knows a lot more than she is letting on!
Probably these flashbacks are the hints that this game has it’s own timeline. They reused some scenes from FF7: Advent Children. They have different buster sword design like Crisis Core.
@@Bcap222 Yes, that's the weird thing in FFVII. They make CC story after OG, that's why in OG the sword is the same as the one that Cloud use. While in CC and AC, Zack and Cloud have their own sword. All of them are cannon tho, just a little change in design

He's seeing a vision of the dream in the Sleeping Forest from the og game (the last time he talks to Aerith before she dies). There are some really cool parallels in these 2 scenes...Aerith pops out from the wall to surprise Cloud with her body bent over (in the dream she pops out from behind a tree to surprise him with a similar "bent over" pose), in this scene she turns away from Cloud and things go fuzzy/dream-like as she goes deeper into the tunnel (in the dream when she says goodbye to Cloud she turns away from him and cheerily walks deeper into the "tunnel" of trees), and the backdrop of the tunnel has a green-ish tinge (just like the Sleeping Forest does).

"But whatever happens, you can't fall in love with me" Yeah, about this, as someone that played the PS1 version of this game, this advice right here is not for Cloud, it's for the player. Edit: You should have told me that 24 years ago, Aerith!
The last scene... I think that was the original Aerith. Her consciousness. When she was speaking to Cloud it’s like she was speaking to the original one.
Sephiroth won't kill her since he knows it doomed him. The problem is this is knowledge to the Sephiroth inside Destiny's Crossroads. The one who killed her is not the same as that one. I think Aerith will survive this time it's quite obvious. As for the how we have to wait and see.
Every moment with Aerith is bittersweet to me. I’m happy to see her, but there’s always the foreboding feeling that this is going to end very badly, and I don’t think I have the heart to see *that part* happen again. 7:33 This is definitely giving me PTSD.

@@vanthursday wrong. The general concept of FFVII (OG) is life and death. When Sephiroth says "tell me what you treasure the most, because I'm going to enjoy taking it away", the first thing that appears in his mind is Aerith, followed by Zack and then Tifa, Marlene and Denzel appear. Cloud's character arc is about accepting losses. So his first version is an incomplete person, because he forgot his greatest tragedies, and what makes us who we are is the sum of our lived experiences, not only the good things but also the bad things. The scene where Cloud smiles as he lets Aerith and Zack go is a metaphor for him accepting their deaths, and says "I'm not alone" because they are both part of him now. Aerith a few seconds earlier says "it is too early for you to come with me". And in the credits Cloud is riding his motorcycle along a road surrounded by yellow flowers, and Aerith is at the end of the road
Aerith could survive or not. If not, retelling it into a greater tragedy is an option. Such as WHO kills her. A longshot theory yes, just hope i'm wrong.
Well, most likely Sephiroth will not kill Aerith this time. Because, if he does then Holy would be able to save the planet again and thwart his plan again wouldn't it. Her player and her sacrifice is what saved the planet. Sephiroth is not going to go down that road again.
If Wedge and Biggs are alive, then maybe Aerith can somehow survive too. It kind of reminds me a little of Final Fantasy X, where Yuna and the others figure out a way to defeat Sin without sacrificing herself. Maybe in Part 2, they'll get more visions from Sephiroth or someone else, and they can use this info so Aerith can somehow cast Holy without dying. This is obviously a new timeline, so anything goes at this point.
Sin526 It's really just that the situation reminded me of Yuna's journey somewhat with the "break the cycle" idea. Or maybe the cycle was already broken due to what happens at the end with the whispers. I'm curious to see how true to the original timeline they keep it.
What if Aerith still dies, but by her own terms? I can't ever see Aerith defying the wishes of the planet, since she IS part Cetra. It doesn't suit her character. I'd be all for her living, of course, though. There are several possibilities that Square can run with here. It's clear Aerith knows something, probably already knows what's supposed to happen. Hence her warning to Cloud, amongst most of her dialogue in the game. XD They made that fairly obvious. The time traveling theories, though, can go either way. They are obviously going to tell a different story here, so I just hope it's mind blowing!
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking, she won’t die to sephiroth this time. Cloud will save her, but she will die towards the end by her own means. She will sacrifice herself.
Maybe not! According to the Ultimania, those harbingers at the end are somehow related to Yazoo, Kadaj and Liz from advent children (they even have similar fight styles and weapons). Hmm the plot thickens!
handsdown too I heard another possible theory where they were Cloud, Tifa and theory hence the reason as to why the red one has a sword and always targets cloud, the blue one targets Tifa and the yellow one targets Barret and it’s their spirit or something trying to ensure that destiny takes place and is not changed, but there’s loads of theories currently and this is a typical nomura thing to do
I never played any FF game before so I was a little confused at first when playing this, but it was an amazing experience and now I can't wait for part 2. Aerith is definitely my fave female character, SHE CAN'T DIE ;_;
When I okayed ff7 I was soooooooo young. Didn’t understand it much but enjoyed it like crazy. As I got older I didn’t try to replay it because I had moved on to other FF games. I didn’t enjoy seeing them all in kingdom hearts and stuff but I never really got the confirmation that Cloud actually LOVED Aerith (and Not Tifa. I was always rooting for Aerith anyway) I’m very happy this time around they clarified that Cloud actually did love her.
This different timeline thing reminds me some of the Animes I watched Dragon Ball Heroes,Rebuild of Evangelion and Fate Stay Night, anyway if Aerith can be saved in this timeline it means there's an another way to summon holy without her dying and maybe Zack is alive too. it's a REquel.
7:29 Aerith:"Everyone dies eventually." For new players don't know the meaning of this line. Aerith knew she was going to die in the future by Sephiroth
In 4:57 I believe that was the 7 seconds Sephiroth was talking about this looks exactly the same entrance he came in order to kill Aerith but this looks like in my opinion an oppertunity to save Aerith despite of the other visions he has but I think they were warnings. Because in the original Final Fantasy 7, it took Sephiroth 7 seconds to kill Aerith as he was flying down from the air. And he warned also asked Cloud about what he is going to do with that 7 seconds and it seems like in my opinionated theory he is able to react and save Aerith because he remembers the vision at that particular moment when Sephiroth shows himself in the air or even when he is already at that location, making small details he recognizes become big things to realize the outcome and is able to react quickly. However in the next FF7 game Cloud will be able to connect the dots and will probably be able to realize what he should do because of the visions he had so it's like a chance to turn things around and not fall into the same fate as the Original FF7. Despite of Aerith death is what is able to save the world and Sephiroth lose. If Sephiroth already knows that like he has already foreseen that because of the whole destiny thing then he would not even try to attempt to kill Aerith. So either way I hope there is another way for still letting Aerith live and at the same time be able to defeat Sephiroth. Her death should not be the only conclusion to the situation. Even though probably most people would disagree with that.
@@onesmileybaldy8303 yeah since you've told me. But still since this is a new direction the whole part of taking out Aerith would make no sense. Sephiroth already knows what happens in the original timeline, so trying to take her out again means he lose again unless if she knows she has to self sacrifice herself. But that's my take on it.

It's a shitty way to add shock factor. There's 0 build up to his death. It just happened outta nowhere. The entirety of Infinity War is where something close to a legend is at. Unless you're blinded by Disney's shit, you can tell Endgame can't even hold a candle to its predecessor, IW.

Nope Nojima is working on Ever Crisis.

Don't know how though.
Cloud stands there and places Aerith into the water and she sinks, literally a few inches away from Cloud.
I didn't know Cloud could float.
When Cloud said "I'm coming for you"
I felt that
I just watched the original ending of final fantasy 7 where the last clip is a vision of aerith looking into the mako energy just as she did in the beginning of final fantasy 7 and the remake.

Yeah and the vision she experienced called Final Fantasy :D
KARIM MERNIZ I agree with you, letting Wedge and Biggs survive is not bad in my opinion, they’re not husks anymore like in the original and along with Jesse they now have an interesting backstory and marked personalities, I hope that Nomura doesn’t let Zack or Aerith live and doesn’t change any events that happened in the original and the Sephiroth thing is just something added to the story to make it more insteresting and deep than the original and not the stupid timeline asspull that he did with Kingdom Hearts.

Your Faithless Friend He moved on when he finally realized that Aerith wasnt for him and she is destined to be with Zack.

Wedge is frickin dead though. He obviously didn't survive that 2nd fall.
Never thought of the FFX connection until now... good catch
Fwahahaha Probably, but it didn't show exactly what happened.
Sin526 It's really just that the situation reminded me of Yuna's journey somewhat with the "break the cycle" idea. Or maybe the cycle was already broken due to what happens at the end with the whispers. I'm curious to see how true to the original timeline they keep it.
Cloud:I say we falling in love

Not Cloud lol
I dont wanna see Aerith die again on remake.. Ohh no..
They are either playing with us, or expanding the game with new stuffs while playing with us
7:29 Aerith:"Everyone dies eventually."
For new players don't know the meaning of this line. Aerith knew she was going to die in the future by Sephiroth
She's referring to the death of cloud and his friend's in year 500 af
Is good aerith won't die!!! She died for nothink in 1997!!!! Time for cloud and her to be finally happy!!!
May be aerith will have a happy ending, but not with cloud. She will be with jack, may be in the afterlife
@@ogm1234 you mean Zack? Yes maybe cause him too survived 😉
@@RIFCHE23 yeah Zack, whatever, but she with zack is better. With cloud, tifa is better
I think tifa or yuffie are going to be killed instead this time.
@@raregrimebeats1352 so hard that tifa, yuf is 50:50. But i think aerith will die eventually, it should be like anyways
New to the series and she was my favorite made me legit tear up
For people who still don’t get it. The VII remake Trilogy is a sequel to OG.
That’s one exact scene from Advent Children
@@onesmileybaldy8303 oh did not know that, thanks for the info.
Eugene Claude Van Damme I thought the same thing at first but then I learned about that movie
But that's my take on it.
bro i wish i had played the original before the remake so i could understand the references like these when doing my playthrough
