    Stunning theatre rooms. Inspirational. However, the dimensionality of the room should be whatever the customer can afford and makes them happy

    Step 1, 3-8, checks my EuroMillions coupon.
    Anyway, thanks for an inspiring video. I am gonna do this small scale.
    Closest I come to this, a friend of mine's daughter was a nanny at Spielbergs (long time ago)

    I'd like some advice. I'm starting my theater next month and I will have a marantz 8012 (11.2) receiver 7 power recliners with rumble seats on all seating, projector, Bluray player, and Xbox one/PS4. I'm planning on running two 20 amp circuits One for the equipment and the other for the seating. And a 15amp circuit for the lighting all on the same phase. Do you think this is suffecient or is this over kill? Would appreciate your advice. Thanks

    The gap between wall and chairs needs to be 36" minimum by building code. Something else to consider is blasting sound in the closest seat if your chairs are close to the wall. I'd recommend planning a good size gap between every seat and wall at least 5 feet between ear and speaker would be ideal. Many rooms have to compromise, but it's something that needs to be considered when designing.

    Top 10 Reasons I Watch Movies at Home:
    1. I don't have to leave my home, drive somewhere and sit next to noisy ill-tempered strangers.
    2. My theater is NOT a "gun-free zone" so it's far less dangerous and I have access to many weapons.
    3. It saves me a lot of money over buying box-office tickets and theater food.
    4. I have access to plenty of good-priced food.
    5. My A/V system is as good as a THX theater.
    6. Pause, rewind, fast-forward and volume controls are important to me.
    7. I can watch any film whenever I want, not just what's playing that week.
    8. I have a soft comfortable reclining couch with a foot rest and cup holder.
    9. I control the temperature in my home theater so it's just right.
    10. Best of all, I can make out with my wife in private.

    Like most installers. You've left out the 1st and most important step...the cost of the structure of the room (e.g. framing + sound proofing (pointless IMHO to have a HT room if you're forced to keep the volume below a certain level because you have family and your neighbours are close by) and in-room acoustic treatment. Too many people skip over those steps and just spend all their money on electronics...with some money left over for seating.

    I'm just in the process of building a theater room. My question is towards power. I'm planning on running 2 independent circuits of 12 gauge 20 amp circuits. 1 for the equipment which include projector reciever Blu-ray player xbox and playstaion and 2 subwoofers. The other circuit would be for 6 motorized recliners with sound shakers and lighting in the theater room. Would this be enough or should I add a third circuit? Any help would be appreciated.

    How can we hear the sounds of the mobile phones, pets (dogs & cats), dolphins, babies crying, earthquakes, so on, come from the ground up in the movies? I think we should make the ground speakers for those sounds. 🔊 🔊 🔊

    If you live on a farm, and if you have enough room on your property, then you can build an actual building that'll serve as your home theater. With that type of home theater, you can add: a lobby, projection room, bathroom, storage closets, and oh yeah...a heating/cooling system. Although, you might wanna add construction to your budget.

    Whatever happened to placing speakers equidistant from the listener? Or considering your fronts should be equidistant to each other and the primary listening position? Chances are those in-wall subs sound like shit compared to the same drivers, in cabinets, placed in the room like they should be. Not to mention the flood of sound to the rest of the house and your overly patient neighbours.
    This seems like more of an advertisement for an install company than successful home theater tips.

    In-wall and in-ceiling speakers may appeal to wives and decorators but they significantly degrade sound quality, especially for music. Otherwise, nice video!

    • @specialblend218
      @specialblend218 7 лет назад +8

      Actually they can sound better because of SBIR. Most speakers can be installed in-wall if planned for. Triad and Procella have some amazing speakers built for in-wall.

      B&W CT & CI line, too

    • @cmo123100
      @cmo123100 6 лет назад +2

      Agree, this is incorrect, sound can be significantly better when speakers are placed in the wall, a number of speaker designs from Triad, James etc are fully encapsulated providing their own sealed box and calculated volume within the wall, the wall (needs to be very solid and rigid) becomes an infinite baffle and can virtually eliminate SBIR (Speaker Boundary interference Response). The same prinicple is often used when building some recording studios from scratch, the monitors are mounted within a solid wall along with suitable diffusion and absorption acoustic panels to tackle first order reflections.
