I love how he made the melody stand out, and there’s actually excitement and sparks/accents in this performance, some other ones are just sleepy the whole way through. Although I understand they have different styles and interpretations but I like really like his. It has excitements in it.
This Interpretation is what we need in those days! it sounds spontaneous, fresh and creative... Debargue is a pianist, who plays out of the joy of himself and for the sake of the music itself.. and not to impress..this pianist makes me happy! Thanks Lucas, you help, to find a way out of the competition generation! 🙏
A thoroughly idiosyncratic yet brilliant performance. Whoever heard of using pedal, and so much pedal, with Scarlatti? Yes he makes it work. I listen to everything he does with great pleasure, even if I disagree with his decisions.
Michelangeli's interpretation is indeed the classical one that defined this piece in my opinion but this one has so much emotion and I really fell in love with it@@leop4480
so nice to see such dynamism in such an extraordinary performance as always. I am currently doing this song for my grade 7 exam, and it is wonderful to watch a master at work, bravo!
Great articulation and control. Also a bit fast for me personally. Slightly Glenn Gould-esque. Although should say that he's really good pianist (I think).
so not true... all you tempo-fixated people, who are thinking what’s right - please let your own interpretation be an answer to another interpretation..
Indeed, this is a free interpretation, rather jazzy actually. But why not; transcribed as all Scarlatti is for a piano, I think he himself would have played around with his sonorities had he been able to as well.
Renato Gama so not true... all you tempo-fixated people, who are thinking what’s right - please let your own interpretation be an answer to another interpretation.. your opinion worth nothing
John Harlowe John Harlowe you are right - you can decide by yourself.. the only difference between your post and mine is, that i explained why the other opinion don’t matter :)

Yeah, not my preferred version, but it does have its merits. This piece has subtle beauty. But this is not a subtle performance.
For exciting Scarlatti the harpsichordist Frédérick Haas is also worthwhile.

Oh my ! This is absolutely gorgeously played. So many great ideas in this interpretation !
Just brilliant, Mr Debarque...
perfect pace...beautiful👏👏👏
I like how he moves his lips as if to speak yet out comes notes. The piano is his voice and words!
How beautifully said!
This is what I admired as well. ❤
Every thing he plays/interprets opens my eyes. Brilliant!

Incredible! One of my favorite pianists ever!
Magically!
Maestro l'ho sentito ieri sera al teatro Manzoni è stato bellissimo!!! Che talento e che maestria, grazie 1000k❤
Wonderful performance! 👏
Merci c’est beau
Очень люблю эту сонату
wowww!!!
L'intention est toujours parfaite...beaucoup d'émotions!
great melody
Merveilleuse intention et phrasé poétique, quasi romantique...
Touchant. On adore
Trop d'intentions, ça peut devenir pénible. La merveilleuse simplicité et l'élégance de cette musique sont mises à mal ici.
Grande!
A most mercurial performance. Thank you for your performance. It was an interesting perspective. :)
Extraordinario 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Best performance of this piece I have ever heard
E Michelangeli?

same!
Nice thoughtful reading. Enjoyed it very much.

Nobody can beat ABM in this sonata
Facts
IMHO, Anne Queffélec beats Arturo (a CD of her debut album, circa 1970, is available on the Apex label)
Dziękuję

Anyone who complains about a performance - too romantic, too fast, too slow - play it yourself.
Brilliant and thank you for uploading 😊

é più emozionante di tante altre interpretazioni . grazie from italia .
Tempo is a tad too fast for my own taste.
Don't listen to Michelangeli's rendition then !!
@@flouz2 Yes, Michelangeli's is seriously fast

A little too fast for me, but lively and well articulated
Great pianist, little bit too romantic interpretation for my taste

So unbalanced yet so careful and expressive
