One best things I remember you guys suggesting in a video is limiting yourself to 4 paper's.. I was previously get 30, 60, 90+ insets a week and I felt like I was drowning in all the inserts, deals && running around. Plus tho it's nice to have a huge stockpile I personally feel it takes up too much space & my time.. I now focus on certain deals such as under a $1 OOP and MM deals, exclusively shop at Target. Former Target employee here.. You don't have to go to guest service if a employee with a PDA scanner is around, most of them should know how to make a rain check, some of them can even substitute the item for a similar item. So if some off brand TV (example) is on sell, you can get another product from the department for the same percentage off. It doesn't even have to be the same size or type of TV.. It doesn't even have to be a TV (can be a gaming console, sound system, etc.) The first three digits of the dcpi have to match for a substitution. The only real stipulation is that a sale item can only have one substitute and the item you want substituted has to be an item that is actually on sale by some percent (can't be buy one get one etc..). There are some sale items that substitutions are not allowed on, but most are fair game. I mentioned a TV as an example, but the same can be done with most sale items from any department.
I have watched tons of target coupon videos and this is the first one that was simple fun and to the point. After being a military wife for fifteen years I only knew how to coupon on post. Thank you so much for teaching me how to coupon civilian style :)
I want to thank you ladies for turning me on to how awesome Target is. You had talked about Target in a previous video and it was right when I was starting to coupon. I live in Canada, actually, so some of the information doesnt pertain to me (clearance days, and we dont have cartwheel, foro instance) but the fact that they allow you to use BOTH a store coupon AND a manufacturers coupon, AND price match, makes them awesome. Its harder to get a deal here in Canada as none of our stores allow you to double or stack coupons, and there are more rules and less coupons out there in general, but your tip about target has made me get my bill at target down by 40 percent! So thank you! :)
Oh you've already helped lots. :) I think it would be a TON of work for anyone to try to do information about couponing for both the US and Canada- because its so different in a lot of ways. Like, we dont get weekly coupon flyers- we get them about every three weeks or so, and they are more limited. And we do have printable coupons but not nearly as many as you folks do, and we dont have the mobile coupons or the cartwheel, etc. But we do have the target store coupons, and we do have rebate aps (in fact Checkout 51 was created in Toronto and we had it first! :) ) - we have Snap, Checkout 51, Zweet (which i dont think is avaibale to you yet but keep your eyes out because I think its coming your way) and save.ca has a few rebates but their ap is pretty clunky so I dont use it often. But all the tips you give about the price cuts, and checking for the precentage sign on the clearance ticket- and price matching all apply here. I hadnt really thought about shopping for groveries at target before I saw your videos and now Im so glad because I shop there first and save so much. And now Im going on and on haha- so thanks and keep up the good work! Bless you. :)
OK- I wanted to say one more thing- haha- you poor dears ahving to read this. :) But sometimes its good to know that what you're doing makes a difference. After staring to coupon at Target, I was able to get things so cheaply that I was able to fill more samartians purse Christmas boxes this year. I got Ivory soap bars for FREE lst month and got packages and packages of pens and pencils for pennies, etc. Also my kiddos have eczema but we're on a limited budgets so the expensive aveno creams are so pricey for us, but since couponing Ive been getting them for like 80 percent off. Amazing. Ok- enough now- but you really are helping some of us out here with real life stuff. Take care. :)

I think burnout is something we all struggle with. The important thing is it's okay to take a break. And when you come back, simplify and work with just one store.
LOVE KCL! My husband and I are both students and this has been one horrible year. I was in a near-death car accident (tractor trailer +car=bad) then in May my husband was diagnosed with Lymphoma, now my 2-year old cat has arthritis and needs extensive knee surgery plus we've been helping out my grandmother. Thanks to KCL we can still afford to eat! Plus we're still able to donate stuff to one of our favorite local charities.

This is the best money saving video I've seen yet! I'm just starting to learn how to coupon, most videos are so long I just can't get to the end of them! This one was short, sweet, and to the point while still giving me all the info I need! I LOVE target, it's got everything, but it can be so pricy, but I don't want to sign up for a rewards card. +Mallory Gardner That's a recent change. My local Target always price matched and let you use coupons up until around November-December of 2015. So a very recent change. You are correct though Target will price match but you can't use Cartwheel or any coupons, you still get the 5% RedCard discount though.

actually you can't buy as many of one product to get gift cards. each store has their own limit. mine is 4 per household per day, that way everyone has the chance to buy it.

Question, Target's cartwheel app allows you to print the scantron bar code, my question is does that bar code identify your account; or does it contain all of the coupons you've chosen and added to your cart app? Does the barcode have to be reprinted every time you change or add new coupons in your cartwheel account online? If so, then you can't laminate it to your keychain, right? the targets in PA said they did away w/ rainchecks cause they said only 5-6% of the customers actually came back to redeem them, I was pretty disappointed cause rainchecks are a couponer's bff!! great work you two on this video, loved it
I just got a raincheck at my Target in the Pittsburgh area (PA) 2 weeks ago. Super friendly employee! Hopefully your stores will change their tune soon! Definitely not a PA thing!
MicheleL as a target employee in the Pittsburgh area they did do away with the rain check slips that you can pull off the shelf when something is out of stock. If you want to get a rain check just ask one of the employees at guest and they should be able to get you one. This also depends on what the item it that you want to get a rain check for. Certian items are not eligible for rain checks but it is always worth a shot!

This is a great video. By following it you will save between 20%-30% each trip. That's usually the average of what I save. Once in a while you'll get lucky and save 50%.
it is getting harder and harder to roll g-cards at target.I went to 5 targets this weekend and was told only one transaction per day per person.and this lady when in and did one tranaction .then came back in to do aother transaction .and omg the manager was right on her.she was so upset.so now we just have to go to many targets .that's ok I have many store in my area.Thank you for all your information I have been couponing for almost 5year you were the first person I looked up.and I learned alot from you thank you again you are a blessing.God Bless nana91792
The Krazy Coupon Lady same happened to me i tried to put everything in one transaction n roll over gcards but i was told to do it as separate transactions. I even spoke w the C.S manager n they gave me a hard time. So i just did it separately, holding the line until i was done. I likd target but they always give me a hard time w coupons even if i showed them their coupon policy or even if i have the right coupon. Therefore, i just rather go somewhere else ....

Totally love Target, using the store and manufacture coupons, the cartwheel app, plus my redcard debit card to save 5% on top of all that! We also try to take advantage of the gift card deals, but we are not extreme couponers. Of course our stores in SA, Texas don't allow you to roll over gift cards onto your next transactions so I just keep extras on hand, but really don't do extra transactions since they don't allow more than 4 like coupons per household.

Since I have a Windows based phone, I always printed my Cartwheel page with all my current Cartwheel offers, and as they expired and I added new Cartwheel offers, I would discard that sheet and print a new one. Does the bar code stay the same for my account and that is why I can just laminate it and put it in my wallet or key chain? I thought it changed depending on the offers.

Random Target question: Do they give the 5% discount on all reusable bags that you bring in? I was under the impression that you specifically had to buy the reusable bag they sell.

When she is talking about the Ludens she says she is using a Target coupon and a Mobile Coupon. According to Targets policy, you can't combine those 2 because they are both target coupons.

I love shopping at Target and using their Cartwheel app. But I have had the worst time trying to get them to price match on various occasions. I've decided it's not worth the hassle.
I tried to price match at target with a store 1 block away, you had to have the paper pad they would not look at the ad online. I left a whole cart of merchandise in the store and went to my local Giant Eagle where I purchase the items which were 21 panted shampoos and conditioners and paid 18.63 . I wanted to do the buy $40 and get a $10 gift card. They also only allow 4 like coupons where as at the giant eagle they allow up to 12 like coupons. Love my giant eagle
lu h I have had luck with having it on my phone to show them. I usually leave the webpage up so I can get to it faster when checking out in line. I also tend to find an employee in the store and ask them to help me verify real quick if it will qualify for the price match. They usually are more willing than cashiers to think about it and ask if needed. Then at the register I usually drop their name if the cashier is worried or refuses. Seems to work. :)
Yeah I said to the clerk other places use phones and the dates were on the ad pages even,she called the manager and he said it is company policy , I looked online and it is. But they need to get with the program for online uses. oh well. Guess I will stick to my giant eagle as target is a 30 minute drive. I just got 14 bottles of Herbal Essences Shampoos for $14 at giant eagle they were regular 3.49 each on sale for 2/$5 and then a buy 2 get $3 off making them $1 each and the purchases go towards my fuel perks, oh and the store doubles Qs up to .99. the targets in PA said they did away w/ rainchecks cause they said only 5-6% of the customers actually came back to redeem them, I was pretty disappointed cause rainchecks are a couponer's bff!! great work you two on this video, loved it

I just got a raincheck at my Target in the Pittsburgh area (PA) 2 weeks ago. Super friendly employee! Hopefully your stores will change their tune soon! Definitely not a PA thing!

MicheleL as a target employee in the Pittsburgh area they did do away with the rain check slips that you can pull off the shelf when something is out of stock. If you want to get a rain check just ask one of the employees at guest and they should be able to get you one. This also depends on what the item it that you want to get a rain check for. Certian items are not eligible for rain checks but it is always worth a shot!

This is a great video. By following it you will save between 20%-30% each trip. That's usually the average of what I save. Once in a while you'll get lucky and save 50%.
it is getting harder and harder to roll g-cards at target.I went to 5 targets this weekend and was told only one transaction per day per person.and this lady when in and did one tranaction .then came back in to do aother transaction .and omg the manager was right on her.she was so upset.so now we just have to go to many targets .that's ok I have many store in my area.Thank you for all your information I have been couponing for almost 5year you were the first person I looked up.and I learned alot from you thank you again you are a blessing.God Bless nana91792
The Krazy Coupon Lady same happened to me i tried to put everything in one transaction n roll over gcards but i was told to do it as separate transactions. I even spoke w the C.S manager n they gave me a hard time. So i just did it separately, holding the line until i was done. I likd target but they always give me a hard time w coupons even if i showed them their coupon policy or even if i have the right coupon. Therefore, i just rather go somewhere else ....

Totally love Target, using the store and manufacture coupons, the cartwheel app, plus my redcard debit card to save 5% on top of all that! We also try to take advantage of the gift card deals, but we are not extreme couponers. Of course our stores in SA, Texas don't allow you to roll over gift cards onto your next transactions so I just keep extras on hand, but really don't do extra transactions since they don't allow more than 4 like coupons per household.

Since I have a Windows based phone, I always printed my Cartwheel page with all my current Cartwheel offers, and as they expired and I added new Cartwheel offers, I would discard that sheet and print a new one. Does the bar code stay the same for my account and that is why I can just laminate it and put it in my wallet or key chain? I thought it changed depending on the offers.
There were two email request when I clicked the link . One had " lets do this " and "no thank you I want to keep missing deals " with a big smiley face.The there was was one above the target deals that didn't look like that at all. Where they both yours? If not please clarify.

Callie, I'm editing my previous comment. Heather was able to use the Target mobile+Target coupon because she was buying two items. I love shopping at Target and using their Cartwheel app. But I have had the worst time trying to get them to price match on various occasions. I've decided it's not worth the hassle.
Can i use the mobile coupon twice?
I tried to price match at target with a store 1 block away, you had to have the paper pad they would not look at the ad online. I left a whole cart of merchandise in the store and went to my local Giant Eagle where I purchase the items which were 21 panted shampoos and conditioners and paid 18.63 . I wanted to do the buy $40 and get a $10 gift card. They also only allow 4 like coupons where as at the giant eagle they allow up to 12 like coupons. Love my giant eagle
lu h I have had luck with having it on my phone to show them. I usually leave the webpage up so I can get to it faster when checking out in line.
I also tend to find an employee in the store and ask them to help me verify real quick if it will qualify for the price match. They usually are more willing than cashiers to think about it and ask if needed. Then at the register I usually drop their name if the cashier is worried or refuses. Seems to work. :)
Yeah I said to the clerk other places use phones and the dates were on the ad pages even,she called the manager and he said it is company policy , I looked online and it is. But they need to get with the program for online uses. oh well. Guess I will stick to my giant eagle as target is a 30 minute drive. I just got 14 bottles of Herbal Essences Shampoos for $14 at giant eagle they were regular 3.49 each on sale for 2/$5 and then a buy 2 get $3 off making them $1 each and the purchases go towards my fuel perks, oh and the store doubles Qs up to .99. Oh thought you would want to know 133 target store shut down in Canada, have a friend who lives there, I was surprised, but she said their prices there were really high,
