Yah Mor keeps interrupting him just to associate himself with kargil experience even though he was nowhere around kargil at that time.
@@VikramJitSingh-kn3et It seems like you were deeply scarred during your journalistic endeavor. It reminds of scene from movie, We were Soldiers with Mel Gibson his Command Sgt Major tells this journalist during firefight, there are no journalist in war just soldiers, so pickup the rifle and fight later that journalist marched with that unit. You should watch that movie
@@pharkle35Thank you for the suggestion.
1. I was affected deeply by battle and the discriminatory treatment accorded to my unique reportage by my own organisation’s higher command.
2. I felt no need to be a soldier firing a rifle though I can easily do so, having won rifle shooting championships since childhood till National level and being a shikari for many yrs. Turning an activist and firing during war or CIOps in Kashmir would have impaired my objectivity as a journalist.
3. The western view on war reportage, as far as the movie you recommend represents it, finds no resonance in the way I view such reportage. Despite being an embedded journalist, I have endeavoured to maintain a critical view when the facts require it.
It's been 24 years since Kargil conflict flared in the Muskoh -Turtuk axis, but no axe has fallen on the Commanders who asked our valiant troops to vacate the posts in the winter of 1998. Brilliant podcast by Gen. Mor and Vikramjit ji.
Thank you Kuldeep ji 🙏
Actually only one post, Bajrang, was vacated against orders. Action was taken following a Court of Inquiry into Bajrang’s vacation against orders. The Pak operational thrust was not to capture posts but to keep posts under fire / pressure while sneaking into the vast unheld or unguarded areas between these far-flung posts on LOC, and then coming in deep to occupy ridges that commanded ‘observation and fire’ of national highway.

It has been 24 years since the Kargil War took place. It's time for us to study all aspects of this conflict. It has been my endeavor to record various issues related to the conflict. As a mature democracy and students of the young generation, such disputes must be studied and analyzed. While we have many stories of the bravery and courage of the young soldiers and officers, let us also understand why and how the entire situation unfolded. Koti koti naman army ko
Vikram sir ko bhut achha knowledge h kargil war ki
It is this sense of selfless sacrifice & outstanding courage of our army that makes it stand out in the world !!! I knew 2 people from 1962 war. They used to tell me that they went without food for 3-4 days. Then somehow a helicopter managed to drop food supplies. The bread was so hard that they couldn't break it and chew it. They dipped it in water , only then it could be earen. Even after 25-30 years , they both had skin disease- some frost bite type, their hands were very rough.
Fortunate enough for having been . part of our sys in HQ NC as GSO 2(Addl). It was a critical moment for all. Journalist Vikram jit has narrated the Kargil Episode very minutely. Whosoever, saw kar kargil and its surroundings, can imagine about the criticality of finghting war in a tipical terrian and toughest one. Jai Hind.

I was in touch with then MGGS, HQs, NC, in the initial weeks of the war. Got interesting news developments on the war from him. Later, the Mirage bombing with laser-guided munitions I also got from another senior officer at HQs, NC.

General Mor sir, as vikramjit singh is telling I agree with him on every point because as earlier I had also commented but you didn't pay any attention. I think perhaps you thought he is just NCO and don't have any knowledge about kargil. I had been there from 1970to 1972and our battalion 18th Punjab fought war and captured all enemy posts including bajrang post. This bajrang name was also given by our battalion. It was our last post in the south of our battalion responsible area. Our battalion did exercise from my Jan to Mar 71in this whole area after handing over our posts to another battalion. Before 71war in the month of October our battalion was moved to Drass Sector to replace JAKLI, but the day war was declared on 3rd Dec 1971we were again shifted to chhanikund to our previous position which was called Kalla pahad and ordered to capture brachil pass this bajrang post was for southest post on brachil pass. So I have full knowledge and memories of this whole area from drass to batalik. My purpose to write this much is only to convince listeners that since you started interviewing Vikramjit singh is the only person who has a vast knowledge about this whole area and spoke hundred percent true. Really it was our security failure and I wouldn't hesitate to say that it was negligence on our part. Usually when we vacates posts in winter we regularly send patrolling on regular basis. Which was not done in kargil sector..If we would have done that than we could save thousands of lives. I don't want to write more but only to salute the all myrters who laid down their lives for motherland. I also salute to Vikramjit singh and you genral sahib. You are doing very noble job by letting people know about the war and valour of our soldiers. It's inspiring and motivating millions of people.
In the last I again salute to vikramjit ji for his courgious job.
Thank you Dip Chand ji 🙏
Bajrang was to be a winter-held post in 1998-‘99 but vacated against orders. This was concealed from higher HQs (ie 15 Corps) as the withdrawal from Bajrang was not reflected in the SITREP.
A COI was held into this in 2000 under the aegis of HQs NC and included 3 Maj Gens. Div and Bde HQs were held responsible for the vacation (and it’s concealment) of Bajrang against standing instructions issued by HQs 15 Corps.
Thanks, sir for your comments and your dedicated service. My unit 1 GUARDS also fought the 1965 war in the Kala Pahar area. I will bring more such interviews to create memories for future generations. I really appreciate your memory of 1971. Thank you and Jai Hind
