I'm quite sure the Bluetooth unit will fit in place of the connector. I bet the there are more bikes with integrated cables are the same
Cries in tourney
Great video, I installed the Bluetooth unit inside my seat post however having issues pairing to app when I depress the junction box the lights to not flash for ready to pair mode, any advise on what’s going wrong thank you
Is the wireless unit comparable with 6770 di2 ten speed please? Thanks for your help in advance
or the 6870 as well ?
Yes, and 6870 too.. BUT you will need either the BT-DN110 battery or the BM-DN100 battery mount. More on my site, of course ;))
@@BetterShifting is that the internal battery? I have the external one.
@@goodwincycles7197 bm-dn100 is the Bluetooth compatible mount for the external battery. Bt-dn110 is the internal battery
@@BetterShifting thanks 🙏
and you still have one more function on the top buttons. press 2 times the button. in my case with a Garmin 830 i use it to go back on the pages
Not sure why you said Wahoo head unit (#ad?), works with other brand head units as well.
I'd say it works even better with a Garmin to be honest (I own a Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt...)
welcome to GCN, a channel sponsored by Wahoo
Their sponsorship to wahoo isnt a secret so far 🤷♂️
..still not sure about the park-tool tools 😉
#askgcntech Why has Shimano not made the E-tube software for apple computers?
GPlama has a video on running e-tube on a mac using a virtual machine, but yeah.. it sucks
How long will the battery last? Will it last six hours, throughout a Century ride?
do you know of a way to use the hood buttons on Di2 to operate the shutter button on a GoPro camera?
Giant of course 🚲
So I have a 2013 Felt f2x cross bike that I use as a road bike (It was a great deal, don’t judge me 🙂). Does this work with all iterations of di2, or is it only for newer versions?
All except 7970. Need bt-dn110 / bm-dn100 battery or mount though
@@BetterShifting so with some searching, it looks like I have the Ultegra 6770 10-speed groupset, so that should mean I can use the Bluetooth with this. Thanks!
@@jediavatar yeah - keep in mind that you'll probably have an external battery mount SM-BMR1 or SM-BMR2. Only the newer BM-DN100 mount is compatible with the wireless module (is an easy swap, looks exactly the same)
@@BetterShifting Yes, I have the externally mounted battery. So you’re saying I would have to change the battery over to the internal version otherwise this module won’t work at all? (Honestly it makes me wonder if the added functionality is worth the cost at this point)
@@jediavatar no, but you do need the newer mount for the external battery. Would cost about the same though. The module is a nice to have but not essential. An alternative is the SM-EWW01. This only does ANT, no BluetoothLE. This means it won't connect to the phone, but will connect to a garmin/wahoo/other head unit
Still watching this eventho for now i can't afford any 11speed groupset, hopefully someday I'll be able to purchase one with di2
can you have only buttons for shifting without levers ? I guess they are called satellite buttons? or climbing buttons..
I would seriously advise against updating the Bluetooth module with the app. If it fails, which it did with mine, it bricks the system. Visit to LBS required.
Just connect di2 with the charger cable to a laptop and run the e-tube software on the laptop
Wow!!!! my next bike will be with di2
Does this work with all shimano di2
Yes, as long as you have the bt-dn110 battery or bm-dn100 external battery mount :). (Won't work on 7970, different plug)
@@BetterShifting ok great thanks
So can you hack a opponents shifter??
Is it true if the DI2 is fully wired you would consume less battery power.?
Is the EW-WU111 D-Fly work whit grx di2?
Does it work with Garmin fenix watches too?
Does sram etap have any cool features like this?
Can I do all that on my canyon endurace cf8 bike
Very cool.....thanks...👍🇨🇦
Nice Video!!!!
Great! Trank you!
Hi, where i buy a module for di2
What are he talking about most of the things he talked about you can do without the unit
Which headunit are you using: why ?:) be good to have a video about HU’s for Shimano di2: hint, hint ! !
Not really hacks, but a regular setup taking advantage of all options.
I am unable to find the app. Is the app disconnected??
Hi. I can put the Wu111 in the mtb with sistem xt di2 2x11v?
Thanks for this very useful video ! Personally no favorite feature : I find them all very useful.
Thanks for making me want to blow my money on Di2 even more. 🤦🏾♂️
@gcntech does anyone know the model number of the short di2 cable? Thanks!
Is there an (IN and OUT) on the module itself or both the same?
Just needs to be inserted in a line, the direction doesn't matter.
#askgntech is that bluetooth compatible with the old 10 speed di2?
thanks
If I wanted to run campagnolo 12 speed shifters but I only wanted to run a 11speed cassette would I be better off with a 11 speed derailleur or a 12 derailleur? Also what brand shimano or campag?
Ideally I'd run a shimano 11 speed cassette (14-30) with campagnolo shifters. What derailleur would work best?
I've mixed and matched before on older groupsets and always found it fine. However I don't know if things have changed a lot.
Kind regards,
Jack
You can turn a 11 speed eps campagnolo shifter to run a 11 speed campagnolo derailleur on a 11 speed as a 10 or even 9 speed . It’s all in the indexing and setting of limit screws
...next: remote tire inflation/deflation
Now we just take our special Shimano DI2 cable tool from Parktool 😂
How can someone change the shifting speed via the app?
You still need newer battery which contains processing unit
#AskGCNTech will it also work for my Edge 1040?
What brand and style bar tape on your Orbea, please?
I have that exact tape on my bike, I was so excited! It is Deda Elementi Presa Black/Orange, and I love it.
Thanks!!
If your app crashes or something goes wrong during firmware update and your system becomes unresponsive, don’t panic, just individually disconnect every di2 component from the battery and plug back in. This app can be a nightmare. Proceed with care.
Why you can’t use your shifters to chance your music on your phone
Because you shouldn’t listen to music whilst riding your race bike maybe....
I'd like to ask if it's okay to use 28c tyres on a 25mm width rim? Will it run smoothly? Thank you in advance ☺
#AskGCNTech
I've always been told there's a 20% rule. I can't remember where I heard it but it makes sense
www.wtb.com/pages/tire-rim-fit-chart would suggest not.....
Hi GCN, can i use an ultegra di2 shifters to a grx di2 rd and a grx 600 calipers? #gcntech
Can you put the bluetooth unit anywhere or does on end have to be directly connected to the battery?
anywhere in the di2 sistem, not just stright out of the battery, how he said, it could be near the front junction box
@@8paolo96 That's great, thanks for your help.👍
It can be anywhere. You do not even have to connect both ends of the unit. Shimano explicitly state that it should not be installed inside the frame, but even that works just fine 99.99999999% of the cases ;-)
False advertising. Title click bait. NOT HACKS, normal available features.
Always get the local bike shop to do any firmware upgrade. The app is notorious for failing half way through loading and as a result your di2 will lock up and you will have to go to the shop anyway. Simply ask them to check for upgrade each time your bike is in the shop
Just do it via the charger, why do you need to go to a bike shop?
@@petal665 Some people just have to go wireless. Go wireless only if one has to.
@@petal665hi how do you do that ?
