More like they were threatened with cancel culture and being labeled racist because people like her have the power online to destroy a business just because they lack a shade or two in a country where primarily everyone is of a lighter complexion except for a few people here and there obviously the biracial people and the POC that move there and expect these countries to bend to their every word or they’re racist
True, tirtir wanted to go international and that means widening their shade range, a lot of companies do the same but don’t understand that to market internationally, they have to adjust for their international audience as well. Which is what’s usually the issue when Japanese or Korean brands try to market outside of their own country 😅
"Willing to help us" is a wild take. They aren't helping us out. We're paying customers. Saying it's great they listen to customers' feedback at last, is one thing & it's which is great. But you don't need deep throat the boot either ong 😂
@@warrenanderson6820 they literally started out in korea before other people started talking about it and making it more popular Their target audience was Koreans, no one else Its literally like brandy Melville. @user-gq8kp9kk4p brands don't always focus on niches. That's a specific business strategy among others. This opportunity clearly falls in line with their strategy, so they took it by the reigns, indicating that it was a necessary strategic move for them and now they have access to a new market regardless of their origins.
I hope this Tirtir saga never ends, it's so adorable! And not only have both you and their brand benefitted from your relationship, but so have makeup lovers 😊
Amazing how it started from Darcei just wanting a cushion for dark skin and then it snowballs into her making multiple videos with a Korean makeup brand and even got to see their factory, that's nuts.
I love when people and companies actively try to improve instead of just ignoring the genuine advice or giving straight up hate and not explaining/offering any suggestions!
Inclusivity is fantastic, and I'm happy Tirtir was able to do this and hope they're successful, but-obligatory reminder that the entire Korean beauty industry is largely competing for a demographic smaller than the population of Florida, and the financial burden of making extra shades with extremely low domestic demand simply isn't viable for most brands without the resources to seriously launch into the international market. Tirtir itself was only able to manage this by sacrificing its domestic marketing to the point that most Koreans are so unfamiliar with its name they assume it's a foreign brand. It really isn't fair to expect the majority of Korean brands to be able to provide shade ranges on the same level as massive multinational corporations like L'Oréal or Estée Lauder.
I'm hoping they expand their paler shades soon too 😭😭 I have a form of melanin eating disorder similar to vitiligo, and every single shade is too warm/orange and makes me look like a Kardashian dkndsnsm. I legit cannot find an actual foundation that works for me in any brand. I'm really glad they're listening and fixing the deeper shades, but I hope the momentum keeps going so they give more respectful variety throughout the whole shade range as well. But I love your videos, Darcei! They bring me so much joy, so pls always keep being you (:
@@MadMvskoke You will probably have to mix for the undertone to be more cold like I do, but Nyx and the Sephora collection have very fair and even up to an off white concealer :) The fairest foundation I‘ve personally came across was the lightest fenty shade. They all are more on the yellow side tho, but that can be fixed with mixing in tiny (!) amounts of cold pink blush and either a liquid blue colour corrector or liquid blue eyeshadow. Maybe even green colour corrector, depending on your skin tone. I’d recommend looking up colour theory and trying it with a little amount first before mixing the whole thing. As a bonus tip: while mixing you can also put some hyaluronic acid, glycerin serum or something else that works for your skin in as long as it doesn’t distupt the makeup. Hope this helps, best wishes from somebody who is super pale too :)
I LOVE THIS!!! We are exact shade twins, so I love that TirTir has expanded the deeper shade range even more. I haven’t spent as much time in the sun this summer, so 43N is still my go-to, but I love knowing there’s a warmer shade! ETA: I just pre-ordered the shade Darcei swatched (45W), and it looks like they expanded their lightest shades as well as some mid-range ones. Good on ya, Darcei!
Yes that foundation is stunning, just used it today for work. The true inclusivity and willingness to cater to those of deeper complexions makes it worth every penny spent😊. Thanks for being a voice Darcei 💕
I'm a guy but I love watching your videos. To me, you embody what an influence should do - influencing companies to make better and more inclusive products. Youthphoria's literal black face foundation paint can take a page from Tir Tir's book.
my problem with this is mainly how horribly it oxidizes, making it almost pointless having different undertones when it all just ends up being extremely warm
No but when i think about it, if it was same situation different scenario for me as an artist. I would be thrilled too. Just imagining this to be a watercolor factory instead and living that dream would be legit amazing. It must’ve been fun for u!!
Hopefully the next shade range update will crate a bunch of in between shades because there is a big jump between the last couple of shade while the lighter shade have a bunch of different variations.
I never used tirtir before. (Not at the age of using a lot or makeup) but I LOVE that they do stuff for their best supporters. You already got a Chanel bag, and you get to see the new shades and the lab! THIS is what it means to be a good company.
They've done such an amazing job! From working with dark skinned Black influencers to Albino influencers they've got to have the whole world covered at this point
I'd appreciate if they did more lighter shades, like for albino and someone who is pale as snow. I'm happy they expanded their darker shades, but when I've seen a video from albino girl, even the lightest shade was too dark for her
Hey! Tirtir posted your video of you trying all the shades of the cushion foundation on amazon!! You are currently “the model” in showing us how your shade looks like!! I was literally screaming “OMG.. that’s Darcei and she is on amazon” So proud of TIRTIR x Darcei✨✨ Love from Canada❤
The fact that you pointed out that they take the criticism and have a lot of room to improve proves that they are underrated enough to listen to their customers and make their wish come true. Also it’s pretty thick skinned of them to take the criticism and improve❤️
Okay your enthusiasm has sold me on it to try it. Im usually a budget makeup girlie but if they care that much about inclusivity (im not a brown girlie but it matters to me that brands care to make shades for all) ill give it a shot i just bought my shade

I love their product so much. I don’t wear foundation very often because it’s so hard on my skin, but I can get away with wearing theirs much more than others, and it’s so light and natural-looking. Easily my favorite product in the last three years.
Thats amazing but for me i think they should add some more shades in between them and before the darkest shade they should add a few more other dark shades
okay now that's amazing. This is what i ant to see more, brands willing to improve (and honest and critical influencers). You can be proud of you, as u help this brand ACTUALLY improve ! And also making dark shade of skin tone and not greyish foundation they sell for dark skin. Amazing queen, u have my respect

This is great! As much as there aren’t too many deep shades in different undertones, us green people need options too. Even American brands that so called, Olive friendly end up looking slightly off. Oh, and olives can be either cool leaning or warm, regardless of how light or deep.
