  • Welcome to a special two-part episode of Wonderful World of Darklords! We found ourselves completely unable to contain the discussion of Disney's most adult, complex villain in a single episode. It's not our fault (nostra culpa); we're not to blame (nostra culpa); it was the Disney film that called for our acclaim (nostra maxima culpa). Join Tom, Rachel, and semi-professional Frollo antagonist Kris Newton as we delve into the Cite de Notre Dame and its lord. Topics discussed include:
    • An act of ultimate darkness that draws on another work of gothic literature, which lets us give Frollo some supernatural powers even though you just know he hates magic;
    • How the domain already reflects Frollo's personality and torment, even though it doesn't have a single other hypocritical, genocidal judge;
    • The most exciting point in the events of the movie to set the status quo, giving your PCs the opportunity to take advantage of all those delicious fracture points and tension lines instead of letting the NPCs do it for them;
    • The thematic richness that's already overflowing from Notre Dame Cathedral, the Palace of Justice, and the Court of Miracles, and how to reflect it with both flavor and mechanics;
    • and more! Including, believe it or not, the gargoyles.

    i miss sinkholes of evil from the old editions. i feel like that would help explain your exhaustion mechanics based on place easier then just having to spell it out everytime. in this domain more than any of the others especially.

      yeah, we basically started with sinkholes of evil and worked our way backward to a 5e version, but that is what we were going for.
