  • Welcome to the second part of our Double Stuf Wonderful World of Darklords! (Frollo disapproves of this gluttonous Double Stuff debauchery, but that just encourages us.) In this episode, Tom, Rachel, and guest host Kris Newton dive into the dread possibilities and parting thoughts for this hair-sniffing hellfire hypocrite. Topics discussed include:
    • The nigh-impossible challenge of aging this movie down, the cakewalk of aging it up, and the chainsaw-juggling of aging it up without losing friends;
    • The unique opportunity that Notre Dame offers for a slow-burn recurring setting as Frollo tightens his grip on the city;
    • Genres of horror that range from the predictable to the avant-garde, and how each genre allows you to accentuate a particular aspect of the setting;
    • Campaign ideas that spring fully formed from our conversation like a mist-shrouded Athena, complete with apocalyptic Ezra cults, uneasy alliances with Ivana Boritsi, and optional demons;
    • And more!
    Plus, Rachel proves that while she's embarrassed about shilling our own Patreon, she is absolutely shameless about shilling her friends' Patreons, particularly if they have vampires in them.

    A lot of what you guys talked about reminded me of season 1 and season 3 of Castlevania. If you watch them closely you will see how they fit a Notre Dame dark fantasy story. Great work as always and I will see you soon in the next one.

    I mean you could make it so that minor dark lords can be defeated and but they don't have plot armor for very long. And if you really wanted to stretch out sessions takes place in this setting add in a few other minor Dark lords that you'd have to take out and sidequests maybe like evil Pinocchio and the playwright

    i really like the idea of this being a domain within a domain and feel like Paridon would be an interesting fit for it. the court of miracles could be run by dopplegangers.

      Yeah, that's a great location! You've got the crowded mega city, and Frollo could easily be in the Divinity of Man. The hardest part would be a sympathetic arch-deacon style cleric of that religion.
