  • Taming THC: Potential Cannabis Synergy and Phytocannabinoid-Terpenoid Entourage Effects is one of the most important research papers in cannabis medicine. For many, it was the first time they had read an explanation of the interaction between THC, CBD, terpenoids and minor cannabinoids explained in terms that a layperson could understand. On today's episode of Shaping Fire, Dr. Ethan Russo sits down with podcast host Shango Los to discuss the paper in detail and further explain and illustrate his research. This is a must-hear show for anyone serious about cannabis medicine. You can read the paper in full here: bit.ly/2lrsB3z

    Very interesting Talk. I've been using Cannabis for nausea for decades whenever I got the flu. In 2005 I got Chronically sick with Chronic Pancreatitis, SMA Syndrome, and Gastroparesis (I've lost over 100lbs)! One of the Meds I was given is Dranabinol (Generic Marinol, synthetic THC) for my nausea and have found that smoking the Cannabis Flowers (see buds, lol) is much more effective and acts MUCH faster than the RX Meds. The best part of using cannabis (smoking) is when I can't keep ANYTHING down, including water and meds. That's when I get a little Cannabis out and take 2-3 puffs and my nausea is gone within a few minutes and I can get my other medications to stay in my stomach. It also helps the pain, but is usually short term (an hour or 2 max). I've also tried straight CBDs for anxiety and that also works great for my anxiety and depression. The one drawback to cannabis is that some strains can cause anxiety, so I am very careful on which strains I use ( So far Critical Mass is the best strain overall on all my symptoms without the anxiety some strains can cause). I just wish everyone that is against Cannabis (not for financial gain, i.e Big Phrma) would do their own research as to the real reasons it became illegal and how the Government, Wealthy individuals and Big Pharma got together and made it so using scare tactics of the day (really racist comparisons/blame back in the early 1900s). Unfortunately these days most of the real info would be called fake news by those in power or are just unable to think for themselves! My one question to them would be, If cannabis is so bad for us, then why do we have cannabinoid receptors in our brain? Why does it help so many symptoms without the scare of overdose that RX Meds can cause? WAKE UP PEOPLE and stop believing others that have everything to gain by keeping it illegal and everything to lose by making it legal (you can grow your own meds taking the profit from big business). Do your own research to get the real story. Thanks.. :)

      Short answer no. Long answer is that I have a tincture dosing episode coming out soon and a cancer protocol video coming out soon. For now you may want to read the formal studies and see what dosing they use in those at ProjectCBD.org under "Conditions."

    Excellent! When I saw how long the podcast went I didn't know if I could sit through - but I found myself becoming more interested as I listened. Couldn't take all that information in, but I did take in quite a bit, especially helpful in developing my direction toward breeding. Terpenes!.

    Very interesting and informative lecture. I wonder though why the addictive nature of these substances was not discussed.

    • @ShangoLos
      @ShangoLos  5 лет назад +5

      Because there is zero scientific evidence that any compounds in cannabis are addictive. Just the opposite. Cannabinoids actually decrease addiction including alcohol and opiates. Here are some scientific studies to back my words up. www.projectcbd.org/condition/4/Addiction

    10 mg of thc is to close to 0.

    • @ShangoLos
      @ShangoLos  6 лет назад +1

      It is very close to zero but that is a reasonable dose for many patients. In fact, studies show that for many ailments the proper dose is 2.5mg THC and 2.5 CBD in a whole plant tincture given every three hours. True that chronic pain patients, those with auto-immune disorders and many others need huge doses but that is a small subset of all patients. Cannabis dosing is exceptionally variable and has to be tailored to the individual.

      Do you know of any studies on whole plant material, or concentrated edible product 2500mg and higher?Maybe 5, 10 grams of concentrate per dose. Rick simpson's train of thought seems to be much needed here in the US of A. I'm not to sure, but it seems the lower doses come from a fear based state of mind. and mainly the older folks who may be in control of this system and were raised to be apart, or a target of the drug warare continuing to perpetuate the myth, that anything over 100mg is the devil, and a drug and should not be allowed. though many of us don't even know what a mg of thc looks like unless it is coated in chocolate. In return patients buy more of the low dose product which is wrapped in sugar(organic or not) and may claim this to be medicine. Although a patient came to get thc/cbd. in the end the ratio was still in favor of grams of sugar to mg of what was supposed to heal them.On a brighter note.Thank you for your pod cast, I think you do a fine job. and I hope all is well on your endRyan
