My latest is Wedgwood Butterfly Bloom. Saw it on Nicholas Fairford's RUclips channel. He's got a lovely, relaxing channel. I have a small collection and I don't usually drink tea, but they're all so pretty. I'd love a cabinet just for them since mine are scattered all over the curio and dining room. Enjoyed this video.
Oh, I just love Nicholas Fairford! I recently added the Wedgwood Butterfly Bloom teacup to my collection. 🦋 You could look for a teacup/plate shelf to display. Such fun! ☕️
@@LadyMaryBeth I've been looking for one, but haven't found the right one yet. Had one years ago, but gave it away to a friend who still has it for probably about 30 years or so now. Can't sleep - onto another of your videos!
I am so pleased to have come across your lovely presentations. I admire and enjoy your collections and knowledge. Thank you so much, Lady Mary Beth, for sharing with us.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful tea cup collection. I also have many from around the world and enjoy them as much as you do. I find them comforting and I like the sound they make. We have monthly theme tea parties in our family which is so many sweet memories.
I like the way you think with the sounds of the tea cup and saucer. Never thought much about it, but it does make me smile. Hosting monthly tea parties is a great tradition!
I need to add more Japanese tea cups to my collection. Just uploaded a feature on my English cups and saucers. Such fun! We need Kaffee und Kuchen to go with it!
You will probably start noticing barley twist furniture now when you shop at antique stores. I just love it! If you watch period dramas, you will see it on the set. Yes, can't get enough teacups.
I have watched period dramas ALL my life beginning with old movies we watched on tv as I was growing up. In my twenties I discovered a gold mine of period dramas when I stumbled on Upstairs Downstairs on PBS while I was living in FL. Initially I was just as fascinated by the movie sets (furniture, period decor) and locations as I was with any plot. Eventually it was part of why I chose to make New England my home. I fell in love with the rocky coastline of Maine watching a Betty Davis movie one year. I have lived in many locations in both NH and Maine, making New England home the majority of my life. It is the closest I have managed to reach my ultimate goal-Britain.
I just found you. I started collecting tea cups 4 years ago. I love them so much and I feel so special and fabulous drinking out of them. Your pretty face and bubbly personality in the way that you describe your collection is so wonderful. No one in my circle gets my obsession but I see you do and I appreciate that very much. Thank you.
A viewer who watched this segment asked for a closer look at the backstamps. Look for a more recent video on my English teacups. Lots of history shared. 🫖☕️
So pretty! I love the teacups that I acquired quite by surprise! Thank you for sharing! And (random thought) I love the music you paired with the video! 💗💗
Wow truly beautiful collection. The florentine turquoise at the moment is my pattern of choice for a dining set in the future. So stunning the turquoise 😍 the one from Japan is so unique and I loveeeee the all gold set! New subscriber from the UK 🇬🇧 😘 keep on posting your doing amazing 👏
So nice to meet you here! I occasionally find the Wedgwood Florentine Turquoise on shopgoodwill for a steal, but always outbid. Hope you add this pattern to your tableware collection.💙
I stumbled into your channel because I’m starting to collect teacups. I thought I wouldn’t like you, but man, you’re so knowledgeable about teacups and teapots! I specially enjoyed your videos on these topics. New subscriber here 😊
Love your collection. Beautiful cups and saucers. I collect cups and saucers. I have a teapot, and cups and saucers, I would love for you to look at them. I tried to find information about them but I don’t know how. Will you help me. Pat in NC
Would love to! Please join our Facebook group page: Lady Mary Beth's Table & Tea Settings. You can post photos and I can help identify. Be sure to include the backstamps.
I’ve been wanting to start this collection, but didn’t! I have a couple pieces from Royal Albert that was gifted to me💕They’re so pretty. Love your collection! New friend here❤️Thanks fir sharing!
R Potpourri A teacup collection is such fun. Hope you can add to it with Goodwill and thrift finds. Have you shopped Goodwill online? Lots of deals there. Check out my other segments for tips. Thanks for popping in and being a friend! 😘
Just realized I don't yet have a Royal Albert tea cup in my collection. You are inspiring me to find one now. Just released a new segment featuring a closer look (including backstamps) of the English beauties and a bit of history on the factories. Have a great day!
These are lovely. Thank you for sharing some of your collection with us. I have a large collection, too. I notice you have a Royal Crown Derby "Vine" cup & saucer on your top shelf. I have a couple of pieces of that. RCD also used the Vine pattern to combine with their "Posies" china pattern. I'm not sure if that resulted in entire dinner sets of the combined pattern, or just occasional pieces. You're right about finding great finds at thrift shops. One time, at an auction, I bought six Wedgwood Ulander Powder Ruby cups. Sadly, he had no saucers to go with them, but I liked the cups so I bought them on their own. Years later, when I was browsing at Goodwill, looking for cookbooks, I found six Aynsley saucers in the very same shade as the Wedgwood colour. Each saucer has a different flower in the centre, and the gold trim is different for each one. They are not done in the "powdered" (speckled) finish, but their colour matches perfectly, and since it's an unusual red, that's all that mattered. I will be sure to check some of your other videos. Thanks again!
You had me at Ulander Ruby. ❤️ Love this Wedgwood pattern and admired it during my Waterford-Wedgwood career start. Great eye to find the cups and coordinating saucers. 🙌🏻
@@LadyMaryBeth Thank you. I also have a few pieces of the Ulander Powder Turquoise pattern. What I really like is that the inside (underside) of the cup handles are lined with gold. Yes, I was happy to have found the Aynsley saucers that match the Ruby shade perfectly. One never know what will be found at Goodwill. I once found a Staub 5-quart cocette in the pumpkin shape for only $15. Brand new, and it still had the original stickers and emblems on it. At the high-end shops, they are over $400.
@@sashineb.2114 You scored unbelievable deals! Wow, the Staub pumpkin new in box is one for the books. 🙌🏻 The Ulander Turquoise is a treasure. I have always admired Florentine Turquoise.
Laura Gunn, Tea cups feature a wide-open rim at the top and a tapered-down base while coffee cups are usually straight-up and narrower. Most Chinaware manufacturers today offer only one shape and style cup. It’s important to look and hold all pieces when selecting a pattern.
HelloLady Mary Beth I came across your YT home because of your tea cup collection I have some few pieces find in thrift store also gift and some i owned..actually I cohost english high tea party last week.. you have nice pieces if you are interested maybe you can join in my upcoming Tea party collaboration I'd love to have you and you can met alot of creators joing in.. Im your new subbie.
This is a beautiful collection! But what I don't understand is why there aren't close-ups of each cup I'm not the whole way through the 5-minute work. Many people watch this on their phone and so we're not watching it on a big screen TV therefore we need close-ups. You could do this by holding your camera in your hand and focusing on each teacup. What people don't realize this they don't need to be on the screen just show their beautiful items. So maybe you could do this again put your tea cups on your dining room table hold the camera and do close-ups as you talk about them thank you for sharing
@@LadyMaryBeth I'm so glad you didn't take that as criticism because it wasn't I'm just very interested in seeing them all up close and maybe include the marking on the bottom! I just bought a Japanese lusterware tea set and I love drinking my tea in the beautiful teacup and making my tea in the beautiful teapot. I always put hot water in both the tea cup and teapot to warm them up as I make the tea... That way I don't worry about the heat causing a crack to form... Plus I think the tea stays warmer longer!

Blue and gold see stunning.
I'm a guy, older than dirt. I collect tea pots and cups and the odd cream and sugar sets. I enjoyed seeing your collection.
Wedgewood blue and the English tea cup with the bird in the middle are really exquisite.
Can't get enough of the English teacups. Hope you always take time for tea!
What a lovely collection!
