      If you ever want to get rid of tannins, use a pack of purigen. I mistakenly put it in a black water tank once and the water went crystal clear in under 2 days.

      Sorta would like to see the Amano shrimp and nerite snails outta there and replaced with ghost shrimp from the US and a native snail.... and make it more of a biotope.... the Krebensis c8chlids do better in a larger aquarium with african butterfly fish leaf fish congo tetras congo puff er s ropefish and all of those tough fish ... you're never going to be able to keep them in a small tank with anything else.... put emerald eyed rasboras or a tiny fish in that tank ... chocolate gourami are nice .... give those kribensis some room and bigger tankmates!

  • @patrickdijkman8974
    @patrickdijkman8974 3 года назад +67

    Dont change the Krib-tank yet, it is good as it is. The algae will also contain little crustaceans for the little ones. And like Gary already mentioned below, you need baby brine shrimp going! Will also benefit all the other fish, they are creazy about it. Have a looksy at some of the Aquarium Co-Op videos on how to raise baby brine shrimp, then you will get an idea of how it works and how fish react to them.

    • @heaven7360
      @heaven7360 3 года назад

      I don't understand what the reason is to change the tank up. There's so many other tanks to change up. It's counterproductive.

    Endlers are my favorite fish. Picked up 10 feeders for $1 one day, and threw them into my newly planted 75 - only knowing they require a heater. One day I saw one birthing live young and my heart was stolen. All they do is fight, eat and breed constantly, they don't wait for any change in temperature or water conditions, it's just go time, all the time. lol fascinating creatures to watch.

  • @rynoleroux8843
    @rynoleroux8843 3 года назад +13

    1st. Thanks for the great content 😁 I'd leave the krib tank as is for a couple weeks. Might find the odd fry survived. Those Rams will start soon. They will lay their eggs on that rock close to the section that they are preparing. If they don't eat the eggs, the wigglers will be moved to the spots that they dig out. They usually dig out 2 to 3 spots throughout the tank and move the fry from the one to the other fairly often. I found the best way to get mine to spawn is to do a 10% water change with cool water and to feed fry food. If the parents know there's food for the fry and fresh water is introduced it should trigger a spawn 😊😊

    • @rynoleroux8843
      @rynoleroux8843 3 года назад +4

      P.S. It's quite common for dwaft cichlid males to eat the eggs or fry. Sometimes even the females do. It depends on how safe the parents feel, how stable the tank is kept etc. etc. You can either remove the media on which they laid the eggs and attempt to hatch and care for the fry yourself or you can leave the parents to "learn" and become the type of parents that don't eat their fry when they are moody 😅. Love from South Africa!

    Also the blackwater neon tank is looking absolutely gorgeous, I love how dark it is
    If you have all those different colours of shrimp on one tank, after a few generations all the offspring will just be wild type brown though

    Hi all. I'd like to point out your ecosystem tank is benefitting from a 25 degree ambiance temperature. I believe this would not be possible in a lot of homes without heaters and corresponding bills. I therefore challenge you to build a low maintenance eco tank in your old shed and not to heat it. I think the change in plants cleaners and fish choices would be of great interest to those of us that want a nice unheated tank in temperate temperatures.
    Thanks for all your hard work in putting out these programs you really have a way of entertaining and informing on producing beautiful works of art. Your fish also seem very happy and it's lovely to see. 👍👍🤜🤜👏👏

    Beautiful fish. Guppies are not giant Endlers. Guppies and Endlera are technically two different species, but they can produce viable offspring when crossed with each other. And essentially, anything that isn't a wild type Endler has been hybridized with Guppies. Most of the variations called Endlers are actually Endler/Guppy crosses.

  • @ReneesZooTube
    @ReneesZooTube 3 года назад +2

    Foe the Kribs, if it ain't broke, don't "fix" it! They bred once already. Don't mess with anything, just let them be.

    I would leave the krib tank the way it is. You had a successful spawn in it, and the parents are obviously comfortable. In the meantime, I would set up another tank for the kribs the way that you want it. Then when it is time to separate the parents from the new spawn of babies, I would remove the parents and place them in their new tank which you have waiting for them.

Same for the scape, in this one I was expecting more connection between the submerged and emerged part with more musk and plants with roots in the water! For the rest u are number 1 channel in yuotube for me. Cheers :) and keep it up like this. Luca

    You don’t need to remove the babies until they separate from the parents. They can stay there no problem at all.

    Krib tank - cut the plants back but leave the rocks / scape! It is too heavily/densely planted.

    I say you leave the Krib tank as is. Maybe set up a new one for the parents for after you remove them to separate them from the fry. Since you probably want to scape something new.

    MD this tank is comin along real nice. I have a question. What do you end up doing with your plant trimmings? Replant or throw away? since you have so many planted tanks i wasn’t sure.

    What does “predator time mean” in your tank please? You would introduce a fish predator to reduce the numbers?
