- Lives of people in Chhattisgarh - commoners or royals - have always been linked to the forests. Aditya Bal visits Harwakodo, the residence of the Muria Tribe, where 'Suksi', a dried fish variety, preserved using an age-old smoking technique, is used to prepare a unique dish, which accompanies a roti made with cooked rice, rice flour, and paan leaves. He also meets Kanker’s royal prince who reveals a traditional recipe, the 'Mahua Maans’, which got lost in the pages of history because hunting wild animals became a criminal offense.

The copper cooker was in use in 1910s and was called Rukmani Cooker in South India. My grandma had it.
I used to have a steel one in the early 90’s😊 it’s icmic cooker, I only got to know that it is an Indian invention by Indumadhab Mallick 👏

I have eaten suskshi quite alot,I guess it's bcoz I have every summer vacation it was quite common to eat in the village and my parents stuck with her roots,mahua is definitely not found everywhere so it's rarity isn't surprising,even the sukshi we eat is actually made quite simply as most of what they are saying is found in forest area so not common in cities so we cook it with simple home ingredients and it's still tasty.

Food is ok but the information provided about chhatisgarh is not correct.. atleast reasearch properly.. Kanker was part of dandakaranya not of those 36 garhs ...and several other points are there.
