I like combining different interests, e.g. taking b/w photos, editing them till mostly only the outlines show and then I print them and colour them with watercolours. Ok, that is a bit lazy, but the results look great. Here is something more challenging for a rainy day: If you have a model railway (or know someone who has), it is a nice practice to draw those buildings or your rolling stock from different perspectives.
Hey I love your videos! I tried to order your drawing course from Class 101 but there seems to be something wrong with their site. It won’t let me create a log in. Is there anywhere else I can get your course? Thank you!!!
Halfway into this video, you unwittingly put the finger on why I think there is such a huge benefit of NOT being a professional/full time artist; for me, every drawing is an experiment or a training exercise and there is no pressure to achieve anything with them beside for what I decide myself, and since my ego does not need external validation via my drawings, I feel pretty free. So, as a hobbyist, I just produce for myself and my own pleasure. If other likes it, cool, but I don't draw for that reason. I.e. unlike a pro artist, my drawings has no bearing on my ability to pay my bills and put food on the table, and as such it does not matter if others like them or not. It's nice if they do, but I don't need the validation, because it has no effect on my living standard, nor do I want it to have an effect on it.
So much life in your drawings. Very joyful!
Very kind to you to say. thanks
As an architecture student this channel is a gold mine that helps me learn how to draw, thank u for making these videos

I’m sorry, but CLASS101 is now a subscription model and you can’t do individual courses. It’s all changed since my original agreement 😀
Hi,
This is nice. I have recently shifted to Sydney. How to start learning painting here? How do I connect with you? Regards, Dhritiman

It is a great mindset to have and encourage. I suspect it’s why every artist I know has a love/hate relationship with commissions 😀
