  • Olivia Munn's stunning breast cancer revelation has everyone talking about the assessment test that she took. The actress says her cancer was not spotted during her annual mammogram. She even tested negative for 90 different cancer genes. Her OB-GYN calculated her breast cancer risk assessment score and determined Munn needed to be sent to get a breast MRI. In light of her revelations, Inside Edition’s Alison Hall took her own breast cancer risk assessment with Dr. Sharon Rosenbaum Smith.

The test does not allow anyone under the age of 35 to take the test, which I think is not right. Breast cancer can be found in any woman of any age. Especially in today’s world, I would like to calculate my risk as well!

Some tests don't work well on different age groups and have a higher chance of giving false positives so it doesn't make sense all the time (Don't know about this one tho). Olivia probably suspected cancer as she got tested for cancer so if you feel like you have it you might want to get it checked out.

@@sadyechester6934 It really comes down to whether you have a family history of breast cancer or tested positive for gene mutations like BRCA1 or BRCA2. If you have a family history of breast cancer with no ties of breast cancer gene mutations, then you should at least start screening 5 years earlier (from the age when your mother was diagnosed). Versus if you test positive for BRCA1, BRCA2, or any other breast cancer gene, then you should pursue screening as early as age 25.

One of the most significant ways for a woman to lower her risk for BC is to stop 🛑 drinking entirely. I had BC. I was a socially acceptable drinker at the time - I’m a non-drinker now - but this was the only thing I was doing wrong. And I believe stopping drinking alcohol has lowered my risk of recurrence significantly. I had triple negative BC and that was in 2008 - I am here 16-years later with no sign of disease.
